Mission: The Mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Great Trails Council was formed by the merger of the Berkshire County Council and the Hampshire-Franklin Council in 1969. The traditions of Camp Eagle joined the exciting programs of the Chesterfield Scout Reservation providing great Scouting to area Scouts. Recently, the council was recognized as a National Quality Council, the first time in the councils' history.
