While this organization has a long and distinguished history of providing needed service to homeless families in Arlington and Alexandria VA, I find it a bit strange and somewhat concerning that no financial information nor 990 reports have been published by this organization since the FY 17 program year. Hopefully, the financial information concerning the soon to end FY19 program year will be published as soon as possible, thus allowing prospective donors like myself to make better informed judgements about if and how much of a contribution to make to this organization.

Bridges to Independence is an amazing organization that is committed to leading individuals and families in Arlington and Alexandria out of homelessness and into stable, independent futures. I am proud to be an avid supporter of this organization and in the fight against homelessness, which is especially hard during the holidays. Now is the time to make your year-end, tax deductible donations and I hope that you will consider joining me in supporting Bridges to Independence this year and every year after.

Bridges to Independence is an amazing organization that provides hope to individuals who are facing the most trying time in their lives. Bridges provides stable housing and job training to assist its clients on their journey to independence. Bridges is not just focused on meeting the needs of their adult clients. It is also focused on breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Bridges offers a running program, leadership academy, and annual lemonade stand to ensure the children have the skills to be healthy, financially literate, and leaders within the community.

I have been a volunteer at Bridges for almost 6 months! The first thing I noticed when I started volunteering was how dedicated, kind, and caring the staff were. They took the time to train me until I understood, remind me when I forgot, correct me when I was wrong and they continue to do so with patience and care. Bridges is an organization that is run on love and service to humanity. It has inspired me to take a route in life that will benefit not only myself, but others as well. It is needless to say that this organization touches hearts and changes lives. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to volunteer and be a part of the Bridges family!

Everyone I've met at Bridges has a huge heart for homeless families in Arlington and Alexandria. The staff here works extremely hard to ensure that families can establish, and maintain, permanent housing. And the staff is concerned with far more than just housing. Indeed, the staff makes sure that kids have healthy snacks and has instituted programs to help students succeed in school. Bridges also works with adults to help them establish and meet their financial goals and reach their potential with regard to employment. I am so thankful Bridges is a part of my community!

Bridges to Independence has worked tenaciously for over 30 years helping homeless families in need of housing, jobs and child care along with hope and inspiration for a brighter tomorrow in Arlington and Alexandria. Bridges has been a beneficiary of the Arlington Turkey Trot for 12 years, and also a key Trot supporter-- promoting, registering and volunteering. Bridges is now headed by Sam Kelly, a strong, tireless and humble leader, coupled with a renovated board and caring and adept staff devoted to providing guidance families need to become more self-sufficient and independent. Bridges is an ongoing success story also due to its cadre of caring volunteers.
