BunnyLuv continues to be a great resource for all rabbits owners, and homeless rabbits who have nowhere else to go. They do tremendous work and really care about rabbits. I can't say enough about them. We have adopted three rabbits from them, and everyone there is great.
Mission: Our goals are to provide practical information, guidance, and skills to the public on ideal care for rabbits and on understanding rabbit behavior; to help reduce overpopulation, suffering, and abandonment of domestic rabbits; to help keep rabbit lovers informed of issues surrounding rabbits and their overall well being in this country and abroad, in the pet industry and otherwise. We believe that increasing inter-species compassion and understanding contributes to a more peaceful planet.
Programs: BLRRC offers live one-on-one or group support six days a week. We host workshops every six weeks, on-going adoptions, newsletters and mailings, a phone help-line, as well as on-line support. We also participate in community programs and events, as well as hosting our own events throughout the year. We offer youth and adult volunteer programs, plus we support and presentations to local shelter staff and schools/libraries who are interested in our programs. We also educate our members on the number of rabbits who are exploited outside the pet industry and how they can be helped. Our family has adopted three rabbits from Bunnyluv over the years, and we also purchase bunny care supplies from them. When we first went there, we had one single rabbit and they did a great job bonding him to a friend. Everyone on staff and also the volunteers have been great, and they do a great job caring for these wonderful creatures. Their facility is always clean and the rabbits are well taken care of, which is important to me. They have all been through so much. Bunnyluv provides an essential service - savings rabbits from the animal shelters.
BunnyLuv is a fabulous place to volunteer your time. They have such a large variety of duties, from cutting up apple tree branches to cleaning their restroom (where the meds are administered). The employed staff sincerely cares about their shelter rabbits. The BunnyLuv staff is very appreciative of any and all hours you give them.
