Mission: The ymca is essentially a membership association of men, women, and children of all ages, abilities, incomes, races, and religions. It is dedicated to building healthy spirit, mind, and body of individuals and families. It puts christian principles into practice through programs that promote good health, strong families, youth leadership, community development, and international understanding. The ymca is a charitable community service organization that meets community needs and is open to all ages, and abilities, and all incomes; that meets the health and social service needs of the family; and that emphasizes the development of values, the encouragement of moral and ethical behavior based on christian beliefs. The ymca is founded and led by volunteers from our community; volunteers also serve as mentors, coaches, program leaders, instructors and more.

Programs: Aquaticsymca aquatic programs are part of the ymca's overall goal of building healthy spirit, mind, and body. In addition to providing specific swimming and water safety skills, they promote good health through regular exercise. They also promote teamwork, self-confidence, and leadership. Group swim lessons are free to members and fees are affordable to the community at large, with financial assistance for those who can't afford the full fee. child carethe central focus of the butler county family ymca child care program is to foster growth and development in a safe and nurturing environment for parents who need supplemental care because of work committments or training. Parents and staff work together to create a positive experience for the children. A balance of free play and structured activities are provided. Specifically, the program objectives are as follows: *to help improve and expand the child's mental processes *encourage self-confidence, independence and self-expression *develop respect and a responsible attitude toward peers, society and the community *strengthen physical capabilities *develop self-identityin 2017, at the butler ymca site only, 152 different children between the ages of 6 weeks and twelve years of age received care. It puts christian principles into practice through programs that promote good health, strong families, youth leadership and community development. Ymca members have access to all programs, activities, and facilities, all of which further our charitable purpose. The ymca's financial assistance policy and practice is "no one will be denied participation for lack of funds. "population served information: membersin 2017, 27,060 people were ymca members, including 9,470 kids & teens, 10,060 adults, and 4,709 seniors. Of these members, 1,236 received financial aid, valued at $215,046. In addition, the ymca served 8,251 people who participated in ymca programs. Of these program participants, 184 received financial aid valued at $6,440. Ymca services are offered at affordable fees for the community at-large, with financial assistance available for those who cannot afford the full fee. In 2017, 1,662 participants received subsidized programs and memberships that totaled $279,196. Program volunteersin 2017, 471 program volunteers donated 10,724 hours, valued at $119,008.
