The Bobby Joe Mason Golf Foundation was founded in 2009 by Centralia native, Dr. Shelvy Haywood Keglar because he had a dream to continue the legacy of giving back to the young people in the community. He wanted to be a part of ensuring that the youth had a chance to pursue their dreams with some financial help. This foundation has been extremely instrumental in raising funds for the sole purpose of assisting the young people in Centralia. In addition we have some great major sponsors who have partnered with us to help make this event a success each year. We are grateful to Correct Care Solutions, Headliner Market Group, Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success and Mrs. Bob Jones for their contributions. Each year after the annual BJM golf tournament held in Sandoval, Il at the Colonial Golf Course athletic stipends are given out to individuals, sports organizations and youth centers who have submitted applications. In addition each year two Bobby Joe Mason Scholarships are given to 2 Kaskaskia College students.
