Braata Productions is filling a need in the ever evolving Caribbean American community for authentic reproduction and recounting of our history and culture and as such need all the support to keep the culture alive.The unbridled response to their work on and off stage, speak volume for what they do, under very trying circumstances and limited resources.Any effort to keep them on stage and not backstage should be supported!
I have been an ardent fan and a supporter of Braata for several years. I was first attracted to the organization by attending a performance of the Braata Folk Singers. I found the performers to be of the highest caliber. Every show I’ve attended since then has surpassed my expectations and has filled me with an acute case of nostalgia and pride for my Caribbean heritage. In fact, I love Braata so much that I eventually was elected to its Board of Directors, where I currently serve as Board Chair.
I was there from the beginning until now and Braata is still a great entertaining and fun pack organization. They never disappoint and always now how to please the massive. Kuddos to Braata and I am looking forward to many more years of entertainment.
As a member of The Braata Folk Singers, I have been allowed the opportunity to remain in touch with my roots. It also gives us a chance to share our culture. In one performance the audience is immersed in songs the tell stories, and dance moves which came out of slavery.
I am pleased to be with this group for the last 12 years I enjoy every moment that I get to entertain and teach. I have also traveled with the group to schools, senior centers and cultural events.
I do hope we will be able to continue for many years to come.
This organization does wonderful work in preserving and spreading our Jamaican/Caribbean culture through performance. Their productions are professionally staged - yet they work with volunteers who give of their talent, time, energy and commitment. Everything they do upholds our culture to a high standard -- be it a theatre production, an outdoor culture day, a performance at another organization's event, or their own cultural presentation. I am proud to support Braata -- and am confident you would too.
Personally I enjoy the Braata Production, a part of our culture here with us . It’s home away from home .

Braata is exactly what it’s name states “It adds more!” It’s an ever evolving organization that facilitates cultural diversity, empowerment and the further advancement of the creative industries. Over the years, the company has had tremendous impacts on the Caribbean Community and my extension the residents of New York City. With annual showcases, community outreach projects and creative arts programs, the company has strengthen relationships in our communities and our great state.
