community impact - in 2017, the community impact department evaluated and funded 36 programs vetted through three impact councils and the community investment committee, which are collectively comprised of nearly 50 volunteers from across brown county. These programs provided direct assistance to more than 80,000 people. Department staff coordinated the year-round work of the aforementioned committees; provided outcomes consulting and program evaluation support; organized and led community building activities and events; and convened organizations around priority issues to bring about collaborative solutions.
information and referral services - 2-1-1 is a free, confidential information and referral service that directly assisted more than 5,000 brown county callers in 2017. A community resource database comprised of more than 2,000 resources was maintained by 2-1-1 staff in collaboration with the aging & disability resource center of brown county and the crisis center of family services.
