Mission: Body Positive began in 1989 as a peer counseling resource center for individuals who were newly diagnosed with HIV. With the introduction of protease inhibitors, Body Positive realized the need for a wellness center to help combat the strong side effects of the drugs. Today Body Positive exists to help combat side effects from powerful drugs. We believe that with proper nutrition and exercise, HIV+ individuals as well as those with other debilitating diseases can improve their health and quality of life. We also offer chiropractic and massage therapies to relieve stress and painful neuropathies from drug treatment. We continue to offer peer counseling groups and community forums.
