This is an educational, non-profit museum. Their mission is to educate and promote the history of Bourne, MA. They maintain the Aptucxet Trading Post Museum, a replica of the 1627 trading post on the banks of the Cape Cod Canal. The museum also maintains the personal railroad station that was used and belonged to President Grover Cleveland when he summered in Gray Gables, Bourne, MA.
The museum offers educational events for children and families such as Colonial Day with encampment and Wampanoag Day. Both these events are educational events where children and families have the opportunity to learn about Colonial times and living as well as Wampanoag traditions and history.
