Causes: Arts & Culture, Visual Arts

Mission: Buenaventura art association enriches and promotes ventura county's cultural identity by supporting, developing and exhibiting a diverse community of emerging and established local artists.

Programs: Baa volunteers conduct art activities for children and families at ongoing events and holidays throughout the year at the harbor village gallery and buenaventura gallery. Some of these events include cottontail days, mother's day, pirate days, and more. These children's art activities serve approximately 400 children and their families.

the baa offers at least 12 member exhibitions and 12-18 solo exhibitions each year. Baa has joined forces with community memorial hospital to bring art to the public with rotating exhibits in the bottom floor of the hospital. The exhibits are open to all artist, not just association members.

annual collegiate student competition awardng scholarships, now entering its eleventh year. Free children's workshops at the buenaventura gallery including: cards for valentine's day, adventures in acrylics, art dolls, and tissue paper magic amoung others. Free informal children's art activities during the summer months at the harbor village gallery. Approximately 400 children and their families are served through all of baa's youth art workshops and activities.

art workshops are held throughout the year and are available to the community, workshops offered include: upcycling the discarded, mixed media, how to sell your art, painting with pastels, and watercolor and ink amoung others.
