This organization is really near and dear to my heart. I saw the team members grow and become wonderful professionals!
After six years of collaborative work in Ward 12, Brighter Dawns continues to demonstrate the benefits of having a holistic water, sanitation, and hygiene program that serves to strengthen the community over time. The organization's ability to build meaningful relationships with the community members is a testament to Tasmiah Khan's compassionate leadership and the willingness of the team's members to foster deeper bonds of understanding. I was fortunate enough to work with the team for a few years in the past and I am confident that with their innovative and collaborative work environment as well as their commitment to their mission--to alleviate clean water scarcity and reduce water-borne illnesses--they will continue to attract individuals to join their cause. Their organizational model for holistic development through a growing partnership with the local community members is in stark contrast to other organizations that simply choose to build infrastructure without mid to long-term plans to sustain the added capacity. It was a pleasure to witness a growing start-up nonprofit organization and I look forward to hearing great things in the near future.
This foundation provides an invaluable service to underserved and deserving of the impoverished and helpless population in Bangladesh. We need to continue to support this vital and necessary organization for their noble efforts.
Amazing and so close to my heart!! I always see pictures of all the people benefited by Brighter Dawns efforts, truly priceless!!
I think this organization truly has a genuine interest to help the people of Bangladesh. I am amazed at how hard-working the advisors are and how much care they put into everything they do. Everyone was very kind, helpful, and professional when it came to dealing with the organizations activities. They never made the time spent boring though. I genuinely enjoyed volunteering with them. It really inspired me to work with them, because I myself am of Bangladeshi descent and people don't really think of Bangladesh's crisis. I hear of so many countries (thankfully) getting aide and media hype about the assistance they need, and I am very happy to know that there is an organization willing to reach out to Bangladesh, albeit small but still densely populated and in desperate need of aide. I am happy that they wanted to target drinking water, because although Bangladesh is filled with over 300 rivers and is itself a delta, clean water is a huge issue. Good Job Brighter Dawns !
Brighter Dawns is committed to building awareness of the serious water quality and access issues affecting families in Bangladesh and taking practical action to improve the water conditions there. The organization is led by a driven, enthusiastic and inspired team whom I have had the pleasure to work with as a member of the board of directors. While serving on the board I had the opportunity to work with the founder, Tasmiha Khan, the board, volunteers and the executive team on a very successful and fun fundraising event in NYC, advise on water, sanitation and hygiene surveys and hygiene training which I have a background in, and support awareness building campaigns, among other activities. Everyone that is connected to Brighter Dawns has a passion for helping others and the work of this organization - through building wells and toilet facilities and offering hygiene training - makes a measurable difference for many of the most vulnerable families in the slums of Bangladesh. This is an incredible nonprofit and very worthy of your time and support! Thank you to the team for the inspiring and essential work that you do.
The Brighter Dawns team is exceptionally dedicated, hardworking, and skilled. As a volunteer on a college campus, I was able to learn a great deal about water and sanitation related issues in Bangladesh, participate in fundraisers, and attend nonprofit team building conferences. Brighter Dawns is not only ardently dedicated to it's cause, but also dedicated to its team members.
Exceptional people doing much needed work. Not only is their cause extremely worthy, but the directors are delights to work with. Their passion is unmatched.
Brighter Dawns (BD) has the special distinction of rooting its foundation in the conviction that, no matter the physical distance, even a small group of people can make a big difference in the lives of many. Zeroing in on slum communities in Bangladesh, BD has built and repaired wells and latrines; educated the local populace about sanitation; and empowered and employed local women to continue this work. While never hesitating to address major public health needs, BD has been ever-respectful and inclusive of the needs, wants, and voices of the inhabitants of Ward 12 in Kulna and other communities like it, and tailor their efforts to meet those needs accordingly. While working with very few resources and from across the world, BD has done a great deal of excellent and meaningful work, and I have witnessed the people behind it grow their projects and aspirations from more to more.
This organization has very dedicated leaders who do their jobs despite having their normal schedules. Supporting them means a lot--it contributes to society!
An excellent organization. I would recommend everyone to join in. People do good for other people and it feels good to help those who need it!
Although I haven't had the opportunity to work with this organization, I'm proud of their services for those in need. It brings me immense joy to know that the founder and CEO of Brighter Dawns is a very close friend of mine. I'm glad that she has successfully lead this organization for all these years and accomplished what few her age have so far.
Of the many great nonprofits that I have volunteered for, I have to say Brighter Dawns is right at, if not at the top, of the list! It was great working with fellow volunteers in raising money and spreading the word about the organization. I am fortunate to be a part of the team that is working for a great cause! It is an organization to always remember and continue to volunteer for.
Brighter Dawns is an amazing nonprofit! I originally volunteered with the organization to help over the summer, but after such a great experience, I knew I didn't want to stop. The Brighter Dawns team is very supportive of its volunteers. And at the end of the day, I feel great knowing my handwork is going towards a great cause!
Brighter Dawns is one of those organizations that many need to pay close attention to for the incredible work they do around the globe. I am very impressed by the amount of hard work and dedication that the entire team has invested over the past several years. It has been a delight to watch Brighter Dawns blossom into what it has become today. I look forward to seeing Brighter Dawns expanding and becoming a household name!
Brighter Dawns is led by a bright, hardworking, and dedicated team. I believe in their vision and their work. Any and all support would be of great use.
I'm very impressed with the model and leadership of Brighter Dawns, and I am amazed by the incredible impact it has made in the communities it serves. It's also run by people who are so young, and they're always trying to find new ways to increase their impact. I've known Tasmiah for almost 17 years and she's always dedicating 110% to her special projects, and they've always gone far, so I love that BD is in good hands.
The passion shown by these youngsters and the time dedicated by them (despite having their own personal and professional challenges) in helping people thousands of miles away is most inspiring and will bring great success to their endeavours. I wish them my best as they touch lives in their own special way by improving the living conditions of these under priviledged people. Proud of you.
Brighter Dawns is great organization that is really making a difference in the lives of so many people. This organization is full of dedicated and passionate staff members that have great leadership skills. Brighter Dawns is the proud recipient of grants and awards. They are currently working on providing access to clean safe drinking water to the residents of Ward 12 in Bangladesh. The goal is to make the system self-sustaining so that they can move onto other improvised areas in the Bangladesh.
Dedication of these young people trying to help others attain basic human needs such as clean water and sanitation is truly amazing and inspiring. They teach us that each one of us have qualities that can be utilized to make positive changes in lives of people, including our own.
This organization provides more than just a product, it works to facilitate a long term relationship with the people they serve, providing education and tools in managing and sustaining sanitary environment for their present and future needs. Your dollar makes a thorough impact, due to the board covering their organization's operational costs. The people they help have a support system that they will continue to benefit from, allowing their outreach to garner further dexterity. It is an exceptional non-profit that I have faith in.
I have had the privilege to work with Brighter Dawns since the beginning. What motivated me to join this amazing organization was to see the genuine eagerness in the team to help some of the most vulnerable people in the slums of Bangladesh. Each and every member of this organization work tirelessly as volunteers and they get the work done. Brighter Dawns is a goal-oriented, very well-organized non-profit that aims to help more and more people as it grows.
I have worked with Brighter Dawns as a consultant. The teams passion to improve and be as effective as possible is fantastic. They want to grow in the best ways possible in order to reach more people and extend the impact that they have. They were a wonderful team to work with and very passionate about their goals.
I'm working on starting a chapter of Brighter Dawns at Loyola University Chicago, and everyone from BD who's helped me out has been incredibly supportive. I can tell there's a strong focus on collaboration and and earnest effort to improve the situation in Bangladesh within the group and I'm very excited to get more involved in it.
Brighter Dawn was started by a very willing, capable and talented group of students who wanted to make a difference in those people's lives who are often denied by the society. Their focus is simple- find means to provide clean water and basic education in improving personal hygiene. The ultimate goal - eradicate water borne diseases and prevent childhood deaths. Thus far, they have managed to complete three successful missions with limited means. Please join the movement, as I have, to provide the very basic essentials that we all take for granted, CLEAN WATER.
I became aware of Brighter Dawns when Tashmia was a student at Wesleyan and led our Student Health Advisory Committee. She is dedicated to the cause and is making a difference in so many lives. Her work will continue due to her passion and commitment and tireless efforts day in and day out. Support of this cause is crucial.
I found Brighter Dawns through a friend who was also starting to volunteer for the non-profit and had rave reviews about Brighter Dawns' leaders and objectives. After looking into what Brighter Dawns is about I realized that it is a non-profit that has a lot of determination and is completing some amazing projects in Bangladesh. What impressed me the most about Brighter Dawns is its ability to work across international borders and make such progress. Brighter Dawns makes trips over to Bangladesh and has volunteers serving the organization internationally. I like that Brighter Dawns is global in that sense and that the hands-on work done in Ward 12 can be supported by volunteer work across the globe. Tasmiha the founder of Brighter Dawns has been extremely accessible for me as a volunteer. If I have had any questions about volunteer work she has quickly given me guidance. There are many outlets to volunteer through Brighter Dawns and I have enjoyed using my writing skills to serve the non-profit. I am looking forward to continuing to volunteer for Brighter Dawns and observing the non-profit continue to expand and further health and sanitation in the slums of Bangladesh.
I have been working with Brighter Dawns for about 3 years. The group has grown from a bunch of interested students, to one of the most organized and well run non-profit groups in the country. They work to provide water to impoverished slums in Bangladesh and are constantly finding ways to make a bigger impact, be it through increased fundraising, outreach, or sending more people to Bangladesh to work. This organization is a great way to make a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of people, through a very simple way: access to clean water.
I stumbled across BrighterDawns quite accidentally, and became an advisor of sorts. Soon thereafter, it quickly became clear to me not only how important it was in bringing clean water to slums in Bangladesh, but I also admired the passion and fervor of all individuals involved. They are the movers and shakers of our generation. Their cause is striking, timely, highly moving and essential to the human rights movement. It is still striking to me that they managed to take this concept, build an organization, and then become one of the most relevant nonprofits I know of. I'm still moved after 4 years.
the organization mainly works on water and sanitation of slum people of 12 no ward, khalishpur, khulna in Bangladesh. it provides several related services like repairing and setting up wells and toilet and bathroom. it gives sanitary napkin among the unconscious women and also gives water purification tablet. It teaches the little children the write way of hand wash.
Brighter Dawns provides impact driven results which are powerful not only to the people it serves, but also exciting for its donors, board members, and volunteers. This rising organization focuses on sustainable development and steady growth through hard work and creative strategies.
The non profit is directly engaged in sustainable health and education program development which is rare for a non profit with such young leadership. This is why this non profit is so unique because it spreads this important message of sustainability and community collaboration among the next generation of international development leaders. And it spreads the word about these issues among the non profit world and the the people whom they collaborate and serve.
As Director of Wesleyan University's Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship, I have had the pleasure of supporting numerous young changemakers and early stage social enterprises, and Tasmiha Khan and Brighter Dawns are among the stars. Tasmiha's tenacity and vision are emblematic of a successful social entrepreneur, and Brighter Dawns has the potential to tackle a critical problem with an innovative idea that could lead to scalable, lasting impact.
Tasmiha worked in the Wesleyan University Library office as a student, and she spoke often to me about establishing Brighter Dawns and how they could grow the organization. Tasmiha is a very good motivator, and passionate about improving health conditions in Bangladesh. I have seldom met anyone with the drive, intelligence and dedication to a cause that Tasmiha has.
Tasmiha has drawn to the organization a wonderful team of energetic, committed young people, who are building an organization with real impact. The result has been a growing organization that is making a difference for people with very little access to clean water and health care. I support Brighter Dawns and wholeheartedly recommend it!
Brighter Dawns is the inspiration of one woman, but it has the potential to affect the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of women in Bangladesh. Tasmiha Kahn's vision is to promoting a human right: access to clean potable drinking water, and a secure private place for women to both wash themselves and their clothes, will lead to healthier lives for women and children, and promote the rights of women. Tasmiha Kahn's inspiration is already becoming concrete in some of the worst slums in Bangladesh and bringing smiles and hope to hundreds of women. By engaging the women of the area in their own future and working with them to insure that whatever plans are put in place come from them, Ms. Kahn is helping these women to help themselves - a very powerful form of aid that will surely endure.
Ms. Kahn's vision, energy and commitment are not unique among young people wanting to make a difference in the lives of others less fortunate than themselves. What makes Ms, Kahn's Brighter Dawns unique is the methods she uses: engagement of the women who will be most affected. They now have ownership of the wells and the washing facilities - and it will be much harder to take that away from them!
I had the pleasure of working with the Brighter Dawns group as they prepared to produce their video programming. A wonderful, thoughtful, and focused group of students making a difference in their world. My hats are off to them! Please support their cause.
I recently started volunteering with Brighter Dawns this summer, and even though I've only assisted in a few projects, the amount of work done by this organization was not only mindblowing but also heartwarming. The research, effort and time put into helping the slums of Bangladesh, specifically in Khulna, not only portrayed the poor conditions but also portrayed to me that help needed to be given, which Brighter Dawns has strived to done. I am extremely proud of the work I have done with the organization as well as the work the organization has done as a whole, and I hope to continue volunteering with this organization for years to come.
