Mission: To provide both financial and physical support to the various band music programs at briar woods high school and to coordinate an annual performance competition trip.
Programs: The briar woods high school marching band and the falconaires made a 6 day, 5 night trip to honolulu, hi to perform in the pearl harbor memorial ceremony and parade and a tribute performance at the uss missouri. This event, december 5-10, marked the 75th anniversary of the attack on pearl harbor. The trip included airfare, motor coach transfers, hotel accomodations, meals, passes to the polynesian cultural center and commemorative shirts for 126 students and 13 chaperones. The trip also included truck rental expense for the transportation of equipment and instruments to and from the airports and transportation of equipment and instruments to performance sites. This also included parking and gas expense.
contract instructors brought in to give small group instruction to various groups of band students. This included summer band camp instruction, summer, fall, winter, and spring drum line instruction, summer, fall, winter, and spring drill team instruction, and several sectional instrument clinics during the academic year.
the purchase of various clothing utilized by the band students including band props used during performance competitions for the marching band, drum line, and drill teams. Matching shirts for the band students, booster parents, jazz band students, pit crew volunteers, high school staff, and marching students were purchased throughout the year.
