Sometimes people think about Board service as what you give to a charity, but being a part of Brookview House has been more about what it gives me: knowing that I am part of an organization that is moving families from poverty and homelessness to being thriving members of our community. I am both amazed and humbled by the hard work I see moms and their kids doing everyday to turn their lives around and by the caring, supportive and knowledgeable staff who guide them through a proven process.

Mission: Brookview's mission is to help homeless and at risk families learn the skills necessary to break the cycle of homeless and poverty.
Programs: Transitional housing - to provide housing and support services to homeless women and their children. The goal is to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. The program provided 6,520 bed days to 96 family members. Services included temporary housing, case management, housing search and placement, life skills training, support groups, counseling and childcare.
adult/parent development - brookview provides families experiencing homelessness with a safe place to live and programs to build their self-esteem. Families practice the skills necessary to thrive as active and integral members of their community and by so doing, improves the community for all of us. The program served 353 family members. Services provided include case management, life skills training, support groups, outreach and prevention.
youth program - provides after school, full day summer, saturday girls and boys groups, teen programs, school-based workshops. Programs are licensed by the commonwealth and designed to help school-age children (6 to 19 years old) recover from the trauma of homelessness and do well in school. Bv provides daily afterschool and school-based and full day summer programs with customized academic and behavioral support. The program served 351 school-aged youth.
