At BBT, I have volunteered for the past 2 years. BBT is home away from home and being there and helping younger kids and inspiring them to do ballet, is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
I started dancing at Brighton Ballet Theatre when I was three years old and have grown up in that school. I stayed there for 14 years and then moved on to a prestigious ballet academy in Washington DC (Kirov Academy of Ballet), then to a conservatory (Valentina Kozlova's Dance Conservatory of New York), and ultimately I joined a professional ballet company (Ballet Theatre of Maryland). BBT gave me great performance experience, personal training, and ultimately became a home for me. If it wasn't for BBT, I would probably not have fallen in love with ballet. It was a great introduction into the world of dance and is a wonderful organization. It offers children the opportunity to not only learn the art of movement, but also to perform it on the stage, which is priceless experience. It built the foundation of my journey with dancing.
I had entered the family of Brighton Ballet--for a family it truly is--when I was four years old. Although I no longer dance, they have continued to be the people on whose unquestioning support I can always rely. From picking me up from my daycare on the second floor when my father had just died and my mom could not do so working long hours, taking me on outings, offering advise throughout my childhood, coming to my recitals, visiting me in the hospital when I had cancer and providing me with everything I needed, to continuing to call me once I had moved to college and trying to find ways in which to support me financially, Brighton Ballet truly is not the typical ballet school. Their dance classes taught me not just the steps, but opened me up emotionally and psychologically, provided a perpetual outlet for my creativity, encouraged my pursuits and helped me seek out the beauty in life through art. They are always in my thoughts, and thanks to them I feel that I can dance through life. I think that the same can be said of everyone who had the good fortune of walking through the doors of Brighton Ballet.
BBTheatre is a wonderful organization that is multicultural and helps children build frienships, skills and most of all self - confidence. It is very well run and utilizes many parent volunteers.
Brighton Ballet Theater is not only the most professional ballet school in Brooklyn but also the place where children get necessary experience and lessons of making the world better. I have met Irina Rozin, Executive Director and Founder ten years ago and we immediately became friends. It is very difficult now to find people whose life and passion are giving to children and their future success. I have observed classes and rehearsals, performances and after parties. Every time I am amazed by the love to children each and every employee of BBT has. My children are grown now and I am waiting for the time when I bring my grandchildren to BBT-place where every child is a star
Through hard work and high standards, Brighton Ballet Theater (BBT) has earned the well-deserved reputation as the premier Russian ballet and folk dance group in New York City. It was founded to preserve and share the rich historical traditions of Russian dance in New York. BTT has not only accomplished that goal but grown into the only presenter of new choreography by emerging Russian choreographers in the country. This extraordinary company has proudly performed on some of the greatest stages such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, Tribeca Performing Arts Center WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden and many more. I have thoroughly enjoyed their performances and witnessed their growth. As accomplished as they are, we know that this is just the beginning. The future of BBT promises to be spectacular.
Brighton Ballet Theater with the leadership of Irina Roisen has become a professional children's theater which is well known not only in NYC but all over the world now. Kids who come to study ballet there learn not only to dance but learn to be the citizens of the country with best values of volunteerism, they love what they do and they really give back to the community. They bring the best of the Russian American culture to the American public at large and we are so proud to have such Theater being one of the best faces of the Russian American community in NYC.
I produced a feature story on the Brighton Ballet and interviewed its Director, Irina Roizin, and many students, teachers and parents, and also filmed the students take classes at the Brighton Ballet. Everyone we spoke to had such a love and appreciation for Irina and what the Brighton Ballet provides to the community. Many of the students had been attending for several years, and had developed a deep appreciation for dance and the arts. This organization is truly a gem in Brooklyn, keeping alive the tradition of Russian ballet and other forms of dance and providing a wonderful creative haven for children and youth.
Brighton Ballet Theater really is a gem in the world of dance education for children. The organization has a professionally curated program catering to children as young as 2 1/2 years old all the way through High School. All of my 3 children (two girls and a boy) have been attending the school since that age and I could not be happier with the results. The programs offer a tremendous amount of benefits that contributes to the child's physical and mental development. They are physically fit, attentive, respective of others, and have great postures to name a few benefits that I can directly correlate to BBT. The school is lead by Irina Roizin who has the heart of an angel and her mild but firm manner deserves respect and admiration. This is a wonderful organization and I am glad to be a part of it.
Brighton Ballet Theater is a home away from home for so many children and theor families. It provides a safe environment for children of all ages to learn the world of dance. I voluneteered by working with younger children in small beginner dance classes. No other programs have taught me as much as this one, where the other teachers are excpetional and provide such a welcoming environment. The organization encouraged me to further my explorations into the art of working with children by quiding me with helpful information and suggestions. I would highlt recommend Brighton Ballet Theatre to anyone because it will leave you with an experience like no other.
Amazing experience. I have learned so much and this school has made the dancer i have become. I love coming here everyday and dancing with the friends that i have made and tend to keep for a while.
