Honest disclosure first: I am the Executive Director of the Brothers of Mercy Facilities Foundation so, although honest, my review is somewhat biased! To understand our Foundation, you must first understand the Brothers' mission. Begun in the city with Brothers riding bicycles to the outskirts, these selfless , committed men, provided nursing care to those in need. Payment for services, if made at all, sometimes came in the form of produce grown in family gardens and animals from the farm. In the early 1950's, the Brothers realized the need for expansion and moved to the town of Clarence and broke ground for the Nursing Home. At that time, nursing care was provided for men only, but the expansion brought nursing care for all as well as rehabilitation services . Brothers was the first to offer Rehabilitation Services in this way. Over time, our campus has grown to 126 acres of park-like settings providing all types of care for seniors - independent living, assisted living, memory care, in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation services, in home care and Hospice and Palliative care. The Brothers' community is Catholic faith based, but of course welcome all denominations of faith and beliefs. And although we provide Spiritual Care with Mass, Communion Services, and other programs, we receive no funding from the Diocese. We are one of the last privately owned, not for profit care facilities in our area. We rely solely on grants and donations from outside sources. We have consistently remained a 5-star facility, even through the upheavals of COVID-19. We have dedicated, compassionate, and highly knowledgeable team members who put the welfare and care of our residents first!
