I had heard but now I know Bread of Life is so much more than a food pantry. It is an intentional, caring community ministering God's love and goodness in tangible ways--local food rescue, stocking shelves, packing bags, and distribution--and praying for the welfare and prosperity of all. Each person is prayed for, greeted warmly, and given food to nourish both body and soul.I've been a part of "serving the needy" with different organizations, but Bread of Life people live out loving God and neighbor--daily. They consecrate themselves to Him and their work with purpose and joy.I can't wait to be with them again. from Job 42:5 AMP "I had heard of You only by the hearing of the ear, but now my spiritual eye sees You."
I have partnered with the Bread of Life since it began, giving both my time and financially. This is a hunger charity like no other, probably because of its unique founders and location. It is a place where not only food is given out, but everyone is loves and valued. The people there share the love of God in a very tangible way. They always lift each other up and never speak negatively of anyone for any reason. This is what makes them one of a kind.
My family and I have volunteered with the Bread of Life fir many years. It is a wonderful organization that cares deeply for the people they serve, the volunteers and the community.

Bread of Life is run by a fantastic team of compassionate individuals. Not only does Bread of Life serve thousands of the food insecure every week, but it also instils in its young volunteers the importance of helping one's community. Each volunteer sessions has new faces, and everyone is incredibly welcoming and friendly. For the last three years, I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with such an amazing organization.
Bread of Life is a wonderful organization that does God's work. They provide vital assistance to over 10,000 people throughout Westchester Country every week! The organization's volunteer opportunities also offer children and young adults an opportunity to get involved. This strengthens both the volunteer's character and the community as a whole! For me, volunteering at Bread of Life has been a life-changing experience. Just a single session will make you realize the massive impact a few hours of your time can make. I highly recommend giving it a shot!
The Bread of Life works miracles on limited resources. They feed so many people each week and have shown our Rye community the meaning of giving. They find ways for all ages to be involved and learn to be a "giver".
The best way to learn about this charity is to speak the community they help. When you work the food pantry Bread of Life proves fresh food, hope, and a community for these in need.
The entire team at Bread of Life makes it easy to help. They are flexible in their planning and so accommodating when working with others. Our group of friends participated in a Day of Giving and The Bread of Life worked around our schedule so thy could come and share what they do with the families that participated. They were clear in what their needs are and how we could help. The Bread of Life food pantry is truly such a special place.
Bread of Life works is a wonderful organization that is continually looking for ways they can get food into the hands of those that need it. The organizations is run by warm and caring people that are eager to encourage and support any and all efforts to help them. They are doing great work and it is a pleasure to help be a part of it!
Bread of Life is a wonderful organization providing assistance to over 10,000 people throughout Westchester Country every week! We have volunteered with our children and have always been met with smiles, thanks and encouragement. Being able to volunteer as a family and our children getting such positive feedback helps to encourage the lessons that we hoped they would learn. There are a variety of ways to help out and all are vital for their success. We are honored to help this organization which provides for so many.
Bread of Life is a great organization that goes above and beyond to help the community. They rescue food from local restaurants, grocery stores, movie sets, and more and deliver it to the local shelters, churches, and hold their own pantry every two weeks to give out meats, non-perishables, fresh vegetables, clothes, and more. They are so dedicated to their mission and everyone should volunteer for this organization! It will change your life.
Bread of Life is a true pillar in the community that goes above and beyond in serving those food insecure. They are a small team with a huge impact - not only serving a large amount of people in need, but bringing people and the community together through their service. In addition to supplying those in need with groceries, they provide a community - a shoulder to lean on, someone to confide in, someone to pray for them and give them hope. It's truly inspiring being surrounded by such amazing, selfless people who work so hard for the betterment of others' lives. I've worked with them for multiple years and continue to come back because I love being a part of the great work that they do!! They have great opportunities for people of any age to get involved with!
The Bread of Life is such a wonderful organization! The leadership team has such a heart for helping those in need. I am amazed that the founders run the operation from their own home. I have volunteered at many pantries over the years, but I have never seen one like this. It is truly a special place.
bread of life rye is a fabulous organization! Both of my children have been fortunate enough to help b of l with a few of their events. Its amazing how giving they are! What a great way to teach your children that you can greatly effect others lives by giving some of your time. It also teaches that when you help others, you are also helpIng Yourself become a better person. I highly recommend lending a hand in anyway you can. They are amazing people that we need so desperately right now.
Bread of Life is truly unique in so many ways. My experience as a volunteer has shown me that They are a team who loves God and loves their neighbors and community. They are exemplary because they do not compete with other charities, but support them instead, delivering food free of charge to other food pantries and soup throughout southern Westchester County. They believe strongly that loving their neighbors includes loving those working for other organizations.
Bread of Life is also unique in that it is run from a private home. The founders have literally turned over their home, their vehicles, and their lives in order to love their neighbors. This makes it distinctive, not only in its mission, but also in its structure. It is remarkable that they feed thousands of the hungry on a shoestring budget. From my years of experience with Bread of Life, both the organization and its founders exemplify integrity, generosity, and moral character. Bread of Life should be looked on as an example to replicate.
The Bread of Life organization is amazing.
Sherri , Pasquale, Sue and their entire team of members are so dedicated to providing food and support to everyone in the area , near and far, and these efforts are making such a difference.
The impact of the Bread of Life on people and this entire community has been great and especially during this pandemic time , they are helping to feed and sustain many and we are very fortunate to have this organization here right now.
Bread of Life works tirelessly to feed several thousand Westchester community members who suffer from food insecurity. As a regular volunteer, I see firsthand the effort, patience, and passion the Bread of Life team has for serving those in need, whether it be collecting donations in front of supermarkets, putting together pantry bags, or delivering those groceries to locals. Working alongside such incredibly dedicated people is very inspiring! I am glad to be working with such an impactful group.
Our family has volunteered with Bread of Life since its inception and we are so blessed to be part of the incredible work that Sherri, Pasquale, Sue and the rest of the team and volunteers do. They truly make a difference in the world by helping those in need by feeding them both physically and emotionally. Please support their cause and spread the good word!
From the Keith Family
Having volunteered and supported Bread of Life for many years we see that they truly make a difference in our community. We often do not realize how many are hungry in Westchester County. It is our duty to help and teach our children to do the same! Every dollar for this cause helps those in need. Thanks you to Sherri and Pasquale and Sue for your hard work! God Bless!
When the coronavirus hit, I was searching to volunteer for a non-profit that directly helped people in need, and I am so grateful that I found out about Bread of Life. With so many people in Southern Westchester unemployed and unable to pay for food, Bread of Life truly offers a life saving service to families. The need for food has doubled, and families and senior citizens are so thankful to Bread of Life. I have been extremely impressed with Pasquale, Sherri and Sue who work tirelessly to help others. Being involved with Bread of Life has been a silver lining to me during this terrible pandemic.
Our family started to volunteer late last year. We wanted to show our children that it is important to give back to your community. The mission of Bread of Life demonstrates just that. There are always happy faces and kind word when we arrive to help or drop off food. Genuine and grateful “thank you s”
Are always heard and our family is always happy to help.
Our Team of 18 Volunteers was both honored and excited to serve the community through Bread of Life. What an amazing organization serving 10,000 meals a week right here in Westchester County. Thank you for all that you do and we are so excited to Partner with you again in the future!
Our team **LOVED** serving with Bread of Life, so much so that they didn't want to leave! Thanks for a meaningful and fun experience.
I have been volunteering for the Bread of Life pantry and food rescue for quite a while now. What a kind and caring team that delivers this indispensable community service! I highly recommend it.
Wonderful organization that is doing God's work. Run by the most amazing group of people.
A Blessing to all is how I think of Bread of Life. Sitting at a red light on Boston Post road I saw the Bread of Life truck. I took the number down and decided to give them a call. We started helping with food drives at the local markets on Sundays. We joined the food pantry distribution creating and handing out bags of groceries to those in need. My son then joined Pastor Pasquale on Sunday mornings to pick up boxes of food from the markets to deliver to food shelters. We have meet so many wonderful, caring and giving people who love helping others. It also provided our family with amazing experiences of helping and caring for others.
Thank you Bread of Life.
Bread of life is a remarkable organization that feeds thousands in our area. Its leaders work incredibly hard to help the underserved. Everyone involved in this meaningful activity is made to feel welcome. I love volunteering at Bread of Life and being a part of something special!
The Bread of Life is an amazing organization! My family has volunteered there for many years and I love that people of all ages can play a role in helping others. Many of the local charities do not allow children to volunteer. I think it is wonderful that Bread of life not only welcomes children but makes an effort to teach them about hunger in our community. We are so fortunate to have this organization in our county.
Great organization with wonderful leadership! very easy to get involved 100% would recommend!
Bread of Life is a wonderful organization that is run by kind, compassionate, thoughtful people. My four sons and I started volunteering with them about 2-1/2 years ago and it has been an incredible opportunity for us to give back to our community. They treat all of the people that they support with such love and respect ... it’s been a great message for my sons ...
My family and I have been donating our time and money to Bread of Life for a number of years. Their commitment to their community is a gift to all they serve. All of their clients feel their love with every senior bag packed and food drive that they do. Father Pasquale and Sherri are true embodiment of their mission to serve others and end hunger. They have been exceptional partners to the local schools and have spent countless hours teaching students about their mission and the importance of helping others. You will frequently find students volunteering their time organizing the food pantry and food drives because they love to be around those who work and volunteer at Bread of Life. I feel so blessed that my family found their way to Bread of Life and their mission.
Great food pantry! Family friendly place to volunteer--it is clear that everyone here has a heart for change and is committed to making a difference!
I started helping out mainly on the days of the food pantry, about 2 years ago. I have not only connected with a wonderful association whose members give their hearts, souls, and all their time to feed the ones in need, but I have also met wonderful people who became a family to me. I feel blessed to have them in my life, for them to have welcomed me in theirs, and to be able to give back a little . A family food pantry where everyone who comes volunteering, feels more empowered and joyful when they leave, and where the ones who need their help leave with bags of food and most importantly, with love.
"Bread of life" is a wonderful, caring, and hard working nonprofit run by a pastor and his family.
I had been lucky to find this nonprofit, when I was looking to give back and help on a different level. I feel grateful to be a part of this group who really gives their hearts and soul everyday to help the ones in needs: collecting foods and donations , running food and cash drives, preparing bags of food, organizing soup kitchens, delivering food amongst others tasks this group takes care of on a daily basis. They give freely and endlessly.
Their love and support inspire us all to give back more. If one is looking to give some time to help others, feel free to join this nonprofit. This nonprofit is always looking for extra hands and us volunteers have also become friends as well.
An authentic nonprofit touching the lives of everyone it encounters.
Looking for volunteer work during the summer, a family friend recommended that I contact the Bread of Life. Signing up was made very easy by the SignUpGenius, which allowed me to select time slots that fit my schedule. When I came to my first volunteer shift, I met a beautifully diverse community of people devoted to helping others. To be a part of such a welcoming group has had a positive impact on my summer, and let me wanting to volunteer more throughout the summer. Volunteering with Bread of Life has been wonderful and I will continue to volunteer in the future. I highly recommend everyone reading this to sign up!
This is one of the most amazing nonprofits I’ve ever worked with! Sherri and Pasquale run a food pantry from the basement of their own home, feeding 10,000 people each week! Their dedication to our community is unbelievable, and I am so grateful for all they do!
The Bread of Life is a wonderful, joy-filled organization with a true heart for serving the hungry in Westchester County. Sherri, Sue, Pasquale, Carolina and Allison work tirelessly to not only meet physical needs but also to affirm the dignity of everyone they serve. They also provide opportunities for people of all ages to join in serving those in need. Thank you to the Bread of Life for your faithful service, kindness and generosity!
The Bread of Life is an amazing organization!! The team has such hearts for making a difference in our community. I have volunteered at many organizations over the years and nothing compares to this place. Bread of Life feeds thousands of people each week and our county would be lost without them.
This is a pretty exceptional charity, doing pretty exceptional work. In the very short time I was with them as a volunteer I was SO impressed at their level of organization, compassion, knowledge and humor. It will be a pleasure to support them, and I cannot wait for a chance to volunteer with them again!
This organization is great! The people in charge are extremely polite and make it easy to sign up to help their cause. I encourage everyone to participate as you may even meet a few people in the process and the outcome is really satisfying:)

My name is Lucien Overweel and I've been a regular volunteer at the Bread Of Life for about 2 years. I would highly recommend anybody to work with the Bread Of Life. The people that work here come from all backgrounds and are all very pleasant to work with. I have never had a poor experience with a fellow volunteer. Furthermore, working here makes you feel like you are directly bettering your local community which is extremely fulfilling. The SignUpGenius makes it very simple to find a shift to work in, so if you have time and want to do something great for your community, join me and other volunteers at the Bread Of Life food pantry!
As the Director of Behavioral Medicine at a Family Medicine Residency Program, it was integral to expose primary care physicians in training to an experience of learning from those that are most vulnerable; the hungry. I connected with Sue Wexler and now we have an annual tradition of volunteering during our Community Medicine Rotation; a time for our doctors to take off their white coats and foster a greater understanding of the community we work in, the health disparities that exist, and the resources that we can use to hold our patients and ourselves. This past January, I joined The Bread of Life's efforts on one of the coldest of days. All I can say is there was such warmth on such a cold day. My words cannot express the gratitude I have for all that The Bread of Life does; they nourish the community (inclusive of us) in a variety of ways! Here are some pics of us in action from last year and this....Thank you Sue, Pastor Pasqual and your amazing team; we are grateful for our collaborative efforts and action!
I was introduced to Bread of Life through a friend that is heavily involved with it. The amount of time the volunteers dedicate to the people they serve is astounding! It has given my children a glimpse of what is it means to help others and feel joy from giving back and helping others. It has inspired my children to do more which is amazing! We are very grateful for all the work they do and when we can help out we love it to! Salters family
They are such caring and devoted people who give so much of themselves and work tirelessly to help others in the community.
I discovered the Bread of Life while researching opportunities for a pre-teen volunteer group for girls. By far volunteering at the Bread of Life has been our most rewarding and enriching experience. Pastors Pat and Sherri are wonderful role models. Their dedication and efforts to make food available to those in need is awe-inspiring! They always have a smile on their faces and a kind word to say that makes those helping or receiving food feel truly wonderful. It has been a privilege to work alongside them and try to make a difference . The Bread of Life is an amazing endeavor, which has definitely had amazing results! Kris. G.
I had been looking for someplace food related to volunteer my time and had trouble finding anything. Much searching and many referrals finally led me to Bread of Life, and I am so thrilled that they did. It is well run, well organized, such a fun and pleasant place to be, and extremely impactful in the community.
I was originally introduced to Bread of Life as an initiative at the school where I work, but that first exposure to the group really pulled me in. The people who run the organization are remarkably dedicated to making a difference in the world. Since my first meeting with them, I have continued to go back to serve dinners to those in need, and I bring my 8 and 10 year old boys to package food from time to time as well. These are amazing people who do amazing things every day.
My family was looking for a chance to give back to our community and help those in need. When searching for an opportunity, Bread for Life came up in our search. We helped out at Bread for Life on Sunday's packing food bags that the organization will then distribute to those in need of help with groceries. The volunteer coordinator was an excellent communicator and made it very easy to volunteer. She recently added a "sign-up genius" account to make it even simpler to sign up. On site, the pastor who organizes the actual food pantry was extremely kind, helpful and appreciative of our efforts. It is remarkable how much time, effort, "sweat", planning and thought goes into this organization and their sincere genuine efforts to take care of those in their community. Kudos to Bread for Life!!!!
