Mission: To instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them leadership skills and ethical character as expressed in the scout oath and law.
Programs: Year round program serves over +20,000 youth through the efforts of nearly 6,000 adult volunteer leaders in 35 counties in northeast wisconsin and michigan's upper peninsula. Scouting's hallmark of service to others is delivered through "scouting for food" and sack it to goodwill" efforts to assist those less fortunate. 277 eagle scouts in addition to +9,300 other rank advancements recognize the accomplishments of our members. Ongoing focus on leader training has strengthened retention efforts. Continued development of our 5 camp properties serviced +5,000 members with summer resident programs.
Through its summer camp staff programs, the Bay-Lakes Council offers excellent opportunities for young men and women to realize new potentials they didn't realize the had. The training and application stages of the programs are second to none.
I had the good fortune to be involved with Scouting as a youth.
I am proud to be involved with Scouting as an adult also.
Not only does the Scouting stand for great ideals, the organization values your efforts as a volunteer.
Every Scouting event that I have been involved with was well organized and respectful of other obligations of the volunteers (family, church, work).
