CAT TALES Care About Them. Tell About the Lord's Endangered Species. CAT TALES.

I am blessed to have been one of their first volunteers in 1991. It was both life altering and incredibly humbling. To have had the privilege of spending time up close, caretaking and helping to educate the community, such a gift. And tiger kisses....be still my beating heart.....

From the very beginning, founders Debbie and Mike Wyche's focus was to educate. And we did. We did outreach to schools in the Spokane area, and big yellow school buses brought young inquiring minds for our animal residents to inspire. These incredibly majestic creatures have been the teachers all these years.

There is hope for the future when young minds become engaged. If we could only spark the flame...We encouraged water conservation, recycling and the important principals of taking care of their own pets as significant responsibilities. Environmental education was really coming to the forefront of global concerns. We cannot replace our planet, oceans, rivers and streams, or the creatures that inhabit them. And it still remains as important as ever.

There was a flourishing trade of exotic animals on the black market, and private ownership of exotic pets was rampant. There became a vital and timely need to rescue as many exotics as possible from the private sector, and provide them sanctuary, allowing them to live out their lives in a healthy and safe environment. We have now become a rescue sanctuary for not only exotics, but indigenous
wildlife as well!

It truly is all about them, and our experienced staff, students, veterinarians, and volunteers, as well as our Board of Directors, are dedicated to ensure they thrive and are well cared for every day for the rest of their natural life.

After 30 years, Cat Tales Wildlife and their community of hearts are still here, with the same goal, to educate. Please join us by visiting in person, through our website www.cattales.org, or our various Cat Tales Wildlife social media sites.

Please visit and become inspired to be a participant in team Cat Tales Wildlife, where every day is Earth Day!!

Let us all engage together, educate and help leave our planet and it's creatures, a wonderous place for our children to inherit!

Sending the hugest thank you to all current and future supporters, your support now and through all these years has been priceless.

With kindest regards and blessings, always,
Nancy

As a co-founder of Cat Tales, I have dedicated over 30 years to this nonprofit. The 24/7 commitment and unbridled dedication to the animals entrusted to our care is what drives us. By educating wildlife conservationists of all ages, we believe we are bestowing our planet's future upon children. Imparting empathy and knowledge about wildlife ensures they aren't just found in an encyclopedia. Cat Tales serves as an ideal outdoor classroom, inspiring while providing a second chance at a quality life for rescue, retired, and non-releasable wildlife.

Cat Tales helped a new company that I work with become more established in Spokane as they celebrated the value of their employees by providing them with a venue to host their first employee recognition event, in trade for using their services to improve the grounds of the wildlife park. This was a win win where each organization helped the other while educating the guests about the importance of caring for animals big and small.

It has been my pleasure to serve on the Cat Tales Board of Directors. I look forward to continuing this service by providing financial support, volunteer help and oversight guidance as this organization continues to grow. Cat Tales lives up to its mission statement, Making a Difference for Wildlife - Rescue, Compassion and Education, every day, every way. Congratulations on your expansion into the Summer Camp realm as you prepare the future generations.

I'm not sure which I love the most - the animals in such a clean and peaceful environment or the visitors with the excitement they share at being able to be up close and personal with the animals.

Since our retirement two years ago my wife and I sought to participate/volunteer at a quality non-profit. Cat Tales in Mead, Washington, is a 30+ year old organization dedicated to providing forever homes to elderly, infirmed, or otherwise non-releasable animals, most of which are large cats such as tigers and pumas. At our first visit in early winter it was abundantly clear that the animals were very well cared for given the condition of the animal residents, the attention provided by their human attendants, and the thoroughness of answers to our questions. We "adopted" a marvelous lion and began volunteer work that first day. Since then our initial impressions continue to be reinforced and expanded now that we see the admirable level of work provided on a daily basis. Please consider financial and/or volunteer support of this organization as we continue to do. Cat Tales is a genuinely worthwhile group and represents the only local zoological facility in our area where grandchildren can see and learn about such amazing animals.

I have been involved with Cat Tales off and on since 2001. Spent five years as a daily volunteer in all aspects of animal husbandry and exhibit construction. I enjoy being involved in such a worthwhile endeavor and a much needed exotic animal rescue and educational facility

I started volunteering here about four years ago and I still can’t get enough. It’s so rewarding to watch the rescued animals blossom after they arrive here and get settled. Some of them come from very difficult situations and they are fearful and angry upon arrival. I love watching them settle in and regain trust in people. The owners and staff work tirelessly to keep these animals fed and cared for. They are often there 12 hours a day, every day. Regardless of weather or if they’re worn out they show up and give these animals their all. As a non profit there is always a struggle to make ends meet and every little bit is so appreciated by them. They never taken donations or volunteers for granted. I can’t express the joy I’ve seen in so many people’s faces as they experience these animals with us.

My husband and I are retired medical people ( RN and PA ) and have been volunteering out here for almost 2 years. Very impressed with the hard work and love these people exhibit every day in the care of these special animals. Their dedication shows in the health and overall contentment of those they care for

I’ve been volunteering at the summer camp all week. The animals are well cared for, the staff is happy, and everything is clean. Pleasantly surprised with the whole experience and also amazed that it’s been 4 days in a small zoo, yet it’s different every time. The animals are different from day to day and it’s made it that much more exciting.
I definitely want to be more involved and will be volunteering more when I can for them.
