Mission: BEARS operates and maintains both a fixed Emergency Operations Center in Cocoa, and a Mobile Communications Unit that can deploy through out the state or region to provide communication support during disaster or planned public events.
Target demographics: Public Agencies, Non-profits, and civic organizations.
Direct beneficiaries per year: BEARS provides experienced, committed, and trained volunteer communications to support the Brevard County Emergency Operations Center, the Florida State Department of Emergency Management, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in both training and disaster events.
Geographic areas served: Based in Brevard County, Florida, we are available to support communications through out the sstate and region.
Programs: BEARS exists to support, maintain, and restore radio communications for man made or natural disasters, and to provide routine communication support for civic and non-profit events.
