Programs: Education : Classroom and after-school programs, tours, workshops and educational resources for PreK-12, college students and adults. 2006: 6,500 children and 12,800 adults served. Information & Referral: Information and referral on waste reduction, recycling and resource conservation by phone, newsletter and internet. 2006: Answered 9,430 phone requests; 14,484 web "hits"; distributed 8,500 free newsletters each quarter. Used Building Materials: BRING offers the widest selection of used building materials between Portland and San Francisco. Donated items are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. 2006: Served 29,867 customers; diverted 625 tons of materials from the waste stream. Deconstruction : BRING's licensed and bonded decon crew dismantles buildings or prepares buildings for remodelling to salvage reusable materials, such as cabinets, sinks, doors, windows, flooring, lumber and so forth. Donations of salvaged materials are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.2006: Completed 90 deconstruction projects; diverted 225 tons of materials from the waste stream. Recycling : BRING collects, processes and markets household recyclables at the county transfer station serving residents without curbside service. BRING strives to find markets and opportunities to recycle or reuse materials that cannot be handled through the curbside collection system. 2006: 82,000 recycled at the County transfer site.
