Mission: To promote guardianship and provident management of big game and associated wildlife in north america and maintain the highest standards of fair chase and sportsmanship in all aspects of big game hunting in order that this resource of all the people may survive and prosper in its natural habitats.
Programs: The records & publications programs keeps the records of native north american big game for the purpose of providing a vital conservation record of excellence in specimen quality and linking it with both excellence in habitat management and wildlife management practices that produce such specimens and excellence in hunting skills demonstrated by the taking of such specimen in a manner that fully complies with the club's fair chase code. The club also organizes recognition programs to honor specimen quality, hunter skills, sportsmanship, and management practices that produce quality wildlife populations. During the year the organization processed 2,058 record entries. Two official measurer workshops were conducted in missoula. In addition, b&c's publications program released boone and crockett club's 29th big game awards in the fall of 2016. Marketing efforts for this book focused on direct-to-customer direct mail and email campaigns, which continued until the title was sold out. In addition to the release of the awards book, the publications program worked on the development for the 14th edition of records of north american big game (november 2017 release date) and the club's first ever text book, north american wildlife policy and law (may 2018 release date). Publications produced two marketing catalogs as well as supporting email marketing campaigns. Lastly, we populated the club's new website with nearly 500 pages of content.
the outreach program conducts a variety of programs that aid in the overall growth, strength, and fiscal responsibilities of the club by scouting for or creating opportunities to expose the club's core values to the hunting and outdoor community. The program increased the organization's facebook fanbase from 250,000 to 315,864, and instagram fanbase from 24,500 to 36,000. Youtube watchtime minutes were 624,929. The organization als distributed 28 press releases, formulated and distributed 2 position statements, 1 op-ed piece, and signed 90 sponsor agreements and 3 licensing agreements. Most of the year the focus was on preparing to launch our pass-through campaign known as hunt right; hunt fair chase.
associates program - provides services to associates to promote hunter ethics and conservation through education and demonstrations. During the current year the club published 4 issues of fair chase magazine for 6,152 associates and 1046 lifetime associates.
