Mission: Our purpose is to answer God''s call to seek justice and mercy for those living in poverty by providing legal services that strengthen lives, families and communities. Our vision is for clients to leave us stronger than they came. CGLA accomplishes its mission by providing high quality legal services enhanced by a professional social worker. CGLA provides free legal services in four areas of the law: housing, family, criminal records, and criminal defense. We integrate social work into our services to extend our impact beyond the legal crisis.
Programs: CGLA provides legal services in the areas of family, housing, criminal defense, and expungement, sealing and clemency. Each program area is directed by a full-time staff attorney, supported by volunteer attorneys and law student interns. CGLA continues to increase the number of clients served while maintaining a high quality of legal service. CGLA employs a holistic approach to serving clients while maintaining its specialization in the provision of legal services. The Clinic achieves this ambition through the involvement of a full-time social worker who works with clients to address needs outside their legal case. Furthermore, CGLA works closely with neighborhood social services agencies to which clients can be referred.
