Border Horse Slaughter Rescue

As a transporter I have to say when I arrived to drop a horse off at Border Horse. I was shocked at the conditions that these animals live in. My chicken run has more room than the horses do. Little pen made from cattle panels held up by bailing twine. The bark on the trees where she had cattle was eaten off and the cattle were thin. Cattle dont eat bark. So they must have been hungry enough that it looked good to them. Tpost which shouldnt be used around horses. cattlepanels layin on the ground or leaning against somethin. A disaster just waitin to happen when a animal catches their legs in them. Unlike any rescue place ive been to.

This is no rescue. She is just another mass bailer, scam artist and a broker for the owners of the kill pens and actions. She fundraises for these animals saying she is saving them. How are you saving the them when you are hundreds of miles away in another state? You don't see these animals, you don't see what medical care they need. You cant just take peoples donations then say they're safe...they are still in the same situation! No vetting. No medical evaluations to see what they need or pain medications...NOTHING! The animals that you do have on your tiny property, what is it you say, 60 plus horses live in tiny 12 x 12 dry lots. Maybe people that don't understand horses or grew up with them may assume that that's fine, but its not. How you can lay down and sleep at night is beyond me. Using the suffering of animals and the sympathy of your donors who truly believe they are helping is about as low as a person could be. Do your research people. There are some amazing, legit rescues out there....this just isnt one of them.

I've been donating and involved with Border Horse Slaughter Rescue. I have 58 yrs in the horse world. 52 professionally, raising, teaching, showing, managing, rescuing horses, ponies and other farm animals.
I've been so blessed to be able to be a part of this rescue. Kendra runs it so well. I have no idea how she's been so successful for so long! It's miraculous, from God is all I know.
I've been watching some horse abusers who starved and killed some of the horses they supposedly rescued and adopted thru Border Horse come after her to try and destroy this Rescue. Kendra had to go to court to save a Horse from them and get her back to safety. Another couple rescued 60 horses starved, abused by this haters group rescue called ROAR and the officials are involved, courts, animal control, PETA, other good, great rescues like Border Horse to save the horses that a woman keeps dropping off at that other so called rescue. You see them here lying, smear campaigning, try to destroy a great rescue. Don't fall for it. Go to the site of Border Horse and you can make your own decision. This is an absolute shambles parading as a rescue. This is a scam rescue who is nothing more than a broker for Bowie in Texasand the Stanley kill pen jn Louisianna. Half bails are raised on these horses and the majority are then recycled back into the slaughter pipeline. Kendra Nelson fundraiser for her personal animals. There is little to no rehabilitation of the horses on her property. A good rescue operates on transparency, shows videos of farrier visits vets, receipts and welcomes questions. None if this is fine. Dare ask a question and you ate blocked and vilified. Her property is a disgrace, contaminating her and her neighbours property with ecol. The horses are kept in tiny pens. She has no paid job and spends all her time doing lives in her truck and not showing the horses. She scams people out of money. Horses are abandoned or recycled. I have been following borderhouse for a while now. When Kendra saved a ton of horses back in March of 2024 I knew I needed to help home one of the starvation horses as I am only about an hour from Bowie. The starvation paint mare now Savior (Savy) was in pretty bad shape. She is now thriving on pasture with some great friends. What Kendra continues to do though save these animals from slaughter is nothing short of amazing.

I donated to Border Horse Slaughter Rescue last year from the UK, I donated specifically to a Horse that was due to ship. Once I donated I messaged the page to ask if the horse had been saved, quite a reasonable question but I was blocked. I continued to watch the page from a different account as I was blocked and it became apparent this was a Scam Rescue. I then saw what happened to the group of horses that were apparently half bailed and left on the lot for several weeks, they were urgently requiring medical treatment, luckily for them they were finally rescued by Rocking R Ranch & Rescue, sadly it was too late for one of them. I just wanted to warn other people do not give donations to this Rescue, please give to reputable rescues only

This is the Best Non Profit Slaughter Horse Rescue, not a trader at all but a life saver! We met years ago as a recommendation when i was trying to help save a baby black stallion. Baby was saved and safely rehomed. Im forever thankful for all the many lives and ones saved that were almost on the slaughter truck to death. . God Bless Border Horse Slaughter Rescue.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! This so called rescue is nothing more but a broker for kill pens. She raises thousands of dollars each month off the backs of suffering animals. Rarely does she even give updates or any proof that these poor animals receive the vetting, farrier or general care that many are in need of. Claims she has rescued over 10,000 horse but very rarely are these animals ever seen again. Her so called "sanctuary" is 12 acers with a home and large, donor purchased" barn. She keeps 60 plus horses on the remainder of the land in 12x12 pens. There are also 2 zebras, numerous dogs, cats, chickens, cattle, pigs and goats. Most of these animals are kept penned up with little to no training. They are not handled for halter training, for the farrier or just the most common o things such as grooming. I personally think of her as a hoarder, not a rescue. Her idea of a happy horse is a fat horse. Anyone that has been around or owned horses knows that is simply not true. A rescue should be 100% transparent yet she cannot, or refuses to show how funds are used. And if you question her about anything, you are blocked from her numerous accounts. She is nothing but a scam artist. I really hate that I have to give her a star because in no way does she deserve one. Border Horse is definitely a non-profit...because these poor animals never profit from her at all.

There is a lot of misinformation posted on these reviews by jealous hating people. Kendra does an incredible job of saving as many horses and donkeys as possible, even without having to physically take them herself. With the help of a loyal donors, she raises money to pay bail or half bail on horses that have been identified to be shipped to slaughter at a few auction houses in TX and LA where she tries to keep a working relationship in order to be notified of horses on ship list and sometimes get extensions on the deadlines. Keeping that relationship strong is what helps her to save lives even though their pratices of shipping to slaughter disgusts her. By paying bail or half bail, it makes the animals less expensive to adopt by others giving those animals a chance to be saved. The animals that have bail paid typically stay at the auction lot until an adopter or another rescue can pick up. Adopters have to prove they have the land, fence and shelter and sign an agreement that if for any reason they can't keep the animal, then she gets them back. Last thing she wants is for a rescued horse to end up in the kill pen again. She's in California and cannot easily pick them up herself so this system she's created is actually genious. Some animals that need immediate care, with the help of other local citizens and rescues are moved out of the kill pen and to a vet. It takes great effort to organize all of this from out of state while also maintaining the upkeep at her farm. Kendra is very transparent by constantly posting videos on FB. You can see her dedication, exhaustion and love for the animals.

I have followed Kendra for over 3 years now I have never seen a person so dedicated to her horses and other animals the amount of horses that the rescue has saved from going to Mexico on the slaughter trucks As for all the b s comments I have read it’s a load of rubbish it a sham they don’t help to save lives like the border horse family keep up the good work Kendra you can hold your head up high xx

This is a BS rescue that leaves horses after getting funds donated to help them from the "slaughter truck" for someone who doesn't work her and her boytoy have a new barn, trucks, panels, etc and her license is suspended by the tax board and she's still grifting money! She houses 70+ horses who don't get any training and she is not a trainer or rider, if you ask questions you're blocked from her page! Wake up America!!! Don't give to this hoarder/rescue

I've supported Kendra's mission for several years. I believe in what she does for the kill pen horses. I remember when Waylon came to the rescue. The look of defeat in his eyes was devastating. Yes, he is still alive and living his best life with Kendra. He's magnificent! I will continue to support Border Horse and Kendra.

Border Horse is a very good rescue that does things a little differently than most rescues in that Kendra only keeps sanctuary horses and horses needing rehab at her CA location. She takes on severe cases that most other rescues will not handle. She does have some horses in a QT facility/pasture that were going to ship. Most of the time she raises half bail in hopes that other people will get them because the price is lower. Kendra takes very good care of all the animals in her care. The horses that are sanctuary ones are there until the end. Kendra believes that all horses deserve a chance at a new beginning.

Border horse go above and beyond to rescue horses out of the slaughter pipeline. They spend 10’s of thousands of dollars on medical cases to get these horses well again. They don’t euthanise because that is the easy less expensive option. They throw resources into getting these horses with horrific injuries and illness well and healthy again. They get the best feed care and medical.
They were transported to the stables at the Showgrounds in winter to keep them out of the snow and mud before their barn was built. Not a small effort to organise that mission.
It’s just disgusting that people from hate groups who have one mission which is to drag down a rescue because they have a personal vendetta. People need to do their own due diligence and thoroughly check videos times dates tag numbers vet facilities to ensure everything matches up not believe doctored bits of clips on shear here say.
Hopefully this group will do their due diligence and take these untruthful reviews down. Dirtying someone’s reputation without 100% checking the facts in just plain wrong and illegal I would think.

Kendra at BHSR does a fabulous job with her rescued horses and donkeys saved. She has to combat more than she should and she and her family work tirelessly to take care of her sanctuary herd while working with other rescues to bail, rehab and place many kill pen horses. Thankfully she has a crew of donors behind the scenes to assist her as best we can financially. Myself included. She is the best chance these poor animals destined for Mexico have for a better life. She works with her heart which is so important in the industry. Just the best in my opinion

Border horse slaughter rescue is suspended by the California franchise tax board. No fundraising is allowed as of 10/14/24. This account should be frozen. It will be reported to the Secretary of State’s office for violation of their rules. The name of the account does no longer belong to kendra Nelson. It has been assumed by another individual. This person is s scam claiming 10,000 horses in 5 years have been saved. They show one picture. Many horses have gone back into the auction pipeline or sent to Mexico. Do your research.

This non profit is top notch. The haters of non profits issue false statements about treatment of animals. Border horse Slaughter rescue is the most transparent, above board rescue i know of with hundreds of horses rescued and placed in loving homes.

This so called Rescue is a scam!! I was a donor and was very disheartened at the lack of transparancy and Kendra Nelson is extremely unprofessional and wasteful wit donor funds.

I have followed Border Horse for several years. I have witnessed a very hard working person who is devoted to her cause of helping the horses who no longer have any chance left to be rescued and are bound for Mexico to be slaughtered.
Because of her huge following she also has the ability to rescue many horses with severe injuries and get them the necessary and immediate treatment required.
The sanctuary horses on her property are very well fed and receive proper farrier care and medical intervention as needed.
In addition to horses she has also rescued various small animals that needed to find a soft landing.
It is a shame that there are vindictive individuals with personal vendettas that feel they need to tear down a rescue who's only mission is to help these animals.
Follow along and watch for yourself to realize this is a rescue worth standing behind.

I have followed border horse for MANY years. I have also supported them with donations and supplies. I network for them also. They truly have a heart for the animals an have saved many.They are very hard working a dedicated to the rescue.They are honest an upfront with what is going on with the animals a rescue. Kendra is amazing. My husband and I also have a horse rescue (in Texas). She has helped us and reached out to us. Her ONLY concern is to help and save these animals. If you see/hear negativity about Border Horse, please know these are disgruntled people and are not an accurate reflection of Border Horse. This is not something she does for profit. It’s her passion!!

I ran into this rescue about a year ago. As it is close to my home, I particularly like to donate to it. I have followed the adoptions and the happiness as the horses find their forever home. The contract is stringent and in a pinch, the horses can be brought back. I love seeing the deserving and suffering dear hearts brought back to life and given either the home they deserve or the retirement in total relaxation and health till the day they pass on of old age or put down due to old age issues.
It's a wonderful place and I cannot speak more highly of them. Please donate.

This rescue collects funds for personal benefits. Rescues zebras, but doesn't allow proper space for free movement other than a 10x10 stall. The rescue seems very shady. The owner works WITH the killpen and horses and donkeys have seems to have been pulled before or fundraised for more than once. Fundraisers seem to pay for the owners personal animals as well. If a person reaches out and asks a question, they are immediately blocked from their page. Ver few follow ups on the 80 or more animals in their care. The few pictures show lack of dental amd hoof care and possible wormy bellies. Owner has multiple "fake" Facebook personalities to act as if many donors and activity. "Non profit" status is currently on hold and shouldn't be collecting funds or collecting funds under different accounts. SO MANY RED FLAGS!!!!

Zero rating. I witnessed Kendra's mistreatment of Waylon, the Amish draft horse. He was ignored, never treated by a vet, and then sold to a kill pen. She made a nice profit over the suffering of that handsome animal. I need to mention that her ranch maintenance practices are poisoning the water source for her neighbors.

Folks, please do your research and donate responsibly to organizations that are actually helping horses with rehabilitation, recovery and adoption and have open doors and transparency. This rescue is nothing more than a broker for the kill pens to fund the pockets of few at the expense of the lives of the animals that will disappear back into the sale pipeline, ship market, starve or abandoned in QT or live indefinitely in pens unhandled, while funds continue flowing in for their upkeep. Each day begging for funding for more? New trucks, zebras purchased from breeders, new barn for the dogs adopted and none neutered and zebras living in a stall while aged horses are on a rocky hillside. No clean water source and contamination grounds property that has tested outside limits for environmental safety. Equine Alcatraz.

This place is a scam. I have been here several times. I am a transporter. This place is the worse of the worse. It’s like the house of horrors. The horse are abused, starved, and harassed. This place does not even have the proper paperwork most of the time for them to legally sell them or transport. Stay far far away from this place. As I am reading reviews,I am shocked to see some of them.Most of them I honestly do not believe.Kendra has lied to me personally and a few others that have tried to adopt horses and we all have good credentials.We have now figured out Kendra would rather let horses stay in quarantine than adopt them.I feel bad for any equine that is rescued and I use that word lightly by BH.Has anyone that leaves these reviews been to her property lately or ever? What a scam rescue playing on people’s emotions for personal gain! I asked questions about how they work, where do all these horses go once out of the kill pen and I got attacked by the BH minions ������ and the next day I got blocked!! How dare I ask questions before I donate. Well of course then the digging began and God help me what I came across ������‍♀️. People please do your research before donating.

Until I found Kendra Nelson and Border Horse Slaughter Horse Rescue, I had no idea about horses being slaughtered. This horrendous act by horrible people is completely unacceptable. What these poor, beautiful animals go through is absolutely horrific and inhumane. Kendra and her 231,000 Border Horse Family followers have done absolutely amazing things saving countless numbers of horses, donkeys and mules from an unconscionable inhumane death. Kendra cares so much about these animals, she has made it her life's work. Being the head of a reputable, caring and successful rescue organization is not an easy task. We are all very lucky to have Kendra as our dedicated leader!

Please research HiCaliber and the story behind it. This "rescue" is modeled after that. There are 9500 + missing horses. This company sells right back to meat buyers or discards. ������
I use to follow and donate to this company. When I took a closer look ( due to her always talking about hater pages and all this drama ), that's when I realized it was an absolute sc*m.
Please please do your research. She bails 20-30 horses a month and only a token horse or 2 gets helped. The rest are sold right back to k* LL buyer or are put through worse situations like starvation so in a couple months the horses can be ran through again.

I feel so sorry for all the donors who donate and believe they are saving horses. In turn it it perpetuating the abuse of more. Alls I can do is bring light. I hope authorities get involved.

I followed Kendra since her first business of Leave the Gate open which later now has turned into Border Horse (an alleged non profit). She’s now located in Fiddletown Ca where her and her boyfriend have property, and yet neither one have a job ( and according to their IRS filings they do not take any compensation from the “rescue”). Since I’m not allowed to post personal details all I can say is google will enlighten you. Border Horse is now working as a broker for the Stanley Brother out of Bastrop Louisiana, and google will tell you all about that individuals history is abuse. Border Horse is not a legitimate rescue! As yourself in this day and age how do two grown adults own property, vehicles and recreational vehicles with no jobs. Many of the horses they state they have helped have disappeared much like what happened with high caliber.

Deceptive so called “rescue”! Brokers now for Bastrop making $100 per head on each “bailed” so called “saved” many of which are not leaving kill lot putting them at risk again, until more “SCREAMING” fundraisers are fulfilled for thousands thru lies and misleading fundraiser posts, manipulating the money thru MyGivingCircle, basically buying grants off of heart strings! Shes hoarding donor paid rescues on her ill kept property in Fiddletown CA including a baby donkey of which she knows nothing about properly caring for or keeping, contained in a box stall! And of which she raised money gor supposed hernia surgery but has yet to update even when asked about it or whether its even been done! No real vet reports! Some donations are being run thru accounts other than rescue account! Very little follow up to none on the where abouts or wellbeing of hundreds fundraised for! Followers harassed, slandered, blocked for asking or making legitimate comments and comments removed! Posted invoices never have name, address, or numbers on them, especially all the horribly inflated vet bills! Followers/donors asking over and over again for updates on dogs and equines whom thousands $ are raised for medical procedures! Address of rescue w debris and junk hazardously scattered about! Many reporting her!

Whilst I don't generally write reviews I wanted to express thanks and gratitude to Border Horse Rescue and it's leader Kendra for the work I have seen her do with determination and passion to save as many horses and donkeys from slaughter as she can. With her strong following and the support from donors she has saved more equine than any other rescue I have personally seen with some of the most severe cases of neglect and injuries that have had no one else step up for them. Medical cases are seen through with updates throughout and then they are placed in a forever home where they have the opportunity to learn love and kindness which may have been for the first time. Follow Kendra and see for yourself the straight talking individual that follows her path and mission to save these so deserving lives

------I have been following Border horse slaughter rescue since 2020. Even though i follow quite a few different rescues Worldwide i do find that after following then for some time i find various faults in their rescues. Issues such as what happens to the animals once the bail has been raised & the animals have been saved?, What happens when they are taken to the vets? How many animals have been saved & which ones? How do they choice which to save? Who now has the animal, has it been rehomed? Why keep asking for more & more money when you raised well above the bail price in first place?
With Border horse you know all the details. Kendra makes sure you do. Everything is up front. She mainly rescues from Bowie, Texas ( the largest kill pen in the area who ships to slaughter weekly) Kendra with the help of her followers raises money to save the horses weekly that Bowie have put on their shiplist. Once saved you get to see the freedom rides, there is a separate page for the new owners to post before & after pictures so you can see what has happened to the horses you fundraiser for & their stories moving forwards. There is even a separate page for the horses once they are ready to adopt. The horses that are taken to the vets, you get follow up videos & messages from the vet. Kendra tries her very best to save each horse & give it a chance to find a loving family regardless of ever being ridden or not. They all deserve to find love & happiness.
I also have 2 rescued horses myself & know very well the commitment involved. With Kendra & Joe there are no expensive cars, no holidays or posh houses yet the 60+ rescue horses at their ranch never want for anything & are all loved.
Sometimes they have no cell service at the house so Kendra will drive for 45 minutes to find cell service, alot of the time spending all night sitting in her car rescuing from the auction or saving from the shiplist, making so the horses go to the right homes & don't go back to kill pens ever again. Kendra, Joe & Michelle are true Angels on Earth from these horses & to the followers who support them & their cause.
Even though at the moment all i can do is repost their original posts it brings me so much joy to wake up in the morning to see " ALL THE HORSES ARE NOW SAFE". i know i have saved lives & there is no better feeling than that so i understand why Kendra does this even though it must be so stressful.

Kendra and Joe work tirelessly and have saved literally countless innocent lives from an unjust fate at the hands of human greed and mis-management. The world is a better place for a person like her.

I have only absolute praise for Border Horse and Kendra . I had the privilege of getting 2 mares from her. Both were unridable and pasture pets. She saw value in them beyond their use to humans. Both my girls would be dead now in a horrific way if not for Kendra. I cannot say enough about her and the rescue and the followers she has amassed. The lives changed due to her and her rescue are immense. Each and everyone so deserving.

Kendra and Joe go above and beyond to make sure their horses and donkeys go to great homes. The ones they rescue from the kill pen get top notch vet care and care for whatever they may need. Kendra is very transparent about what is going on with/at the rescue and let’s you know where every dollar is spent. They truly are Hero’s on the horse rescue world!!

I have been a follower and supporter of Kendra and Border Horse Slaughter Rescue for some time now. The compassion Kendra has for all the horses and donkeys is heartfelt. She spends countless hours, every day, making sure the abandoned, abused, seniors and babies are rescued from multiple kill pens in the US. She ensures they receive the best medical care (if needed) and amazing, forever homes where they will receive the best of care (many times a first for these defeated animals). You could not find a better horse rescue than Border Horse Slaughter Rescue...They go above and beyond to save horses/donkeys from the kill pens..

Unfortunately, Kendra gives herself entirely to much credit to think I sit around and make up crap to talk about her sorry behind. This is my experience it is Not a smear.. She is a Broker for Bowie and that's a fact. She takes unsuspecting peoples money by working for and inflating the cost of the horses. Say it like it is.. And after speaking to numbers of people with similar stories it's amazing a bunch of people from all over the country that have never met one another have also been scammed by her fake rescue. I bought it hook line and sinker at first, I'll give her she is a good used car salesmen. So you keep pretending, and call it what you will. You know and I know what you do... Your a BROKER not a rescue. Horses aren't your business, Greed and Money are.

This is a sham! BHSS is a kill pen broker babe for Bowie. Here is a hairdresser. without a job, who gets a profit for selling kill pen horses. Ask her to be accountable for the horses that were "saved" yet no one knows where they are! She doesn't like what you say or question how someone who doesn't work can buy a house, acerage, trailers, trucks, tractors, hot walkers, round pens etc and you get deleted. Sadly this place has people who think she is golden, because she deletes all the comments from the people she screws over! She claims to be a 5013c...lets see some real proof where these horses end up and they ones she rescues she inflates the price tremendously so she can get a cut of it! It is a real shame to the true rescues out there.

Kendra will ONLY ‘help’ horses from the Bowie Kill pen when she lives in Fiddletown, CA. It’s 23 hour drive to rescue where other places and needs are right next door. Why you may ask? Because Bowie pays her to do all her crying and call to raise money so they can sell their horses. The prices they ask and get are way way way above slaughter costs…thanks to Kendra (and a couple other girls)! Don’t waste your money like I did!

Unfortunately my first review was deleted. I thought a review was based on personal opinion. I feel Border horse Slaughter Rescue is run by a trader and broker. I had a horrific experience after spending over 3 thousand dollars baling 3 horses. Red flag was when the person that runs the rescue indicated the horses would stay online. Why I asked myself? Because it puts more money in her pocket by working for said Auction house. Then the one mare was shot by David. Go back and find the video. She never left Said auction house and ended up being killed because she should of went to a vet, but instead no medical care and her leg broke due to major infection, causing her bone to break in half. Shame on you said broker. So once again, let’s see how long it takes for this one to be deleted, since she has all the control to do so. Last one stayed less than 24 hours. I will continue to give my opinion because this was my experience!!!! If you were a true rescue you would leave all comments up and change your practice. Thank you, this is my experience!!!! Her number was 6619, I’ll never forget.

Horrified by what I saw while picking up an adopted horse. This a for profit business not a non profit.

Kendra is a broker for Bowie, I found out when I personally pulled multiple horses through her as she consistently told me to pull through her only and not through Bowie. Once I had the horses, they were much more severe medically then represented and I was offered no medical assistance or help through her so called rescue. When questioned, my comments were immediately ignored or blocked as was my profile from her Facebook. She has proceeded to slander myself and others who have exposed her lies and fradulence. Additionally, she brings in more money than required for bail and medical, which I can prove as multiple donors have asked me about the animals I have that they assisted or paid for in full along with myself to Border Horse. Additionally, she uses astronimical amounts needed above and beyond true costs of veterinary care. No one knows where the horses go or end up as there is little to no follow through. If you follow long enough, you will see Kendra consistently will tell different stories, as she is unable to keep her own lies straight. Walk, no run away from this fradulent rescue.

Some of the “homed” horses disappear. Actually a lot of them; no updates in 90% of these, and no follow up. Where are they??

This operator is a paid broker, working for the Bowie Killpen to sell horses. Not a rescue; but a broker.

Thanks to the very interactive and impressive reach they have on social media (unlike any horse rescue I've yet seen), I was introduced to their mission of saving horses from the kill pens. I felt comfortable enough after watching many of their posts for awhile to reach out to them about bailing out 4 horses from Bowie's in TX. Not only was this my first experience getting a horse, but a rescue as well--and 4! I'm also located in CA so Kendra helped coordinate getting them to quarantine, then the transport to CA. My intent was only to foster them, but of course I fell in love with them immediately. Showered them with love and treats and they are all amazing horses. Had some medical issues early on but I was expecting that, and I texted Kendra many times to take advantage of her vast horse knowledge and she saved me from a few vet bills with her timely and kind suggestions. She really cares about the horses and it is so obvious. I continue to support however I can, to include donating sales of my book, 1000 Nights: Death's Love Letter to Afghanistan.

Love the work they are doing and she is a great role model for me, someone who will also have a non profit one day. Empathy overload is huge in lines of work like animal rescue and I honesty don't know how Kendra does it all, constantly battling the endless ship-to-slaughter lists, fundraising, and providing care for the horses she brings to her site.

I absolutely love this rescue, she dedicates her life to saving not just horses but any animal she comes across who needs help. Thousands of horses have gotten second chances because of the sacrifices she’s made.

Border Horse is an amazing Rescue, it’s ran by Heart and Soul! Kendra And Joe work tirelessly, with the help of Donations, Saving, Rehabilitating, and providing Sanctuary to hundreds of horses, donkeys and other animals. Definitely a labor of Love. This is the only horse rescue I support monetarily.

I came across Border Horse Slaughter Rescue a couple years ago and started to follow more and more on the passion and hard work Kendra does and puts into saving more than we can count of horses that all deserve second chances. The heart and time she puts into the passion of what she loves to make sure every horse gets what they deserve, watching her with the countless nights staying up all hours to make sure no horse is left behind to driving to Texas for transportation and to ensure horses are well taken care of, I haven’t seen a person more Dedicated to what she loves doing than Kendra. Working to make sure all the horses at the rescue has everything they need or even the ones who need vet care are rushed and cared for without any Hesitation. Kendra is willing to go up and beyond to help a horse in need and to also find that right home or even to help someone that is willing to try their best to adopt a horse in need, Kendra will make it happen!!! Most honest and trusting person you will ever meet with a heart of gold, I’m so glad I had the pressure of meeting her and also adopting and saving horses with her, Kendra runs the most honest rescue and puts all her Dedication, time and effort into runs an amazing rescue! No horse left behind is something she truly believes in and fights to the end !!

I was searching through Facebook two and a half years ago and ran across Kendra Nelson's at border horse slaughter rescue on a video talking about her rescue how she gets horses off of the slaughter list in Texas so that they don't have to go to Mexico or Canada to be slaughtered a horrible death talking about how she brings them to her rescue has the vet come check them out has the hooves looked at how she feeds them if they are starvation cases if they are adoptable she posts pictures of the ones that she has after she rehabs them the ones that are too ill that cannot be adopted out she keeps as sanctuary horses so ever since then I have donated my time and money to help this rescue and I will do so until the day I die

I have followed and been a supporter for a little over a year now. I can't tell you how much it means to me to be a part of a group that truly is all about the horse and welfare of the horse. Borderhorse has an amazing founder In Kendra Nelson! She rallies nonstop to save those without a voice, the most critical first, never giving a second thought to how long it will take to rehabilitate, how much the vet bills will be, dedicating her all to make it happen 24/7. Putting the horses welfare 1st. I feel honored to be a small part of fighting for the greater good, a group where ego and opinions have no place and we are all about the mission statement "NO HORSE LEFT BEHIND ".
