It has been nearly ten years since I visited Border Angels. What began as a "simple" delivery of donations has had a lasting impact on my spirit and soul.
In August of 2014 I decided to collect various items for donation from various church folk in Northern California to Border Angels. I had figured on a quick drop off and I'd be on my way back home. Little had I anticipated the warm and gracious welcome of the Executive Director and a number of staff members who spent two days showing me the entire scope of the work being done by this amazing organization. I was blown away by the many activities and involvements of this agency operating on a shoe string.
I carried word of the work of Border Angels back to Northern Califirnia to encourage ongoing support and involvement in the truly sacred work of Border Angels.
I have been in awe of the great work this organization performs. They provide much-needed support, resources and services to a vulnerable and often targeted population. I know that my donations go towards making a difference in the lives of many.
I live in an area where Border Angels are very active (in Tijuana, literally on the border by the wall) and have witnessed directly the incredible impact their work has in providing vital material and psychological support to people struggling due to displacement - thank you for all your love and care.
Working with Border Angels has become a defining experience of my life. (The only reason I do not anymore is that I moved very far away from the border!). During my volunteer time with BA, I participated in the Caravan of Love trips to deliver supplies to shelters in Tijuana. During our stops, we were able to play with the children, leading them in games and art projects. Folks with medical or legal knowledge were able to provide services. Bilingual folks were able to translate and talk with the refugees, allowing them to share their stories with people who care. It was extraordinarily humbling for me to learn and help in such circumstances. In addition, I met so many volunteers who were good-hearted and with like-minded goals. I also got to practice my Spanish, which is only so-so. Ultimately, it helped me feel like I was helping people who deeply needed it, and, as an added bonus, I got to meet new amazing volunteers. I would do this again in a heartbeat if I moved back closer to the border. Border Angels are an incredible team, and their work has shaped me for the rest of my life.
I support Border Angels as a volunteer and with financial support because I have observed the impact of what they do. With a small, dedicated, and effective staff, Border Angels focus on a clear and simply mission: support and care for migrants around the border. Whether passing out food and water to day laborers or coordinating a Caravan of Love to shelters in Tijuana, I am always impressed with the caring and positive approach to their work. Their strong reputation brings volunteers from around the country to participate in activities which is amazing! An exceptional organization deserves your time and support.
Not everyone can be on the front lines of the issues that are closest to our hearts. I appreciate those who can and are willing to do the work, both physical and ethical, that I can not do myself. I have supported the work of border angels for over ten years. Thank you so much for everything you do.
It is my pleasure to report on my first six months as Executive Director of Border Angels! I have learned so much from my meetings with the Consul of Mexico, Riverside County Children Services, Border Philanthropy Project, and working with the dedicated staff and board of directors. Whether we are advocating for day laborers, conducting a water drop, or providing education programs at schools and businesses, the goal is clear. We are here with a message of love, promoting social consciousness, and engaging in direct action to defend the rights of men, women and children needing our help. Thank you to the 600 or more volunteers that make our programming possible. You truly are Border Angels!

I’ve been volunteering for Border Angels for over 7 years. Helping out the community, assisting with delivering food to migrant workers. This is a great organization and I believe in their cause. I hope to continue to be part of their mission and see them continue to spread their love for our people.

I began being a donor and volunteer at Border Angels years ago. It has been in existence for over thirty years. Border Angels not only saves lives by placing jugs of water and food along paths through the mountains and desert, they give financial and physical assistance numerous shelters who serve thousands of international immigrants every day. They also provide legal aid, educational programs for both children and adults, give support to laborers and even return home the bodies of those who die risking everything for a better life.
