The Bucket Ministry (TBM) is a unique and powerful tool in the hands of our Lord, and He is using it mightily. I've been working with TBM since 2017, and their structure, accountability, discipleship, and reliance on the Lord have only grown since then.
I found TBM when searching for an NGO on the Sawyer water filter website. I had heard of how amazing the filters were and when researching the filters, I found TBM on the website's non-profit page. That was the day that the Lord brought our two ministries together to bless others.
Over the next couple of years, we teamed up with TBM to train our pastors in Kenya and they were able to use that training to bless their communities. As time went on, we were able to join TBM on several mission trips.
Our first trip to Kenya was in 2019 and my husband and I were able to be on the team. We spent several days in one of the largest slums in Africa called Kibera in the middle of Nairobi, Kenya. It was a powerful time of serving and fellowship as we worked side by side with our new Kenyan brothers and sisters. Over the course of that time, several hundred families received the gift of clean water, but most importantly many received the gift of grace and accepted the Lord Jesus as their Savior. The hope and the joy in the eyes of each recipient, as they received their buckets and filters, was nearly overwhelming for us. As these distributions were taking place the very atmosphere lifted as each person learned that they had not been forgotten, that they had a friend, a friend named Jesus who would never leave them or forsake them.
On this trip, our team also traveled to Lake Baringo and had the blessing of doing a distribution for the Pokot people. I can not put into words the experience of watching the chief of that tribe when he took his first drink ever of clean water and then when the ENTIRE tribe stepped up to the altar call and accepted Jesus.
I work full-time in ministry, and teaming up with The Bucket Ministry has been a blessing on so many levels. From the day they personally answered my email from their contacts page in 2017 to this very day we have grown. Their willingness to teach and disciple not only the recipients of the buckets and their own missionaries and staff but also those who, like us, want to learn from their experience or join them in the journey, is yet another example of how Christ-centered and Spirit-led this ministry is.
May the Lord continue to bless the work of The Bucket Ministry and any who choose to join the Lord in this labor of love.
Blessings,

I have been on 3 trips giving the bucket and filters out to people on the Amazon river in Brazil. It is life changing for their health; the impact on babies and young children is literally life saving. It amazing to witness the impact, not just on individuals or families, but whole communities health and quality of life. The Bucket Ministry touching the world for good, one drink at a time.
I have found TBM to be a phenomenal nonprofit which gives great communication to its supporters and wisely uses the funds and resources entrusted to it in line with their mission. I recently went on a trip with them and everything from preplanning, training, travel, and time spent in country were done with excellence.
Excellence is the first word that comes to mind when I think of The Bucket Ministry. I have been impressed with their mission of providing clean water to families all over the world by distributing simple, but life-changing, water filters. I appreciate their commitment to employing local, in-country people to distribute the filters and establish relationships which equip and empower recipients to take responsibility for the care and maintenance of the filter. By meeting the physical needs of families, TBM paves the way to then meet spiritual needs through sharing the gospel and discipleship.
During Vacation Bible School, our church designated the missions offering to purchase water filters. TBM provided curriculum and staff members to share about the work and mission. They set up a digital dashboard which made it possible for everyone to track the progress of how many filters our offering purchased each day and demographics of the families being helped. It was a powerful and tangible way for our whole church family to see their pennies, nickels, and dimes add up to change lives.
I recently had the opportunity to travel with TBM to Honduras and help distribute filters in remote mountain villages. Logistically, it was absolutely the smoothest, most well-planned, and well-executed trip I have ever been a part of. Everything from pre-trip training, travel arrangements and accommodations, to working with in-country pastors on distribution and discipleship was intentional, deliberate, and extremely effective. Which brings us back to my beginning sentiment: excellence. This organization loves the Lord and loves people; and they honor both through their commitment to serving with excellence.
As a Minister of Missions I am always looking for ways to partner with other ministry to accomplish the Great Mission, making disciples. Going on a mission trip with The Bucket Ministry was breath taking. Not only do they provide clean water to those in under resourced communities, they offer solutions to the physical and spiritual needs of the individuals receiving the water filters.
You see, the main focus is making disciples and bringing hope/love to those lost in sin, needing a savior. Just as Jesus Christ provided for the physical needs of many in the Bible before He provided for their spiritual needs, this is the model the Bucket Ministry practice. Water is a bonus that opens the doors for spiritual conversations. Mission mapping of the locations and people receiving the filters, is another benefit to help donors feel a personal connection to the people they are helping and not just giving money. Although money is definitely needed to accomplish the work, people are needed to teach and train those in the community so that they can disciple and invest in their own communities.
Go and see for yourself what God is doing in the areas that the Bucket Ministry is serving. Mission Expeditions are well organized, and every detail is in place before you step foot on a plane. If you are looking for a way to connect with the lost, share the love of Christ, build personal relationships with those being served, then a mission expedition is a way to begin the journey and the Bucket Ministry will help facilitate the journey!
This organization is using a simple tool to change the lives of people all over the world. I am incredible blessed to know and work with them! I have been a part of their work here in the US and in countries in South and Central America and Africa. No other organization reaches into peoples lives and gives clean water AND hope for a better future through the change brought by Jesus Christ!!
I have now been on three Mission trips with this Ministry to Nepal, the Amazon River, and to Kenya, and in my opinion, it has to be one of the best ministries anywhere in the world. It not only provides clean, safe drinking water to some of the poorest people in the world, but it also introduces them to Jesus. And it does this in a way where local pastors and missionaries gain entry into people's homes for follow-up visits. This allows them to make sure the filters are being used properly so they will last for more than 20 years, but also allows them to continue talking to the recipients about Jesus, and discipling those who have accepted His free gift of salvation. Last year, in the Kibera Slums in Nairobi, Kenya, over 9,000 people had their eternal destiny changed because of this Ministry.
I joined TBM in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya as a project and program evaluator and have proposed to serve in a similar role with future TBM projects
I first heard of the Bucket Ministry in March 2023 of when they presented at my church. I was amazed by the simplicity of what they do to provide safe, clean drinking water to the under privileged, BUT I loved that through the gift of clean water they are able to share about the Living Water. I also have never seen a ministry use data analytics to help run their ministry and can show their donors on a daily basis their activity and how the money is being spent around the world. I was so impressed that my wife and I went on an expedition with them to serve in the Kibera & Athi River Slums in Kenya in September of 2023. A life changing experience! To watch people receive clean water who have never seen clean water for the first time through a demonstration on how to use the filter is a sight to behold. I could not think of a more worthwhile ministry to support and partner with. They not only meet a physical need but serve to meet the spiritual needs through the sharing of the gospel and following up with discipleship.
The Bucket Ministry uses a simple tool, the Sawyer filter, to address immediate physical needs, while earning the right to share the gospel to address people’s spiritual needs at the same time. In Kibera Kenya, I witnessed people’s lives forever changed from these free gifts. I saw mothers praising God that they and their children were no longer sick all the time. I witnessed many people every day accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and even got to celebrate the baptism of 43 people while we were there. It’s incredible to see the joy, hope, peace and love transforming this place through the work of The Bucket Ministry. I am excited about future opportunities to work alongside The Bucket Ministry around the world.
I know first hand the work of The Bucket Ministry and thier expansion to Mexico, we've seen the holistic approach when they service people. They work with professionalism and humanism towards their goal. To share the Love of God through the gift of clean, safe drinking water.
I am Walt Davis, a Volunteer and Board Member of The Bucket Ministry (TBM). I have learned The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed. It took me a long time as an adult to go to work for the Lord...And the results have been amazing. Becoming involved with TBM the Lord has Blessed me with the opportunity, not only at home, but to go around the world and share the story of His Son Jesus Christ. Being a volunteer with TBM has helped me grow in my faith, helped me realize the Blessing of helping others, and knowing that when we get involved with people we are doing the Lord's work. We expect great things from God and TBM has given me the opportunity to attempt great things for God by doing what He has called me to do. I encourage - URGE - everyone who reads the reviews about TBM to pray about the opportunities to step out of your comfort zone and help extend the love of Christ in practical and life-changing ways. If you are not sure what the Lord is calling you to do, "Watch and See Where God is Working, and Join Him in His Work". Go to our web-site thebucketministry.org to find out how you can become involved.
BUT… main thing we all need to do is, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…
I heard Chris on a radio program . It was very exciting and I then talked to their pastor and a board member to learn more . As I began supporting the ministry God called me further and I joined them on a mission trip . It was very exciting to see God work and I’ll be continuing to participate on the mission field with The Bucket Ministry as a story teller !
I heard about this ministry about four years ago and have nothing but good to say about it. It is my favorite ministry to support other than my local church and even World Vision which is another great ministry. This ministry is changing the lives of many in underdeveloped countries both physically and spiritually. I have seen many others get involved in this ministry with nothing to say but they were glad they did. Clean drinking water has to be such a blessing and relief to these people who weren't having it before. Then seeing the love of Jesus Christ through the TBM team and accepting Him as their Lord and Savior gives them even greater peace, love, blessing, and relief. I love this ministry and how it is working!!
The Bucket Ministry blends humanitarian work with evangelism like very few do. From the top leadership to the volunteer in the field, compassion for peoples physical needs and their spiritual needs are evident. TBM is always looking for new and innovative ways to serve the people God has placed in their path and the long term commitment those they serve are second to none. Serving alongside this ministry is one of the very bright spots in my life.
The Bucket Ministry’s mission is as clear as it is simple. Sharing God’s love through the gift of clean, safe, drinking water. Beautiful.
The first time I saw a demonstration, I knew I had to be a part of this organization. Watching people receive the gift of clean water which opens the door to share the eternal salvation of Jesus Christ has been life changing for both me and my wife.
The Bucket Ministry puts the gospel first in their ministry while seeking the good of everyone involved. They keep their cost per intervention low and often share technologies with other organizations doing similar work. Their work is changing lives physically and spiritually for the glory of God.
The Bucket Ministry’s website at https://thebucketministry.org/ clearly sets forth its mission as a ministry formed to share the Love of God through the gift of clean, safe drinking water. A bucket and a Sawyer water filter is given to needy individuals living in some of the world’s worst slums. At least three visits to the recipient’s home and family are made to insure proper use of the filter and to share the gospel.
The Bucket Ministry is in its early years and shows much promise for strong growth and is worthy of support.
