I remember growing up attending this place and having lots of fun here passing the time with my friends. Whether going there to play basketball with some friends or just hanging out. It is nice to know that places like this were around to keep kids off the streets and away from the gang life or any other kind of trouble. Though I know that the center has gotten some bad limelight, I also know that that is not involving the kids. We as kids, used the center for what it was for, and I know that I am not the only one that wants to give a long over due thanks to you guys. Again, thank you and hopefully you guys get another opportunity to help out our youth.

Causes: Boys & Girls Clubs, Children & Youth
Mission: To enable young people, especially those that need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible adults
Programs: Education and career: in partnership with youth, parents, schools, and other community stakeholders, boys & girls clubs of el paso implements programs for academic enrichment and school engagement; targeted dropout prevention; and intervention and case management programs. Our aim is to ensure that all club members graduate from high school on time, ready for a post-secondary education and a 21st-century career. Our programs include: homework assistance and tutoring through "power hour", job readiness through "jr staff", financial responsibility skills through money matters and career exploration and mentoring through "career launch". Project learn reinforces the academic enrichment and school engagement of young people.
science technology engineering & math (stem)initiative: these programs introduce members to stem activities such as robotics, nanotechnology, solar energy and clay animation and provide opportunities for youth to explore careers in stem.
character & leadership: helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to club and communiy and celebrating our national heritage. The million members, million hours of service initiative engages our members in community volunteering and service projects; keystone and torch clubs provide leadership development opportunities; and youth of the year is our premier, national recognition program for club members, promoting service to the club, community and family, academic success, strong moral character, life goals and poise and public speaking.
health & life skills: these initiatives develop young people's capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults. Through "triple play" members learn about good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being; netsmartz teaches internet safety; and smart moves (skills mastery and resistance training)addresses problems such as drug and alcohol use and premature sexual activity.
