After caregiving for a spouse with a TBI, I thought I knew everything there was to know about it. Still, I began attending the BIADE support group in order to learn how I could help my spouse. The visiting guests were informative, proactive community members who strive to help people with brain injurys regain function and learn to adapt with new challenges.

Months later, I had my own TBIs, and BIADE has been a strong supporter and excellent resource for my progress. Through the group I have learned techniques (both from members and visiting panelists) for challenging post-injury symptoms, gained fellowship with other survivors, and been inspired by stories of recovering and living our best lives. BIADE is a wonderful group of people with an excellent purpose. There is no other group like it in the area.

I have been on the board of the Brain Injury Association of DE since August 2017. I attended their conference and had lunch with a family that had a daughter who had a brain injury. After hearing their story that day moved me and made me want to get involved. I hope that we are making a difference in our state through our work.

Very selfish board who's goal over the past years has been to boost a single families image. The executive committee is short sighted (no official plan) and arrogant (will not listen to other board members).
