BHS PIF Scholarship is a unique scholarship program serving an underrepresented segment of an inner city high school in Bremerton, WA. We currently give 2- $14,000 scholarships per year to students who: are among the first in their family to attend college, have between a 2.5 and 3.5 GPA, are low income and are willing to Pay It Forward, as in the book or movie, by doing community service at least three times while receiving scholarship money. We have a Mentor Program which helps our recipients, new to the college scene, to make the most of their college opportunities. We help them throughout their four years by providing advice, a professional mentor matched to their major, and networking help. We want to insure our recipients GRADUATE from college and not simply attend for one or two years.
