TBKF is an amazing organization that we have been involved with since 2015. They do amazing work to raise money for brain tumor and childhood cancer research. My daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 5 and this organization has been very supportive and we have been able to witness the money raised go straight to the researchers.

I have seen the smiles on the faces of brain tumor warriors at the annual heresvpf hope race in LA. Knowing they are not in this battle alone. Thanks TBKF for being there.

I am familiar with the people who began this nonprofit, in order to work towards the successful elimination of brain cancer. They work tirelessly to raise money for brain cancer research, as a tribute to their son and brother who died from it. Wonderful people.

I have been running the Brad Kaminsky Foundation as a volunteer since inception. Brad was/is my brother. I promised him we would never stop fighting until we find a cure to end all cancer. We have been hosting our Heroes of Hope Race in LA for 10 years and our Heroes of Hope Golf Tournament for 16 years, plus our Phi Gamma Nu Walk at Penn State and other events around the USA. Because we met so many children impacted by cancer we started the iDance4aCURE campaign to unite the dance world in the fight to specifically fund less toxic research for childhood cancer. From there, we started iSing4aCURE to bring together the music and theatre and dance community. The more people we have raising funds for research, the fast we will see effective treatments. We believe this is #OURFIGHT and that together we will one day stand together United in a CURE instead of Hope for one...

Over the last ten years, The Brad Kaminsky Foundation has DONATED over $1 Million to research, fueled by the blood, sweat and tears of the founder, along with a growing collection of committed partners. The BKF team works tirelessly and efficiently to make the most of the resources that they are entrusted with.

Honestly, as a 14 year Brain Cancer Survivor, I can truly attest to what this amazing organization offers....100% of the proceeds from The Brad Kaminsky Foundation goes to research to find a cure for brain tumors! 100%!! No joke! I have volunteered with this foundation, plus others, for years now and have never come across another organization/foundation that has that percentage! This foundation has made a huge impact on my life and the personal connection I have made with the founder/director, Lisa Kaminsky, is priceless! If you or anyone you know has been affected by Brain Cancer, this is the foundation to get to know! Again, the word I feel that describes any involvement with The Brad Kaminsky Foundation is "Priceless".

Lisa (Kaminsky) Millar is one of the most courageous women I have ever met! I feel extremely lucky to call her my friend and my inspiration. I am a 10 year brain cancer survivor (July 20, 2011) and I had the privilege of meeting Lisa last year at the The Brad Kaminsky Foundation race she hosts in Los Angeles every year to raise awareness and funds for brain tumor research. The contribution that Lisa is making through the creation of TBKF to help end brain cancer is extraordinary! Ever since my diagnosis back in 2001 I have dreamed of ways that I could give back to others the love, education, care, and tremendous support that I was given during my battle and she is doing exactly what i've envisioned! I am so proud of Lisa and so grateful that she has allowed me to help her help others!!! Thank you Lisa and TBKF for ALL that you have done and continue to do for families afflicted with brain cancer!!! I will forever be devoted to you!!!!! Love you!!

My name is Rhonda Finkel. In 2009 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I had my surgery @ UCLA. My brain tumor had melanoma cells on it. I had stage 4 melanoma on that tumor & on my arm & in my lung. I found out about The Brad Kaminsky Foundation through UCLA & that TBKF was putting on a walk / run for brain tumor research. I was so excited I got a team together & we were called THINK POSITIVE!!!!!! Lisa Kaminsky Millar who started this foundation lives in VA but comes to Los Angeles every year to put on this event .
It is a 5K , 10K & a kids fun run along with booths & lots of fun things to do with families who have a loved one they have lost to or dealing with a brain tumor currently.
Lisa comes to Los Angeles with her parents & family & interns to put this event on. No individual I know does this... travels from one state to another to help the hospitals here in LA. Big companies & corporations do but not an individual . Brad Kaminsky was her brother & she vowed to do anything & go anywhere to help find a cure. This November 8th 2015 will be my 7th year doing this walk. I was cancer free January 19th 2010 & so proud & lucky to have met Lisa & to do this walk every year. Not only does she put on a walk in LA she puts on golf tournaments , dance a thons, & a walk @ Penn State University .. Lisa is also a wife, & a mommy with3 kids.

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in May 2009. My surgery was @ UCLA & the tumor had melanoma cells on it. I had Stage 4 melanoma. In Oct. 2009 I found out about the Heroes of Hope Race for Research that The Brad Kaminsky Foundation ~~ TBKF puts on here in Los Angeles. I immediately had my family sign me up & we made a team called THINK POSITIVE. I met Lisa & was so in awe of what she does. She comes to LA from VA with her family, parents, & volunteers to put on this walk to raise money for hospitals here in LA. I was on my chemo that week but everybody believed in me & I couldn't let anybody down. I finished that 5K & Lisa was right there @ the finish line cheering me & others on. She puts on countless events: golf tournaments, dance-a thons, etc. all year long to raise awareness & funds for brain tumor research!! Families call Lisa to ask for help when one of their loved ones get diagnosed with a brain tumor because she she knows so many of the neurosurgeons so she can help anyone no matter where they live. I will always support this non-profit. Lisa does this while taking care of her husband & raising 3 children & always with a smile. Lisa is amazing!!!!! This will be my 6th year doing the Heroes of Hope Race for Research this weekend here in LA.

I have been a volunteer for TBKF for a number of years and have never met more amazing people than Lisa Millar and the whole Kaminsky family! Their foundation is truly run for the purpose of raising awareness and much needed funding for brain tumor research. It is run with volunteers only, there are no management salaries, etc., so that folks can be assured money raised goes towards its intended purpose. They will support other foundations and there are no egos where stopping cancer is concerned! I am honored to be able to work with such a great organization and people who provide support to families, friends, and those battling this horrible disease but most importantly they provide them HOPE! Their mission is clear, kick cancer's butt and they work to do that every day at their own sacrifice and I applaud them.

Those at The Brad Kaminsky Foundation are beyond compare. Never have I come across someone like Lisa Millar and her father Alan Kaminsky that put so much into a cause. Over the years I have been a volunteer, a donor and a client served. Lisa is there for people in every capacity possible. Research, organizing fund raisers, awareness and support for those in need.

More than 100% of what they get goes back out there to find a cure for brain tumors because Lisa adds to everything she does. Her dedication to the cause is tireless and impressive and I feel honored to know her, her family and the great work they do.

I have been apart of this nonprofit organization, TBKF, for over 7 years. The work of the foundation brings a sense of community and HOPE for a CURE because of the constant efforts and compassion by president and founder, Lisa Millar. I have personally witnessed the sincere dedication and efforts by Lisa Millar and all returning volunteers of the foundation. I began volunteering for Lisa weekly in her home office, yes, an organization ran from a home! Lisa's strong compassion and efforts to eliminate brain tumors is constantly at play no matter what time of day. Across the country, she is constantly in contact with many advocates of brain tumor research. Her work and achievements with the foundations over the past 13 years inspires me daily. My involvement with the foundation granted me many great, inspiring service opportunities of which I am very grateful. As my high school years came to a close, although excited for new experiences, I was sad knowing that I would not be able to participate in local TBKF events. TBKF will always be apart of my life because it has truly impacted where I stand today. I cannot wait to come home to serve more TBKF events in HOPE for a CURE.

The Brad Kaminsky Foundation is a wonderful organization that was started by Lisa Millar in honor of her brother Brad, after he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Lisa works tirelessly, to keep a promise she made to her brother, that she would not stop fighting until a cure was found and she has kept that promise... raising funds and awareness everyday in really every way possible. From Golf tournaments, to lemonade stands, to monte carlo night, to 5k/10k races, to bar crawls, and cookbooks, and dancers vs cancer, and social media campaigns, etc. She has done this in her community, as well as, across the united states. She is also a founding member of The Grey Ribbon Crusade, which united small non-profits together to raise awareness and funds. Lisa is determined to make this a cause known, and in the process has brought so much hope and so much comfort to families. Lisa also helps family members in their grieving process, she always dedicates her events, not only to her brother Brad, but to so many other warriors who have lost their battles. Lisa dedicated the Heroes of Hope Race last November to my dad, and i was able to fly out to CA to run in the race. See the 501 (c) (3) was set up to raise monetary funds to be given directly for Brain Cancer research, and the foundation has been hugely successful in their effort to do so, but Lisa does so much more for families, she offers her ear, and her time, and she listens, and she CARES, and she gives hope to people. I know this personally because over the 6+ years I have known Lisa she helped me tremendously with navigating both my mom's cancer diagnosis, as well as, my dad's brain cancer diagnosis. She even assisted me with getting scans sent to hospitals, and explained the ins and outs of the clinical trials. Whenever, I meet anyone dealing with a brain cancer diagnosis I always encourage them to reach out to Lisa because her knowledge is so valuable. Lisa has been running the foundation for 13 years now. She runs it out of her house, she has never once taken a paycheck for the over 40 hours of work she does every week. She works part time jobs, as well as, raises three kids in addition to running a foundation. She is the kindest, most caring, selfless individual I have had the honor to know. I could never thank her or the Brad Kaminsky Foundation enough for all she has done for my family and so many others for a cause that is so significant. I am confident that when I donate to TBKF that all that money is going to fund research for a cure. TBKF is truly a GREAT non-profit, thanks to the HUGE heart of Lisa Millar.

I've volunteered for this foundation for the past 5 years. I don't know anyone that works harder and is more dedicated to the cause than Brad Kaminsky Foundation founder Lisa Millar. She not only works to raise awareness and money to fund research, but offers support and her knowledge to help those effected with Brain Cancer and their families, not only in her community, but globally. She works 24/7, out of her house, and unlike many charities, you can feel confident that when you donate to TBKF that all your money is going towards funding research.

Lisa Kaminsky-Millar started the Brad Kaminsky Foundation with a promise, a promise to her brother Brad, that she would fight to raise money to help find a cure for the disease that shortened his life. She did that and continues to do that. The foundation has grown and exceeds every expectation to raise money for brain tumor research. I do believe that the Brad Kaminsky Foundation will be a big part in funding research to help find a cure.

The Brad Kaminsky Foundation does not have a highly-paid C.E.O. but a "director", Lisa Millar, who works hours and hours for free. She devotes her time to raising money through races, IDance 4a Cure, galas with auctions, and golf tournaments. She has expanded her fund-raising events to other states because her network of like-minded people with a connection to brain cancer is expanding. Her goal is one which thousands of people find worthwhile.

All her efforts are focused on providing money for research for a cure for brain cancer. Lisa is singularly focused on this goal. How many non-profits can say this?

If someone is diagnosed with brain cancer, Lisa calls her doctors at Duke and connects the newly diagnosed with a neurologist who can help.

It is an honor and a privilege helping the Brad Kaminsky Foundation.

She deserves the recognition of the Great NonProfit award.

I first met Lisa at the gym right after her brother died of brain cancer. She was grieving but determined to do something concrete to prevent this from happening to anyone else. She had started The Brad Kaminsky Foundation to raise funds for research for this disease.
In 10 years she used her marketing skills and MBA in business to do the following:
run races, run lemonade stands, organize kickboxing nights, coordinate Mardi Gras Casino Banquets, and direct beer tents at rock concerts. She does all of these things to raise money and awareness for pediatric and adult brain cancer while raising 3 children and managing a home.
She networks locally, nationally, and internationally with people who have run her races and who have a loved one with brain cancer.
I witnessed personally her calls to Duke University's neurosurgeons for consultations for patients she doesn't even know. She uses her connections to truly help people with this disease. She got patients appointments months ahead of their regularly scheduled consultations.
She always has time for anyone who needs her help or advice on moving the fight on cancer forward.
Even when her computer crashed for a month , she still was able to send thank you letters for checks received during that time.
Her brother, Brad, is her heavenly angel guarding her earthly efforts. She asks him for sunny weather for races when the forecast calls for rain. One time she got a huge rainbow at Dockweiler State beach amidst a storm as a sign of Brad's presence.

I have been a contributor to The Brad Kaminsky Foundation since it began. I knew Brad personally and followed his struggle. Alan Kaminsky, Brad's father and one of the founders of TBKF worked hard to find a treatment for Brad and ultimately extended Brad's life for a time. Since then, Alan, and Brad's sister Lisa have worked tirelessly to raise money for brain tumor research.

I donate to TBKF knowing that 100% of my contribution goes toward research. My wife and I have learned to ask solicitors, "How much of my donation will go directly to the cause?" Sometimes we are shocked to hear that " 7% goes to the charity." meaning that 93% goes to administration and fund raising costs.

Remember, when you give to The Brad Kaminsky Foundation 100% goes to research.

Lisa Kaminsky is truly a hero in a lot of people's eyes and I am so proud to know her and for the work she does for this cause and for her brother, that she lost to this terrible disease. Lisa gives of herself 100% and I know, because of her, there has been great strides made. But a lot more is needed. She holds events, like bake sales, running events, banquets, etc... for this cause. Lisa Kaminsky Millar and I worked together many years ago in the hospitality industry, where we became friends as well as colleagues. There is no one quite like her: smart, organized, friendly, warm, energetic and helpful. I'm reminded of the phrase, "All men want to be with her, and all women want to be her". Lisa and I lost touch for several years, but when we reconnected, she told me how her brother had died at a tragically young age, and how she founded the Brad Kaminsky Foundation. I volunteered for an event and was totally impressed with how the event was organized. Everywhere I turned, people were singing Lisa's praises. I have offered to volunteer for other local events, and am even considering a trip to L.A. for the annual run. I would be remiss not to mention Lisa's wonderful husband and children, who support her completely, usually with a smile :-)

I am so impressed with The Brad Kaminsky Foundation and the wonderful work done by it's founders to help provide funds for cancer research. As the Mother of a daughter who had a brain tumor (Medulloblastoma) and is now a 10 year cancer survivor, I know personnally the heartache families go thru when cancer strikes a loved one. Hopefully someday other Mothers (and families) will not have to go thru this heartache/struggle/fight...because a CURE might be found with the help of those like Lisa Miller and The Brad Kaminsky Foundation.

Brain tumors are the number i cause of solid tumor death in children and the number 2 cancer killer of young men ages 19 to 39. There has not been a major treatment advancement since surgery some 85 years ago. Brain tumors rate of occurance are mich lower than many other cancers so the research receives much less funding. It is critical for non profit foundations to provide the money for research. The Brad Kaminsky Foundation through its hard work, has and continues to put together successful fund raisers. The Brad Kaminsky Foundation has donated over $425,000 to brain tumor research. Money fuels research and research gives us better outcomes.

When much of the country was getting ready to celebrate christmas and welcome the new year, my family received the worst news anyone could ever imagine...my brother was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme in december 2010. To make matters worse he lives in Ethiopia where healthcare is so primitive and there is no such thing as brain surgery, chemotherapy nor radiation.

It was during this dark time that I came across Brad Kaminsky Foundation and met the wonderful Lisa. She helped refer me to a Duke University Neurooncologist, who then directed me to a colleague in Thailand who welcomed my brother with open arms and helped get the treatment he needed.

My family and I are forever grateful for her love, prayer, dedication and unfailing support. She has been the light at the end of this long dark tunnel and glimmer of hope when I had none. My brother is having a wonderful quality of life because of her.

I pray that all her hard work will pay off when the cure for this horrible disease is found and she can stand with her head held high and make her brother Brad so proud to have a sister like her.

I have been coordinating events and running the Brad Kaminsky Foundation for the past 10 years. It was started after Brad Kaminsky passed away from brain cancer at age 29. Brad's family and friends came together vowing to end this disease as a way to keep their promise to Brad that they would never stop fighting and that they would always help others battling brain tumors and cancer. Over the past 10 years the foundation has provided resources and support for those affected by brain tumors, worked with other organizations to raise awareness and funds, donated over $424,000 for adult and pediatric brain tumor research and works daily to end this disease.
