Karen & Bless the Children are such a gift to so many Honduran families & communities. I was fortunate enough to visit the school high up in the mountains in 2023 & 2024 - the educational opportunities that this organization has provided has positively impacted the future of the children there. I felt the immense gratitude of their families during our visit. Thank you Karen for not forgetting these precious children.

We visited the school at the top of the mountain in Honduras. It serves 10 communities where children in the past could not go to school after 6th grade. The teachers, students, and families who were on vacation at the time returned to the school to meet us. They danced and sang for us.
We were greeted with smiles and hugs.
The kids were so excited to go to school. They were graduating and making a difference in the community and breaking the cycle of poverty

I went on a mission trip here in November to this well run school in mountains. What a blessing these beautiful children are and teachers who are dedicating their lives to their future. Thanks to the Bless the Children partnership , they provide the tools for their success to break the cycle of poverty. We saw first hand what a difference they are making.

Been supporting BTC for over 20 years as it strives to make a better world for thousands of children living in extreme poverty. One of BTCs greatest accomplishments was the funding and construction of the John Grove school in Honduras. This school has not only facilitated the education of thousands of children and their families, it has provided an avenue out of poverty resulting in a chance for a more productive life.
BTC accomplishes all of this goodness due to the never give up, service before self mentality that Karen and Rebecca bring to this calling everyday. If your looking for a nonprofit to support, BTC checks all the blocks - low overhead, expert management, 98% of donations go to the mission, and a results oriented proven winner!

After my brother retired from active duty in the United States Air Force, he devoted the rest of his life to bettering the lives of those less fortunate. Whether it was a clean water project in Thailand or providing for higher education in Honduras, he did not just dream about it – he did it. He knew he would need the help of people familiar with the red tape of doing charity work, especially offshore. Enter Rebecca and Karen with Bless the Children, Inc. (BTC).

Rebecca, Karen, and my brother, USAF Ret. Major John Grove, formed a partnership that endures still today, sixteen years after he passed away. Working together, they made it possible, for the first time in history, for the children of the Mico Quemado mountain region in Honduras to reap the benefits of a higher school education at the John Grove High School (JGHS).

The BTC/JGHS has gone through many changes since it began in 2006. With continuing support from John’s associates of the former Air Commando Association, and friends and family, BTC has made it possible for the JGHS to grow from a remodeled wooden shack to a permanent concrete block structure. Without Rebecca and Karen’s guidance through BTC, the John Grove High School might never have gone beyond a dream. John knew he had picked a great team, and I know, years later, that he was right!

I have known Karen Hubbard since before she conceived the idea of Bless the Children. Karen has a heart of gold and her daughter, Rebecca, is following in her mother's footsteps. I quickly recognized the worth of Karen's efforts. I was on the staff of our church and decided to offer our help in support of Bless the Children. For about 10 or 12 years, until I retired, we made trips every 2 years o Nicaragua with doctors, nurses and other helpers, to conduct medical mission work. We collected donations of clothing, school supplies and money for medicines to help the people in remote villages who desperately needed our services. We spent most of our time in the mountains. On the first trip we visited a fledgling one-room high school, the only one of its kind anywhere near that area. We watched it grow, under Bless the Children's guidance and support, until now it is a multi-room building, with multiple teachers and a full curriculum. The students who have completed their program have a much better chance of a career that supports themselves and sometimes others in their families. They would be struggling if it were not for this chance to further their education. I am retired now, but I still support Bless the Children. It is one of the most rewarding experiences of my work and my personal life. You can't go wrong by helping children who might otherwise be struggling to survive extreme poverty in the mountains of Nicaragua. Thanks to Karen and Rebecca for blessing so many children.

I first heard of Bless the Children almost 20 years ago. I heard how it has done great things in many parts of the world, but I am not personally familiar with most of them. However, I am personally familiar with the John Grove School in the mountains of Honduras. The "legendary John Grove", a retired United States Air Force pilot teamed up with the Bless-the-Children non-profit out of Clearwater Fl and built a school almost in the middle of nowhere (up in the mountains.) They gave hope which is probably the best gift you can give to folks who eked out a living picking coffee beans in the jungle. The gift was that there was a chance for their children to have a better life through education. John died a few years later but Bless-the-Children kept his hope and the school alive. Every year there are more students in the school and the graduation list keeps growing. The standard of living in the area keeps improving. Graduates of the John Grove school can move to towns and get jobs and help their families standard-of-living improve.
Although many individuals helped this happen, the continuity of all this for the 20 years has been Bless-the-Children (and the oil keeping Bless- the- children running is Karen and Rebecca.) I have it easy, all I have to do is send money. Bless-the- Children does all the work! Run the school, improve lives, and give a part of the world hope that never had it before. I'm proud to be a doner to this school, this non- profit and this cause.

On a recent trip to Honduras, I was able to visit the Bless the Children school and meet some of the students, teachers, and, staff. The students are eager to learn and embrace the instruction that is being taught to them. As a former school librarian, I know how impactful having community and family participation in the education of students is and that is evident here in the schools. This caring environment is coming from the many donations and love poured into the community through the education of the students. Karen is doing an amazing job with these students and her love will bring about systemic change within the community. Cannot say enough positive things about Karen's impact on this school and small community in Honduras, she is definitely a God send!

I have known Karen Hubbard since childhood and it was no surprise to me when she founded a non-profit charity in order to help those who are less fortunate than others. I have been sponsoring a young girl named Maria througn Bless the Children for several years now. Thanks to all the pictures and the occasional letter, I have been pleased to see her grow from a child in the dumps to a smiling pre-teen. I like to think I helped just a little with my monthly donation to her. Karen and her daughter, Becca, are quite a team and I feel blessed to have them in my life. Keep up the good work, ladies. Bless the Children does such incredible work every day, month, and year! I’ve been supporting them for a dozen years, and the newsletter lets me know how these children’s lives have been completely enhanced by the John Grove School, and how they are able to become nurses, teachers, etc. because of my and others donations. I will continue my support, and look forward to hearing what’s next in their plans to truly bless the children by giving them a real future full of satisfaction and happiness.

“Bless the Children” pictures, news, information makes my heart sing every time. The blessings that Karen Hubbard’s leadership, love, care, prayer, dedication, hard work, patience and perseverance bring to BTC are nothing short of miracles. But the people of the mountains of Honduras deserve all our praises. They’ve no financial means, but their hearts are as big as their mountains and their giving of their hearts, hands and feet are copious.
So many things, such as the right to education, are so taken for granted in many of our wealthier countries. For our Honduran sisters and brothers, its not an assumed privilege. What donors like us do is to give them a Hand up, and not a “hand out.” They are given Hope.
I’ve had the privilege of doing mission work 18 times in Honduras. And we’ve always received much, much more than we gave. The people of this country fill my heart to overflowing. I can’t express adequately what Bless the Children does for these lovely, beautiful farmers of the mountains.
I urge anyone that can give freely with your heart and hands and checkbooks and prayers. You will reap the benefits of your heart being filled to overflowing.
In my opinion, Bless the Children is a premier non-profit organization.

What an incredible force these women are. They tirelessly and unselfishly work as a united team in order to save and better the lives of children from so many impoverished countries. Imagine helping children go to school ( that Bless The Children has established) rather than picking trash in order to eat and live.
These children are given a chance to realize their potential and realize that something can be done about their situations. And this is done due to the fact that Karen Hubbard has established schools for the children and provided uniforms, and necessary tools for education. Then the kids go on to specialize in their choice of profession and become contributing members of their society. What Bless the Children has created over the years is nothing short of miraculous.
They are not a huge organization, they are two dedicated and loving woman who devote themselves to saving lives. They are to be recognized and acknowledged and helped. God bless them.

These ladies have been saving thousands of lives over the years. Children who would otherwise be picking scraps from the trash are being educated through the schools that have been built. And they have educated children up into various professionals who are now contributing to their communities. They feed, clothe and and educate kids and in turn they have the love, energy and confidence to become helpers in their own rights. What a rewarding, win win situation Bless THE CHILDREN has created!! Thank you Karen and Rebecca for all that you do and all that you are! Much love, Janet Jensen

Karen and Rebecca manage the John Grove Memorial Fund expertly, keeps us informed with newsletters, pictures and stories from the school and their caring for the Mico Quemado Mountain children is evident in all they do. This ministry is honest, and dedicated to serving the less fortunate children. They communicate regularly to show where they are working and what they are doing. I have met the staff and seen their small modest office and know first hand after much research the most funds go directly to helping children. They made it so easy to sponsor a child from Hope Orphanage in Kenya and keep me updated all the time on my adopted son. It is a small staff and they put in many hours to get all the work completed.

Bless the Children is such an incredible organization. They serve so many children in need all over the world. Myself, my family, and my Rotary Club have supported them for years. I was able to go on a mission this April to Honduras and was fortunate to visit the High school in the mountains that Bless the Children built to serve 11 communities. They are graduating students, and they are making a difference in serving in their communities with the education that they received.
My dad also supports seven orphans in Africa and we get newsletters about these kids thriving by receiving food, a bed, and an education. Bless the Children advocates and supports a whole orphanage in Africa.
Bless the Children continually packs shipping containers full of clothes, food, shoes, toys, and household items to be shipped to Central America and Jamaica. They provide hope and necessary items to so many underserved people. Karen who runs the organization has been selflessly and tirelesssly working to change lives and identity poverty.

A charity that makes the absolute best use of a donor's contribution to help the poorest of poor children!!

When I worked for the federal government, I did very detailed search (through the "combined federal campaign" charity publication) to find the few charities that did the following: (1) provided for the poorest children living in the poorest parts of the world; (2) did this in the most amazing ways; and (3) had very-very low administrative overhead costs. The only one I found (meeting my tough standards) was Bless the Children.

Because Bless the Children even exceeded my expectaions in all of the categories, I started to voluntarily approach others for donation-checks that I send to Bless the Children. I continue to do this to this day.

If helping the poorest of the poor children is what you desire your money to go towards, I very strongly encourage you to consider Bless the Children.

Bless the Children Inc is an amazing organization that does such vital work among those who would otherwise receive no help. I have known Karen Hubbard and her family for well over 20 years, when they lived in Virginia and we attended the same church - Church of the Epiphany in Richmond. I saw first-hand the work that Bless the Children was doing right from the start. I saw the work of many of the parishioners, local groups, sponsors and other supporters who made sure that shipments of supplies were sent to the countries they were serving in Central America. I love receiving the quarterly communications from Bless the Children and am so grateful to see how this organization has grown to be able to help so many people receive an education, get jobs, feed families and provide health care. When you support them, you'll see for yourself through their updates the photos and stories that are testimonies to their ongoing help in the lives of the people they serve. It's so encouraging to see many of those people who have been helped by Bless the Children begin to serve themselves in the organization and help many others to improve their lives. I recommend this organization as a highly trustworthy one, where your money will actually reach the people you want to help and not be spent on large overhead or be encumbered by local governments.

BTC and in particular Rebecca Smith and Katherine Hubbard are the dream team that make dreams come true for children who might have forgotten how to dream. Though I've never met them in person, I met them through a very dear man, John Grove, self-named "the one-eyed fat man." He'd always sign his emails that way too OEFM, from Rooster Cogburn. His story is longer than the BTC, but in a few words, after a medical retirement, he donated his entire retirement paycheck every single month to start a school in Honduras. He with the help of the Rebecca and Katherine dream team did so much more, but those few words capture the 100% give... 100%. Not a few dollars, not a few hours--he gave 100% of his paycheck every single month. John never saw a piece of trash that wouldn't repurpose to something those children had never and would never see--an opportunity to learn and grow and contribute to their community. It takes dozens to do what John did solo for so many years. Still--they take nothing off the top of their service and your gift contribution. I hope to meet Rebecca and Karen someday. I want to hug their neck as I cry tears of joy thinking of my friend John OEFM Grove and all they did before I could start to give. God Bless you and thank you.

My husband and I have been donors and volunteers with Bless The Children (jBTC) for 20 years. We have seen some of their incredible work as Joe, who is a PA, was part of a Medical Team for our church for many years. The team spent a week each year visiting the families in the villages of the Mico Quemado Mountains of Honduras. Bless the Children built and continues to support elementary and high schools in that region. These schools provided meals to the students. In both the building of the schools and the meal program, BTC engage the community where ever possible. Many students have graduated and Bless the Children has helped them continue their education. Karen Hubbard, the founder and CEO has a special gift for connecting with areas of the world that have significant need. She visits those places to see 1st hand what they needs are and then sets in to motion the actions and resources to fill those needs. After providing those resources, she often goes to that country or has someone local who is ensuring that the supplies are being used to serve those in need. By our visits to Honduras, we know the work of BTC has been life changing for the communities of the Mico Quemado Mountains and are confident our donations go directly to those in need.

I am an attorney in Virginia. In approx. 1994, I heard about Bless The Children's efforts to assist children in various parts of the world.
After appropriate inquiries, my financial support of this ministry began, and continues to this day.
BTC is one of the highest rated charities on Charity Navigator. All but about 2% of donated funds go directly to those in need in foreign lands. I have designated my funds in recent years to the work in the mountains of Honduras.
BTC has provided shiploads and truckloads of medical and educational supplies to the neediest of the needy there for decades. They just completed the construction of a modest school building in the Mico Quemado region.
Hundreds of impoverished children there have received medical care and educations through BTC's efforts over the years.
God's grace has been abundantly shown over the decades by the amount of aid delivered by so few; and administered by even fewer. I believe that God continues to bless this ministry's efforts.
Personally, I limit my 'outside the church' financial giving. But I do feel led to continue my giving, however modest in the grand scale of things, to this ministry. I strongly recommend that you do your homework, because once you have done so, I am confident that you will join my multi-decade financial giving to this wonderful ministry. Your bread cast upon the waters will return to you countless times; and so very many otherwise helpless and hopeless children will benefit from your generosity.

BTC is a great organization, management staff is ultra lean and overhead is minimal. Funds collected go to various BTC projects that minister to children in South/Central America (primarily). The John Grove School started by a USAF helicopter pilot is a single room, one teacher, mountain school that takes children from 6th to 12+ grade and is in most cases providing a high school education to children of families where the the first high school graduates in the family line are being generated. BTC does more than the school and ships collected goods, and medical equipment to the poor of the western hemisphere through collections that co-mingle in Tampa/Clearwater for further shipment south. All container loading is done by volunteer force in Tampa area. BTC is some great people changing childrens' lives and future for the better.

Overcoming the many obstacles that international relief agencies have , she gets the job done. Schooling, meals, trade training. medical care, housing, you name it, this organisation gets it done. I'm proud to be apart of their work.

Children in several countries depend upon Bless The Children for their continued existence. And Bless The Children actually delivers sustenance to them making it possible for these children to get fed, educated and become producing adults. Bless The Children needs our support; they always deliver what they promise.

Bless The Children is run by people who have a heart for loving those who need it most. I believe that God put them on my path and that they strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this broken world.

I have been a supporter of Bless the Children for many years. I first got involved when my daughter volunteered with BTC to send a shipment of school supplies to Honduras. It was such a great, life changing experience for her and I am very grateful to BTC for doing the hard work of establishing the infrastructure that made that project and so many more possible. BTC has also supported low income children right here in the US through their support of literacy programs--I have personal experience with BTC on this and am grateful for their support in this regard. I am now honored to be on their board and look forward to doing whatever I can to expand this very important group.

I have worked with and known Karen and Rebecca for many years now and they are the most honest, ethical, hard working people I have ever known! They are so totally dedicated to helping these poor children all over the world. They care so much for these under-privileged children who live in dumps or have no food or even clothing. I am so proud to be part of their lives as these kind of people are a rarity in this world. So many of these kids lives and future depend on Bless The Children.

I was first introduced to Bless The Children in 1998 when Karen was coordinating a missive effort to get much needed humanitarian aid to the victims of Hurricane Mitch that had stalled over Honduras and wiped out about 80-90& of its infrastructure. The country was already the poorest Central American country so the people were devastated by this catastrophe. Karen worked tirelessly with hundreds of volunteers and mountains of donations to get it shipped to Honduras by sea container so George who had recently retired there could distribute it. I have continued to work with both Karen and Rebecca from BTC since that time and have seen firsthand how their compassion and caring has helped countless lives where nothing goes to waste. I look forward to going on another mission trip soon!

Karen and Rebecca guided us towards directing the Caribbean branch of Bless the Children and educated us on the process of shipping much needed educational resources to targeted islands. The experience has been life changing, for us and our recipients. It is incredibly rewarding to know that one's efforts ARE making a difference in the lives of others. They have been incerdible role modles for us and always a pleasure to work with. Their dedication and passion for assisting the needy is inspirational! Can't say enough good things about them and their work!

I strongly recommend BTC. Karen and Rebecca are truly a blessing to the needy if Honduras, where I am currently working with them , as well as many other parts of the world. They have gone above and beyond with assisting me along every step of the way to bring a medical team and supplies there . Another member of their team,George, who lives in Honduras , was also a pleasure to work with. This charity needs all the support it can get, no matter how big or small. Looking forward to continued work with them in the future.

Bless the Children, Inc. was the first partnership formed with Hearth to Hearth Ministries. Both Karen and Rebecca have remained steadfast over the years through our growning pains, always loyal and continually seeking funds for the orphans we serve in Kenya and Uganda. Their love and compassion has no borders. Their efforts have helped provide food, education and security for the 150 children who reside in our orphanages, as well as famine relief for surrounding communities during times of food shortages. We are truly blessed by their ministry.

The McCoskrie Threshold Foundation, the humanitarian arm of the Air Commando Association located in Fort Walton Beach FL, has worked with BTC for over 12 years. Many thousand of pounds of medical supplies, clothilng, furniture, etc. the MTF collects are forwarded to BTC for shipment to the needy in several parts of the world. In addlition, the MTF helps support a school in Honduras named after John Grove, the incredible MTF volunteer. Karen Hubbard (BTC President) and Rebecca Smith (Vice President) are two of the most dedicated humanitarians we have known Their sincere efforts have surely helped so many people and their dedication is admirable. BTC needs and deserves financial suport to continue their humanitarian efforts. Every cent is used to help the needy and to make this world a better place. Felix "Sam" Sambogna, Secretary, MTF.
