Mission: Blue earth nicollet county humane society (benchs) is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving homes for lost, abandoned and neglected animals. Benchs is a regional non-kill shelter serving the needs of the greater mankato area.
Programs: Applied human principals to animals. Fostered and developed the care and humane treatment of animals, owned property for the purpose of operating an animal shelter for the care and disposal of animals, educated and assisted in the promotion of humane care of animals. Homes were found for over 700 cats and dogs in 2017.
we provide the facilties for blue sky veterinary services to hold their mn snap low income spay/neuter clinic several times throughout 2017. This was at no cost to benchs.
pet food was provided to low income families as often as the food was available. Food used for this program was donated to the shelter.
