Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad

The Carlsbad Village Boys and Girls club is an amazing establishment and environment. My sisters and cousins have both attended and they have all been positively impacted by the caring staff and their members. The activities and great energy throughout the clubhouse has allowed my family to learn and grow in a way no other place like it has offered.

BGC of Carlsbad Village was a safe haven for me. I was bullied a lot in middle school and felt like I could only really be myself when I was at the club. We were challenged to engage with new people, stay out of trouble, and be as imaginative and goofy as we could be. I volunteered as much as I could when I got into high school, and have since been blessed with watching so many gifted children grow into their own. I’ve been employed there for nearly 5 years, but have created and shared memories that will last me a lifetime. This clubhouse encourages children of all cultural, economical, and ethnic backgrounds to be their true selves and learn to thrive on their creativity and humility. I say this from the bottom of my heart, this clubhouse encouraged me and hundreds of other children to live life to the fullest and choose kindness; and I could never thank them enough for that gift.

Bressi Ranch Boys and Girls Club Staff are great! They provide a wonderful after school program and summer camps for youth in the community. My children enjoy their time playing with other kids, trying new activities and it’s a safe and fun environment for them! Thank you BGC of Carlsbad for all that you do! It helps me so much as a single mom working full time. I am grateful for this program and how it helps my family!

My kiddo has been here since 2nd grade and she absolutely loves it. Not a day goes by where she doesn’t have something good to say about the staff or just her time there in general. Rojo and Tessa have been nothing but gracious and always very much accommodating whenever the occasion called for it.
I have never felt more confident and secure in knowing my kiddo is safe and happy in any after after school/break program.
Daily clubs, amazing field trips during school breaks, fun and inclusive activities for the kids at the clubhouse, and the communication is always open. Even small ways that the staff give back to the families, back packs, fresh fruit/veggies, and even bikes are just some of the various things the club has been able to do for the families currently enrolled.
I’m glad to have the club be such a huge part of kiddos day to day life during the week. I’m ever so grateful to have such a fun, safe and happy environment for the kiddo to go

I don’t know anyone that doesn’t love this Boys & Girls Club. If you grew up in Carlsbad Village, you’ve either attended or your parents have. The summer program is the best in North County, hands down! My kids love it because they feel seen and included on a daily basis. With all of the movement in the Village, it’s very important for the long term people that our culture is included in the narrative as our kids are raised here. This Club does a great job of remaining inclusive, from the staff to the kids. We’ve tried other programs and they just have not been as consistent as the Boys & Girls Club. Everyone in Carlsbad knows Mr. Brince and we are all grateful that he is such a great role model for our kids! Great job to everyone who works there!

My son has been apart of the Village Branch for almost two years now. I cannot thank the staff enough for all that is done for my son. He is always happy about the different places and activities that keep him engaged. Always positive energy, the Village branch has been a blessing for me and my son. I am truly thankful for the Village branch for providing a safe and welcoming place for my son.

We could not be happier with Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad Village! Our son has been going there for 4 years now, and we are so happy with the staff, the kids, the activities, EVERYTHING! This nonprofit is making a direct impact on these kids lives! Our youngest son turns 6 in a few months and we can't wait to get him involved at Boys and Girls Club too. We know they will remember Boys and Girls Club forever!

Great after school and summer program for kids. Lots of enrichment activities and opportunities for social/emotional growth. Truly an asset for working families.

It is a pleasure to write a review of one of the most incredible organizations I have ever had the honor to be involved with. The BOYS and GIRLS Club of Carlsbad-Village location has exceeded every one of my high expectations. I have been overwhelmingly ecstatic with the staff, activities and environment/culture that the BGC has provided to my two children over the past 2 years. I am AMAZED at the energy and the enthusiasm the staff provides to my children every day. My children could not be happier or more satisfied. The BGC covers every base and more!
As a parent, I endorse the BGC of Carlsbad-Village at the highest of levels and would be happy to speak personally to anyone who is interested in learning more about my experiences with this fine group of people and organization.

There are no words that would adequately describe the positive benefit I have seen this club bring to the community. I have had the tremendous privilege of seeing first hand how this exemplary staff cares for the kids. The joy is actually contagious. I went to a shaved ice event in the Village and everyone was dancing, laughing, and having the best time. I don't remember the last time I smiled and laughed so much.

I think what continues to move me is the lasting effect the club has in the community. While shopping for Christmas presents, I mentioned that I was buying presents for a family at the club. The checker overheard me and started to beam with praise. It was the help of this club that allowed her to work as a single mom and know her daughter was safe and well cared. Her daughter went through the club and went on to go to college and get a degree in aerospace engineering. The woman was so moved in telling this story that she had tears in her eyes. This is just one in a million stories just like this. The Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad is a club of integrity, heart and is true to their mission statement. And most of all it's fun!

I have been a volunteer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad for over 10 years. I love the events they have which leaves me with a good feeling they care about giving back to their community and helping the kids.

I have volunteered at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad for the past 12 years. I am always treated with respect and appreciated for volunteering the gift of my time. I love being able to help out when I can and every time I volunteer, I leave with a great sense of joy and satisfaction that I am helping make a difference in our local kids lives. What the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad have done for our young people is amazing and I am very lucky to be a small part of it.

Terrible establishment. The counselors, when they do actually supervise or interact with the children are verbally abusive and neglectful. There is no qualified medical personnel on staff, and the children spend their day getting bullied or on inappropriate technology. My child would be better left alone at home than in their care.

Bressi Ranch Boys and Girls Club is a wonderful group of people who genuinely care about kids having fun, learning, exploring and rewarding them for good behavior and academic achievements for completing school work there after school with small prizes occasionally to help keep them motivated with “Tokens of Success”. All 3 of my kids have attended Boys and Girls Club and they each love the club for their own reasons. My older two are almost done with high school but attended 1st grade through 10th grade. They decided to take summer college courses over summertime instead of attending BGC the past 2 summers but they really enjoyed going especially on the fun field trips over summer time! Everyone that works there works very hard and with a smile. They are very personable doing their best to memorize parent(s)/guardian(s) with a guessing game to tally who guesses which parent/guardian first. They have 2 people playing the game waiting at the curb for pickups which is always fun to watch them play competitively with big smiles. All and all this is the most wonderful place to have for an after-school kids care program and it’s a delight to know my kid is always excited to be there and I pick them up with a big smile each day. Bravo to everyone at the Bressi Ranch Boys and Girls Club for everything that they do! I cannot truly express my deepest gratitude of how much you all mean to my youngest, Dylan!

Our daughter has been attending the Bressi Ranch Boys and Girls Club for the past couple of years. What a life saver this program was and continues to be during the pandemic. The staff are consistent with bringing the fun while providing a safe environment for our kids.
My daughter has a best friend she adores and they get to see each other at the Club because they attend different schools. This is a place were great friendships can be made!

BGC Bressi Ranch has been amazing! My daughter started going there during the pandemic, which helped tremendously with balancing her remote schooling and our busy work schedules. We have continued to keep her at this location even though school is back in-person. Every time we drop her off, she is always greeted by the staff and welcomed. Every time I pick her up she always tells me something wonderful she did while there that afternoon, and usually is disappointed that I picked her up too early. Their camps, during school closures are also a life saver. I love that my daughter gets to spend the day doing something fun and enriching rather than having to go spend the day with me at the office. I am very grateful for BGC Bressi Ranch and their staff.

The Boys and Girls Club ha e been my trusted child care provider for the past 6 years. All 3 of my sons still attend regularly. The best memory I have is when the B&G Club made Christmas happen for my family! Without the club we wouldn't have had a Christmas at all. Thank you B&G Club!!!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad are amazing, from the wonderful staff, to the ever changing and engaging programs to the enthusiastic children that attend the after school programs and summer camps. The BGCC care about the kids, they care about the community they serve and make a positive impact on the children and the community. The clubs serve so many with incredible care, kindness and sensitivity to all.

Boys and Girls Club in Bressi Ranch has been fantastic for our children and our family. We are a two parent working family and quality, reliable care for our elementary school aged children is really important to us. Boys and Girls Club was extremely reliable even during covid. They adapted to all of the curve balls we faced and did what was best for the families. They adopted strong safety protocols and still kept the kiddos happy. My children love the staff, think they are all really nice, feel like they love kids and enjoy their time there.

I can’t express how grateful I am for this location. My 8 year old and 6 year old loves coming here. They treat the kids like family and have so many activities for them to do. My kids coming home playing games and singing songs that they learned from boys and girls club!!!

I have served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad for about 10 years. In that time, the Clubs have opened a second Clubhouse, expanded teen programming and literally doubled the number of youth served and staff employed. It has been incredible to witness the evolution of impactful, meaningful, innovative and FUN programming offered to our community. As a donor, I find the events supporting the Clubs to be well organized and simply a blast to attend. As a board member, I especially love hearing impact stories from the kids. As a parent, it's inspiring our community has a SAFE, affordable and empowering option for childcare. Donors should find great comfort in knowing contributions support scholarship and financial aid programs; and that no family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay the already extremely low program fees. Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad is a TOP NOTCH organization with well trained, very impressive staff who are truly committed to the their mission.

BGCC is the absolute best non profit to work with. They do such a great job at raising needed funds for the kids and make their gala so much fun to attend! I love supporting this cause and this particular organization.

I've worked at the Boys & Girls Club since 2005. It truly touches my heart on a daily basis to see the many young lives that are positively impacted by our staff. Each and every one of them really cares about the kids, making it so much more than just another after school program. No child is ever turned away due to inability to pay. The Club truly has become Carlsbad's social safety net, and I am proud of the work we have done in the community since opening our doors in 1952.
