Wonderful group doing so much to help women when they need it!

I I won a free mammogram (I have no insurance) at their mammogram party and I had to.go back for ultrasound and another mammogram. I am ok. The Busted Foundation and Dr Kitner came to my rescue. What a blessing they are amazing and everyone should support them and donate to them and they help hundreds of women in need and they helped me thank you so much Busted and Dr Kitner.

I am proud to be a volunteer for the Busted Foundation! What an amazing organization to help the many, many women throughout the years. I am honored to have volunteered in the past and can't wait to volunteer in the future!

I am proud to say that I am still a volunteer with Busted! I have met many women we have helped throughout the years as well as become involved with the application review. It's truly inspiring and humbling these brave individuals fighting for their lives and their families! I am thankful Busted Foundation is around to help and proud to be a volunteer with them. I have been volunteering with Busted for over three years now, and I can say that my experience has been great. The foundation is amazing - it raises money for people who have breast cancer to help them pay ther bills. Every penny raised goes straight to our beneficiaries, which make me feel good about volunteering. Also, the events are fun!! Hooray for Busted!!

Busted Foundation makes a difference in women's lives. Just read the stories of the women who have received help from the money raised by the Bowling for Boobies events! I give every year because getting breast cancer is one of the most devastating events of a woman's life. I know. My mother had breast cancer twice. I experienced second-hand her turmoil. And I have had friends since then who have suffered from this terrible disease, including Edith who founded this organization. Having been disabled myself, I know that having money to pay for both medical and personal expenses makes all the difference in the world to recovery. So, I will keep giving and I look forward to the ever-increasing impact my gifts have for those in need. And who knows? Maybe someday I will need it myself.

Many times, when someone is diagnosed with cancer, insurance doesn't completely cover the costs incurred for treatment (meds, co-pays, lost work days), and if the person doesn't have insurance, the amounts necessary to battle the disease can be staggering. (The Busted Motto: “You get the bump, you get the bill, you’re BUSTED.”) The Busted Foundation responds by sending a cash donation to these fantastic and brave individuals to help them cover their costs and living expenses (food, meds, doctor’s bills). How do they do this? Through a humane and often heart wrenching screening process where we listen to the patients, their background, their stories, and respond with funds individually designed to ease the burden of an already traumatic event. There are plenty of charitable organizations out there whose main goal is to raise research funds to find a cure. This foundation’s goal is simply to give individually to those in need, enabling dignity and humanity during a difficult time. I cannot recommend The Busted Foundation highly enough. Please join me in supporting them so their mission can continue for many years to come.

I spent many years doing biomedical research in laboratories. I am all in favor of tax dollars and charitable donations going to further our understanding of the science of cancer.

However, for me personally there's a better and more effective way of stamping out cancer and its horrible erosion of our loved ones' lives: direct action. In this case, direct action against the breast cancer that attacked my mom, my former boss, and my boss' boss — direct action in the form of helping women with a breast cancer diagnosis be strong, be brave, and not be distracted by financial considerations.

You could put that $5 in a jar at the convenience store, or you could give twice that, or five times that, or whatever you can afford, to directly help someone who will be hand-selected by the Busted Foundation board as someone whose life will be changed by your donation pooled with those of others. If you think long and hard about it, it's really the best "bang for your buck" in fighting breast cancer.

Working with Busted Foundation continues to be a a great source of pride and inspiration in my life. We meet more and more people that understand our work and lift us up to the next level.

We have to help each other. We have to be that support in time of struggle.

I was first introduced to this charity by Sean Decker and brought on as a team member for the group's #1 Charity Event, Bowling for Boobies. Having met Stefanie LaHart, the founder/CEO, I was overcome by her enthusiam and passion for this charity. It is clear she is the driving force behind the group's desire to reach out and help local women who are hurting. Cancer is a crippling disease that touches us all in some way. Over the last few years, I’ve known close friends who’ve fought the cancer battle, and although survived – they live in constant fear that it’ll return. Cancer is an immense struggle; physically, emotionally, and financially. Those diagnosed, and fighting are some of the strongest people I know and they simply touch my heart. For me, seeing the outreach that BUSTED provides to the local LA community - nothing in life is more important than giving back, and if I can be part of something like the BUSTED FOUNDATION that helps bring joy or a moment of repreieve to just one woman’s battle with this disease, then I feel I’ve accomplished at least a little of my purpose in life. BUSTED is a wonderful, loving, caring, and organized Charity. I am so happy to be a part of something like this, and with th driving force of Stefanie LaHart at the helm.

Busted Foundation is amazing because I have witnessed them change lives. It is just incredible to hear the stories from people who have been directly affected by cancer, and how Busted helped them. It also matters greatly to me that this is a smaller and local charity since it allows them to be more agile and efficient. Bottom line: Busted Foundation is an organization that is making a difference, one person at a time.

I found out about this wonderful charity through Stefanie LaHart, Busted Foundation's founder and CEO. She was my downstairs neighbor when I lived in LA! I had never been privy to the inner workings of a nonprofit before - how much work goes into it, how many people are involved, how many lives you can touch in even the smallest way. I started to see some of the "Thank You" notes that were coming in around 2010 and was truly moved. I had never really stopped to think about just how much cancer can affect your life, your family's life. Obviously we are all aware how expensive treatment can be and how much red tape is unfortunately involved with insurance companies, but when I started to read letters thanking the Busted Foundation for affording them the opportunity to buy school supplies for their children, or groceries, or to pay rent - I was hooked. I was ready to work with the Foundation and Stefanie any way I could. Stefanie is an absolute angel. She is always looking for new creative ways to get people involved and to raise awareness and money for others in need. She is, hands down, the most selfless person I know. She really cares, is incredibly supportive, and is a real-life superwoman! I haven't lived in LA for almost two years now, but still keep in close touch with her and the Foundation and am sure to make it back every year for the annual Bowling for Boobies event! Best non-profit ever!! :)

Busted Foundation is one of the few grass roots foundations with a campaign that not only promises big, important wins for women with Breast Cancer, but follows through 200%. Yes, they are small. Yes, they have help from volunteers, but the amount of work put in to launching the foundation and continuing to make it a success not only stands up to community expectations, but exceeds them, and sets the goal higher for other organizations fighting breast cancer. This foundation was started to help a community member, Edith, with her mounting breast cancer bills after a stage four diagnosis with no insurance or resource to turn to either pay for treatment, or the mounting bills post (free) mammogram. California is wonderful for getting you a free mammogram--but how do you get treatment and pay your bills without insurance, when the diagnosis itself makes you untouchable? The community, with the help of Busted Founder Stefanie LaHart, raised that money, and her bills were paid. Year after year, more women in the community were in the same boat, and Busted Foundation was born. They make fundraising fun with their annual events, Bowling For Boobies, with achievable goals for community members joining the fight. Because the foundation awards scholarships to applicants in need that pay *all* bills--not just medical ones--Lives were saved, and in some cases, homes were saved. Electricity and water was not shut off. Rent was paid. The doctor healing them was paid. The support for this foundation is overwhelming, and they get it right. I have met the women Busted has helped--and they could not have made it through the heavy weight of cancer treatment, nor the expense, without them. I look forward to seeing them continue to do some of the best work associated with women diagnosed with breast cancer--directly helping the women suffering from the disease. No smoke and mirrors--Busted Foundation is the real deal.

I live donating to this charity knowing money directly helps women's fighting cancer. It's nice to know this mk eh makes a direct impact and is not held up in red tape like a lot of other charities

This was my first year working with the Busted Foundation and it was amazing! I have worked with many non-profits before, but Busted brought the volunteer experience to a whole new level. Not only is the organization amazingly organized and creative in the way that they raise their money, but the money goes directly to women affected by Breast Cancer. It was this personal feel that made working with Busted such an honor and a pleasure. I actually felt like I was really affecting the lives of women across the country. I will absolutely work with them again.

I have participated in Bowling for Boobies for four years with a competing team. I was awestruck and humbled with the first experience, which is why I keep returning. Making a difference in women's lives right here in Los Angeles is an unmatched experience. Knowing that this isn't a giant organization where money mostly goes to administrative costs makes it even better. I always leave every year feeling like I did something meaningful for women. It's the gift of dignity in a very horrible time. It's love. And that is why I will keep going back. One day, that woman might be me.

Having worked with multiple non profits over 15 years that range in variety of services provided and issues and causes advocated for, I can honestly say I'm impressed with the Busted Foundation on a regular basis. Very rarely do you see a non profit that can actually directly and positively impact an individual's life the way Busted does. The grant recipients who write in to request funds and/or send a thank you for funds received tell you immediately that you're making an important difference in their life. The people who work to make Busted succeed are extremely dedicated and are looking to grow and evolve this organization to serve and provide funds for more women than ever before - until there's a cure for breast cancer, diagnosis will continue and a unique and direct services organization like Busted will need to thrive in order to continue to support these women. As well, this is an all-volunteer organization that proves what a few dedicated individuals can accomplish when they care deeply about an issue and making a positive impact in someone's life. Busted needs and deserves even more support so they can achieve and exceed their mission. Kudos to Busted and the whole team for all they've done so far and good luck to them in the future!

When I first heard about the Busted Foundation & the Bowling for Boobies event a few years ago, I knew that I would want to be involved in helping this worthy cause. This year I was lucky enough to be able to contribute my time, and I was moved to see how many people are eager to dedicate their time, money & efforts to this noble cause. It is clear this organization changes people's lives, and the satisfaction of being a part of that is hard to match.

In 2004 a very special and dear soul, now no longer with us began this fun and "pay it forward" charity - bowling event called "Bowling for Boobies". Busted Foundation serves two purposes for me . . . one is the continuation of helping those in financial hardship relating to the insanity of our messed up healthcare system. No one should be driven into bankruptcy simply from suffering with breast cancer. Secondly, the Bowling event gives me the feeling as if we are together again having fun and volunteering for the cause. *One final note - a huge congratulations to Stefanie LaHart who stepped up to the role of Busted Foundation, CEO - Stefanie has brought the organization to a new level. Many good karma's to Stefanie!

The Busted Foundation is a fantastic local non-profit, in fact maybe one of the best ones out there! I volunteered my time to help manage their online presence through social media and didn't mind lending plenty of work time to them at all. What they do and stand for is truly life-changing and makes a huge impact on these women who are suffering from breast cancer. Not only is it a great idea, but makes perfect sense to help promote such a cause to help out anyone who's battling this disease and can't even afford to get better. After seeing the results and support for Bowling for Boobies and breast cancer awareness month, the outreach and efforts done was eye-opening to see and I felt proud to be involved in just a little part of a great organization.

I've had the opportunity to work with Busted Foundation on a professional and personal level for more than five years. It truly is the most dynamic and energetic organization of its kind, delivering on the promise to directly impact those most impacted by breast cancer. With its sense of contagious enthusiasm, every single person involved with Busted, from fundraisers to guests, feels a sense of belonging and contribution for a great cause.

The Busted Foundation is one of the BEST Non-profits around. They truly mean to do good which is why Pristine Beauty participates each year in Bowling For Boobies! As the owner I am so proud to be a small part of the great good they are doing!!!!

Not only am I a recipient of the Busted Foundation, I am very happy to say that I am a Stage 3 Grade 3 Breast Cancer Survivor of 3 years who is now very proud to be an avid volunteer for the Busted Foundation. I've suffered too many surgeries to count over the past 3 years and the team at the Busted Foundation was there to support me financially and emotionally all the way. I was terrified that I would not be able to pay my utility bills and buy food. I was in jeopardy of losing my apartment and vehicle. Having no family here with me, I became very scared that I would have no way to get to my chemo infusion appointments or surgeries. Most worrisome was that I wouldn't have an advocate to speak on my behalf or uphold my advanced directive should the unthinkable happen. The team at the Busted Foundation made sure I had a family to take care of me!!! I am so grateful to them and honored that I can be a volunteer now and be witness to the numerous women who continue to receive their assistance, love and support! If it wasn't for the non-profit Busted Foundation, I don't know where I'd be today... Today I am healthy, happy and stronger than ever using this strength to further promote the care and financial assistance the Busted Foundation provides in the form of grants to woman battling breast cancer.

2012 marks the, let's see, 4th year that I've worked for BFB as a fundraiser, bowler, and donator of goods/services. It's always a joy to be a part of their annual bowling event. The staff and volunteers are uniformly upbeat, generous with both their time and knowledge, and committed. It's a wonderful group to be a part of...a real party, celebrating and supporting local women. With 100% of profits actually going directly to cancer patients, you can feel at ease asking friends and coworkers to contribute (even in tough economic times). I love these guys and will do whatever they ask of me until they kick me out!

I work for several non-profit organizations on a daily basis and I have rarely seen so much love, passion and hard work put into events as the Busted Foundation. Understanding that this money is actually going to help pay for women's astronomical bills -- and hearing their stories about how Busted has saved them from serious financial debt, is inspiring to me every year. I couldn't be more proud to be a part of this organization.

Knowing that all donations go directly to women suffering with breast cancer makes this organiztion number 1 in my book. Most other cancer fundations raise money for research. People battling this disease need financial help and that is what this organization does.

In 2004, a dear friend of mine found herself bankrupted by her ongoing treatment for breast cancer. Busted Foundation's signature event, Bowling for Boobies, was created to specifically benefit one woman who found herself overwhelmed by ordinary living expenses in the face of a medically devastating event. Eight years later, Busted Foundation now helps multiple women every year with cash grants to meet living expenses while undergoing treatment. This lifeline is extended to women in need by a completely volunteer staff and board of directors. The organization has no paid staff and can give 100% of its proceeds to support women in need.

Such a worthy cause since all the donations go directly to women living with Breast Cancer. Found out this non-profit is all volunteers and donations based so 100% of the money goes to the recipients of the cancer patients.

I bid on and won a pink guitar signed by famous female guitarists! This was a charity auction to help fund Busted Foundation's work, financial assistance for those with breast cancer. Everything was very professional, and I was very pleased with the guitar. I will be happy to support these folks again and again.

I find it totally amazing all the people who took time out of their busy lives to help with such a worthy cause. I only wish that i could do more financially to help.There is a huge need for charities like this because as a cancer survivor myself the hardest thing to do is take care of expense that accumilate during an illness such as canver, Insurance does not cover family expense when you cant work. I wish i could have attended the bowling tournement but i could not however seeing the pix of the event shows me that people generally have compassion for others no matter what the times are. so thank you for all who took part in this on behalf of people battling this disease. Sponsored a team for the event and have supported this charity for several years. They are helping to pay the expenses of women with Breast Cancer who don't have insurance or policies that don't cover all the expenses. Amazing work being done and so much of the money raised is being put to the use it is raised for!

Bowling for Boobies is a great way to help out women suffering from breast cancer with the financial burden that is often forgotten. It was a fun evening with my friends bowling and making memories. And all my amazing friends who could not bowl with us donated to this great cause - it felt so great to help & have fun!

I donated money to this worth-while group. They raise funds for breast cancer. As someone experienced with non-profit groups, I whole-heartedly endorse this group and strongly recommend that anyone considering them for monies go ahead and donate! The money is used appropriately. I support their efforts without reservation, question, hesitation, or pause.

Bowling for Boobies helped me connect with other women who had experienced breast cancer in their lives or a relative or friend's life, like me. And it was a lot of fun. I believe a charity that raises money for women on the local level does a lot of good and believe heartily in this organization.

Both my sister, aunt and best friend are breast cancer survivors. Thank goodness they had the funds to get everything they needed. Busted Foundation helps those who don't and that's why I think they're doing a world of good. Plus, the t-shirts are adorable and sold themselves. I look forward to the next fun fundraising event!

This charity not only helps people with breast cancer, but it helps provide hope for people who are just getting diagnosed and for the supporters of those diagnosed. Anyone who has ever been without health insurance knows how hard it is to get treatment for the most mundane things...with breast cancer, imagine that emplified by thousands of dollars PLUS the reality that if you don't get care (and pay the bill) you die. There are plenty of programs in CA that help you get the mamogram to get diagnosed--but after? You have no insurance and you can't GET insurance. This charity ensures that you can pay your bills beyond the free mamogram. That you can get treatment, and with help from Busted Foundation--an actual future beyond the bill. I'm one of the lucky ones. I have insurance...but there have been plenty of times I was without, inbetween jobs or just on my own. I fully support this organization.

Busted foundation is one of the most humane charitable organiztions in existance today. Every year (in multiple cities) the foundation hosts the "Bowling for Boobies" charity event in which ALL of the proceeds that are donated go to help women with breast cancer. Every incoming dollar goes back to those in need (no overhead taken) while the event sustains itself by the charitable submissions of gifts for auction, locations in which to hold the event, and sponsors who donate food, drink and time directly to the cause. The funds are then distributed DIRECTLY to those in need (namely women who are diagnosed with breast cancer who have no medical coverage and need help due to insurance companies refusing to accept them due to pre-existing conditions). I'm proud every year to support the busted foundation and would encourage all to give generously.

As a breast cancer myself, I profoundly understand the need for a non-profit such as this, which trusts women enough to give them funds directly with which to pay bills which accumulate unmercifully during cancer treatment. The main breast cancer foundation which gave us the famous Pink Everything, does not trust women enough to give them funds directly for their expenses. So far, I have never found another breast cancer foundation which fills this great need for women. I admire them beyond what words could ever say.

Busted is a unique organization because it meets an immediate need for women who have breast cancer. We do not consider the financial strain that a woman (& her family) may experience during her course of treatment - whether it be due to her medical bills, or that she cannot work during her treatment and her family's budget may not be met. It is bad enough to be dealt the blow of the diagnosis, but adding the icing of financial debt, what stress!! I Love what BUSTED is doing for women with breast cancer who may be in financial need.

There are plenty of foundations funding medical research. As a former medical researcher myself, I can attest to the power of these foundations. However, research is expensive and is best funded by governments. Grants of $250K per year are standard, and that is a lot of money going from a foundation to one person. My mother and both of my bosses (my direct report and her boss as well) are breast cancer survivors. With one in eight women affected by breast cancer sometime in their life, it's a safe bet that most of us have been touched in a more or less direct way by this disease. The Busted Foundation was started by friends of Edith Speed, who was stricken by breast cancer at a time when she had no financial resources to fight the disease. The physical fight against breast cancer consumes 100% of a person's energy. It's criminal what we do in our society that impedes a person's ability to heal emotionally and spiritually as well as physically. For example, my boss spent the time she wasn't undergoing chemo, fighting with her insurance company. With Edith's passing, the Busted Foundation has expanded its reach to include all cancer fighters or survivors who need additional financial support. By directing their efforts toward the fighter, they leverage what would be a small amount of money in the research realm into an impactful amount of money for the individual affected by cancer. Administrative costs are minimal. The Busted Foundation is focused on helping those fighting a diagnosis of cancer.

I've had two breast cancer scares where my GYN has thought she felt a lump. I was one of the most lucky ones and it was just scar tissue. One day, that could change. Knowing this, breast cancer fundraisers are my passion and I support as many as I can. I must say this one caught my attention because it helps the individual at the hardest time of their life by keeping the wolves at bay. Medical expenses can wipe a family out and this group of caring people do everything they can to help.

This organization was started by one petite big-hearted firecracker. I love that she takes the proceeds and hands it over directly to the women to help them with their medical bills. She works very hard every day of the year to make this organization explode on their annual bowling for boobies fundraiser. Please donate any way that you can - everyone has been touched by breast cancer in some way.

The Busted Foundation is a wonderful grass-roots organization that raises money to directly help women struggling with breast cancer. It eases a lot of pressure while going through such a difficult time. The money raised goes directly to these women to pay for whatever they need help with, their medical bills, rent, food, child care, etc. I personally like to support a charity that gives help directly to those in need in our community. The Busted Foundation is full of heart and passion and cares deeply about their cause.

The website was easy to understand and I got confirmation via email and regular mail showing my contribution. Great website! The charity organization is great. It helps woman going through breast cancer pay expenses while going through treatment. Its amazing what people can do when they band together to help others.

This is a group of super hard working people with a focused mission. A friend of mine was greatly helped by them during her battle with breast cancer. Sadly, in this case, my friend lost the battle. In her memory I must honor and encourage appreciation of this organization for doing their part in making her life better.
