I have personally witnessed the incredible work of this organization and it's impact on our Nation's Veterans. The respect towards our Veterans and the work they do getting Veterans back in the outdoors hunting, fishing, or shooting is inspirational and makes me want to do more for them. I am so proud to know that my donation goes directly to the programs they provide. I am humbled to have been at the side of wounded Warriors during some hunts and to witness not only how it impacts the lives of those that sacrifice so much for us but how it has impacted me personally to be among such an incredible group of individuals. The volunteer staff of Black Dagger Military Hunt Club have dedicated their lives to serving those who have so willingly served us through their military service. It is inspiring, humbling, and makes me proud to know them. I urge anyone reading this to donate to them if they are looking for a very worthy organization. The smiles on the faces of these HEROES as they catch that fish, hit a bulls eye with a firearm, or harvest a hog or deer does my heart and mind good. Thank you Black Dagger for all you do. I mean this from the bottom of my heart!!! Respectfully, Keith Reimers
I'm looking for information about this dagger my father gave me and his father gave to him.

Black Dagger Military Hunt Club is an incredible non-profit organization run by my father-in-law and my husband. I have seen first hand the amount of handwork, dedication and passion they have poured into this organization. I have had the great pleasure of volunteering on occasion and it is always an incredible experience to serve those that have served for our country.
Black Dagger Military Hunt club goes above and beyond supporting wounded veterans ranging from the Global war on terror to World War 2. The organization is constantly supporting a wide range of wounded veterans by getting them outside to do hunts, skeet shoots, paddle boarding, and even making snow angels in Florida for a terminally ill vet. The owner of BD works tirelessly during his personal time to raise money and organize events without taking a dollar for himself. If you're looking for an non-profit to donate to that will ensure your money is helping veterans, Black Dagger Military Hunt club is one.
BDMHC and their sponsors are simply the best, they get so many Veterans outside and provide them opportunities that free them from the prisons that their disabilities build
They have done it again, BDMHC put together the 7th Annual Top Shot competition on 17 November 2018. The Club and supporters had at least 20 Veterans and family members out to the HCSO ranger and matched us with professional shooters from around the country for a day of fun competition. The courses was challenging but not out of reach. Pro shooters gave pointers to the competitors so they could polisher their skills. I have not seen so many smiling Vets since last years Top Shot, everyone's moral was through the roof. This organization is manned by all volunteers that are nothing short of miracles for us, they put in so much time and effort it is unimaginable. Dave Winters is an amazing man, he is at every event and have never seen him have a bad day, he naturally spreads the smiles to all around him. This Top Notch organization pulled off another Top Shot, I am already looking forward to next years competition.
I have had the privilege of knowing Dave and this organization for over 5 years now. As a disabled veteran myself I started off volunteering with them for myself and have continued to be blown away by the passion and effort that Dave and the rest off the staff have shown through the years. I honestly can’t think of one bad experience of negative thing to say and wish I could be more involved with them.
It’s the best outdoor sporting therapy organization. The staff of 100% volunteers make you feel completely comfortable and welcome. For vets of all eras!
As a person with a disability (SCI) I know first hand how important access to the outdoors is. Dave and his group try their best to get people out and provide a safe experience for veterans in the outdoors. Thanks for all you do for veterans with disabilities.
I am a Board member of a local charity in Tampa. We have worked with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club on numerous occasions to help them do what they do best, assist wounded veterans in their effort to get outdoors. Through fishing, hunting, shooting and so many more adventures, they change the lives of men and women. They are an amazing charitable organization and I hope to work with them more in the future. They do good because they are good.
Love what this organization does for our veterans, service members, and community. I am honored to support and volunteer with BDMHC.
One of the most supportive and uniquely creative nonprofit groups to support Wounded Warriors and military. In both personal support and in watching them help others they are always willing to find a way to mentally and physically enable individuals and their families!
Black Dagger MHC is an organization that has stepped outside the box to provide the non-clinical help to those military members in need. Their approach not only creates new and amazing lifetime memories for participants, but it helps veterans find a way to escape from the pains that others may not understand. I recently joined BDMHC on a hunt and I found a new joy and hobby that has brought excitement back to my life. Thank you to all of you for bringing the light back and allowing me to join you. I will never forget this experience!!!
I have had the opportunity to volunteer and participate in fundraising for this organization. Dave Winters and the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club goes above and beyond. BDMHC creates memories in a special and safe environment for our military veterans who have served and are active duty. Making sure that our vets with special needs are taken care of allowing all to have quality time together enjoying hunting, fishing, shooting and many other sports with like minded individuals. I am proud to be able to give back to those who have supported and still support our country. "Together We Are Stronger" God Bless the USA. Thank you for all you do and continue to do. Thank you for allowing me to give back, I truly enjoy it Georgianna Strickland.
BDMHC consists of volunteers who, where they’ve served a day in a military uniform or not, embodies the American values and Warrior ethos to help our nations wounded, ill, injured, and gold star families. There is no organization I can speak more highly of. Their integrity and work ethic above reproach. Their spirit is one of helping those who have helped others and are now themselves in need. BDMHC provides me the opportunity to work with veterans, their family members, and veteran supporters in the area in order to achieve a stronger sense of community and emotional bond.
This organization is amazing! I have attended 5 events that they have put on (in the span of 3 years). Top shot competition, clay shooting, snapper tournament, Airforce ball fishing tournament, and most recently a hog hunt. There is not enough words to express my gratitude for this organization for taking a damaged Veteran such as myself and replenishing the part of me that I thought would never come back out again!
This program is amazing! As a disabled Veteran I am offered great opportunities to hunt and fish! Being outdoors helps me cope with my disability and being around others who are fighting the same battles creates a safe place for me to talk and share some of the things that I don’t usually get to talk about. This program has helped me greatly and I can’t wait for the next fishing trip or hunt!
The folks at Black Dagger and their volunteers work wonders helping us Vets heal through their programs. I’ve struggled for years with several issues. Dave Winters and his team (Too Many To Name) are always there for us in our time of need. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude. I love this organization.
Black Dagger is amazing! I cannot thanks these guys enough. I've been able to experience new things like Turkey Hunting and Stand Up Paddleboarding. The love and appreciation I feel from Black Dagger and all of the personnel I've come in contact with through them is beyond words.
If there are any Service Members in the Tampa area that have not participated in a Black Dagger event, do it now! You will not be disappointed.
BDMHC is an amazing organization working with veterans to increase their quality of life, getting them outdoors to enjoy hunting, fishing and other activities. They create camaraderie by hosting competitions and events, and fundraising for veterans in need. This past year they brought in snow to FL for a dying veterans wish to make a snow angel. I have been proud to have volunteered with this organization for several years.
I have been a volunteer with this organization for almost two years. They provide great opportunities for veterans to get active in the outdoors by participating in sporting clays events, hunting, and fishing. By getting these veterans together, it not only allows them to do the things they love again, but to share their experiences with other veterans, and regain the camaraderie they knew from active service. Great organization and great veterans!!
I have had the honor of volunteering with this nonprofit. I witnessed them doing great things in the community so I could not wait to help. I underestimated their selfless hard work and 110% back they give out. I can not wait to get back in and help again. The smiles on Veterans faces, as well as their family members was priceless.
Seeing the smiles on the veterans faces are priceless! Great organization.
Last month I was selected to participate in a fishing event with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club (BDMHC) in Panama City. I had never met any of the staff/volunteers or veterans prior to the event but, within minutes I felt as if they were family/old friends. It was truly a relaxing and enjoyable time. The services BDMHC provide the disabled veteran community are beyond exceptional and greatly appreciated.
Black Dagger set up a fantastic fishing trip in Panama City. Despite the weather, we still made it out on the water and had a blast amongst veterans and active duty men and women. It was good to see the quality of personnel who work for this nonprofit and was an honor to have participated in this event that clearly took a lot of coordination and planning to set up. Could not have been any better!
This is such an extraordinary group of volunteers and veterans. When you get involved here, you can feel the unyielding sense of progress and the "anything is possible" attitude. There's no obstacle or disability that hinders this organization from getting a veteran out and behind a trigger or hooked into some fish. I've loved every event I've been able to participate in and even some events I've volunteered myself for! I'm so extremely grateful for this group to help my recovery from both the scars seen and unseen. Etiam in Pugna
I'd like to thank Black dagger for providing me with opportunities to get out and reconnect with military comrades, and do so with something as adrenaline pumping as a trophy hog hunt or an exillerating shooting competition! The things we get to do on most of these events, we only dream of and think to ourselves, "I'd like to do something like that before I die." You provide us with an irreplaceable experience that will always have me grinning ear to ear. Thank you once again for all you've done for me and my brothers!
Had a great time with BDMHC on the Red Snapper Fishing Trip even if the weather did not agree with use. Everyone had a chance to do some fishing and have a good time with fellow veterans. Thanks Dave
I’ve had such an amazing time with Black Dagger on multiple events from fishing to shooting and even hunting! This organization epitomizes of what a true non-profit organization should be.
My daughter and I went with my husband to the Panama City Beach Fishing trip this month. While my husband fished, my daughter and I were kept busy with the Winters family and other spouses. They were so attentive to insure we had a good experience! They definitely go way out of their way to provide a positive experience for all of the Veterans. The Sponsors that donated time or money also were most gracious. Although my husband has attended a few past events, it was the first for us. We would definitely attend future events with him. Thank you to the entire Winters Family!
It is heartwarming to see the care and attention to detail that Black Dagger provides to these events.
I was able to participate in the recent Red Snapper tournament in Panama City Beach and I can tell you that the work that Black Dagger does to provide veterans an opportunity to do outdoor activities that they otherwise would not be able to do is amazing.
You get to see the light shine in the eyes of people who otherwise are in a daily struggle.
Dave Winters goes out of his way to ensure that everyone is accommodated for.
I had the incredible privilege of joining the recent Black Dagger Red Snapper fishing expedition to Panama City, FL. The fantastic work done by Dave Winters and a handful of volunteers was top notch! It is inspirational to see the hard work and dedication being spent to give back to vets - both active duty and those retired with disabilities. It is no doubt making a huge (positive!) impact on many people's lives. Thanks again for the honor of being a part of this.
I began shooting sporting clays with BDMHC about 9 months ago, and I have been on an inshore day fishing trip in St. Petersburg, Florida, and a 4 day off-shore fishing trip with 19 other disabled veterans in Panama City Beach, Florida. I have a unique perspective for a disabled veteran, because I have an extensive background in outdoor adventure therapy for wounded troops and disabled veterans, children with disabilities, and cancer survivors as a non-profit executive from 2007-2016. I am also a certified shooting sports, fishing, paddle sports, bushcraft, and water safety instructor; and a member of the Adaptive Outdoor Safety Council.
Black Dagger is on a very short list of the three most impressive non-profit I've encountered in this sector. They truly understand and are passionate about reconnecting disabled veterans with the community and each other through adaptive outdoor recreation. Part of the Adaptive Sports Program and James A. Haley VA Hospital, the leadership of BDMHC is top notch in safety, development and implementation of adaptive and assistive technology, and therapeutic value at the point of delivery. All participants are referred by their VA or military healthcare providers and cleared to participate in these types of activities.
On a personal note, my experience with Black Dagger has been very good for me. Married to another combat-disabled veteran, we relocated to FL last year to help with other family members in need. So we have no social life to speak of outside of BDMHC and the American Legion. BDMHC has made it much easier for us to continue our active outdoor lifestyles during this major life change, and we have met some awesome people. Honestly, our involvement with BDMHC has been a very bright spot in an otherwise difficult time in our lives. I can't understate the importance of this organization in the overall wellness picture of the disabled veterans who call the Tampa Bay Area home.
Black Dagger is an awesome veteran supportive organization. Black Dagger gave me the opportunity to participate in a local stand up paddle board race, along with several other veterans. It was a great time on a beautiful day and allowed us all to connect. I was also invited for a small dinner gathering with the race events coordinators, which just topped off the day. I cannot thank this organization enough for this opportunity and the opportunities they create for my brethren in arms.
I was lucky enough to be included in a red snapper fishing event that Black Dagger put together. For being a small organization they went above and beyond to make sure none of the veterans needed anything. Everyone associated with Black Dagger was not only professional but also all around good people.
The boat captains were incredible, they got every one on fish and made sure we all had the best time possible. Everyone of us left the event with nothing but good things to say and a few of us were able to develop a friendship that has lasted beyond the event.
I am grateful for the chance to have been part of this event and have gotten the chance to meet some great Americans.
I went on the first annual red snapper tournament, and it was an amazing trip! We had two great days of fishing on the water, and two nights of great fellowship .the boat captains did a wonderful job of putting us on fish, and we are very thankful they offered their time and boats.
I’m looking forward to next year!
Black Dagger is a wonderful organization. I had the pleasure of hosting their recent fishing tournament at the Resort where I work, and it was really touching to see how much this organization cared for the Veterans they represented. Black Dagger is genuinely volunteer and non profit driven. They organize meaningful events for Veterans and share their cause in a graceful manner. The leader of the organization as well as the coordinator of the fishing tournament personally invited me to be apart of their gathering at a local home. I loved the warm welcomes and watching the group interact on a family type level. Black Dagger is the best non profit I have ever had the pleasure of teaming with and I look forward to hosting them again soon and also volunteering for their great cause!
Thank you so much for providing me the opportunity to experience deep sea fishing!!! I recently was lucky enough to participate in the fishing trip out of Johns pass. What a great time. The fishing, comaraderie, boat ride and food were all fantastic. It was a real privilege to be able to attend!! Fantastic organization!! Thank you!
I was lucky enough to be chosen for the 1rst annual Red Snapper Tournament In Panama City Beach, FL. Black Dagger put us up in the Sheraton at Baypoint what an incredible place to stay fist class all the way any thing you needed the staff was eager to serve you we had to day of fishing the first day was pretty rough but we cant snapper and a King Mackerel second day was little calmer and we caught some more snapper. Mission BBQ provided our supper on Friday and Saturday nights it was out standing . I cant say enough about the professionalism and attention every one from Black Dagger showed this weekend. I hope some day to be chosen on another Black Dagger event for just that weekend my depression and PTSD were not in control of me. THANK YOU BLACK DAGGER
I am a volunteer for the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club and it is an absolute pleasure taking care of our Veterans. To be part of an organization that is comprised of all volunteers means donations get to benefit Black Daggers cause and that is helping our Veterans.
Being a Black Dagger volunteer is so rewarding in so many ways. Meeting these women and men who have defended our Country and seeing them have such a good time at the events is awesome. To see donations go directly to benefit these Veterans is something you don't normally get to see. I hope to keep volunteering for quite some time.
I had a wonderful time during the fishing getaway to Panama City, FL organized by the Black Dagger. Everything was great: hotel accommodations, boats, activities, etc. I would definitely recommend this wonderful organization to all the veterans!!!!
This is an outstanding organization that give wounded, ill, and injured vets an opportunity to participate in outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. as a veteran who has used their service I can tell you they truly believe in what they do and provide a healing benefit to us as veterans.
My family and I had the privilege to volunteer this past weekend (6/16/2018) at the Black Dagger MHC Red Snapper Tournament. What a wonderful experience! We can not say enough good things about this organization and the lives it is touching. We never felt as though we were there to do a “job” we were there to make a difference and serve those who served us. It was a wonderful gift not only for the vets but also a gift to us. Absolutely loved sharing this with my children.
This weekend I had the privilege of attending the 1st Annual BDMHC Red Snapper Fishing Tournament & had an absolute blast! I could go on & on about the whole thing but in short, it was just absolutely amazing & we had a fantastic time catching lots of red snapper & a lot of other species. Thanks so much to BDMHC, Dave Winters, the sponsors, captains, volunteers & everyone else who made this trip possible.
This father's day weekend, I had the privilege to be able to volunteer my time with Black Dagger Military Hunt Club at their 1st annual red snapper tournament. We had a blast out thereon the water! Everyone was on the fish and smiles were all around. It was great to spend time with such an amazing group of veterans.
I want to start by saying thank you to all Veterans on this Veterans Day! My name is Thomas Taylor and I am a 20yr Coast Guard Veteran. Dave and the entire bunch, here at Black Dagger do amazing things for us, and I just can't say thank you, enough, for the support, morale, and friendships they have forged with my family and I! Keep up the awesome work, and Thank you all, God bless
It is with great honor that I write this review. From the moment I pulled up at the shooting event at Black Dagger Military Hunt Club, I felt as though I had known the people for years. I was welcomed with open arms by each of the staff volunteers, many of whom dedicated an entire weekend day to assist with the start and finish of the event. I cannot underscore enough the safe range practices that I observed by each one of the volunteers at the event. Every bullet fired down range was done so in a responsible, efficient manner due to the staff's constant awareness of range safety procedures. It was like Christmas morning for me at the event. As a former infantryman, I felt as though every magazine handed to me was a gift. I must have fired close to 2,000 various rounds that day (from .223 to .50 BMG). The staff made sure your weapon always had a fresh magazine and that you had a smile on your face. I cannot thank the folks at Black Dagger Military Hunt Club enough for what you did for me that day. May God bless each one of you, and I hope this review serves as a window to the public into how you are changing lives. There is definitely something to say about "recoil therapy" as a good way to clear your mind, and you folks go far beyond that in what you do for veterans. In closing, I would like to thank Mission BBQ for the catered meal to the event; it was seriously the best BBQ I have ever eaten (and thank you Mr. Winters for the "to go" bag!). Thank you again!
I love Black Dagger! They get me outdoors and involved in shooting sports. Sometimes, I take my boys and create great memories! Helping veterans is their calling, and they're a great blessing to soo many, including me. Great charity!
Working with the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club has been outstanding. They pull out all the stops to provide wounded warriors and gold star families an enriching experience that goes well beyond simply hunting. The comraderie that is built at their events cannot be quantified. The opportunities this charity provides to help heal the wounds of war and the effort the staff puts forth makes it an organization worthy of everyone's support.
I am a Gold Star Father having lost my son in the war in Afghanistan. Since my son's demise I have battled depression and the feeling of loss on a regular basis.
However, there have been many days where the loss is minimised by caring and empathetic people who generously reach out....and through their actions have shown me that my son's sacrifice is NOT forgotten.
One such organization that has helped me and other Gold Star Fathers is the Black Dagger MILITARY Hunt Club.
This organization has reached out to us on More than one occasion. They have taken us shooting and provided lunches....and some great fellowship!
I heartily endorse The Black Dagger MILITARY Hunt Club.
I have been a volunteer a handful of times for this organization. I've witnessed first hand the ability of this charity to literally pull somewhat introverted veterans out of their shell. It's a true joy to see a smile come across a face you know hasn't smiled in far to long. I can only hope those patients from the VA gain as much therapy from the experiences as I do. It's truly an honor to be able to, in some small way, be able to help these young men and women find their way back.
It's an honor and a privilege to be a part of Black Dagger Military Hunt Club Inc. as a volunteer. This wonderful organization is not JUST helping our military warriors heal outdoors.
It is an AMAZING group of people, who are a great example of SELFLESSNESS!!!
One small act can make a difference in the life of a Veteran, and the work that they do goes above and beyond that!
Thank you, Black Dagger, for the opportunity to give back! Thank you, Veterans, for your service, and for the sacrifices you have made!!!
I'm combat injured; blind, right leg amputee, 65% burned with limited use of my hands. After my injury, I never thought I would get back into the woods. Black Dagger Military Hunt Club showed me that, even with my disabilities, I could still pursue this passion.
I've been blessed with the opportunity to participate in five different outings and have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated all of them. I look forward to future adventures with the club.
With Sincere Thanks,
SSG Joel Tavera (USA Ret)
We have been honored to be partof the Black Dagger Hunt Club. After my husband's traumatic brain injury he was told his days of target shooting (his favorite hobby) were over. Through the our local VA we were introduced to Black Dagger. It has been wonderful to see my husband not only enjoy target and trap shooting again but be given a chance to be around so many who face similar challenges. I can't stress enough what a positive impact Black Dagger has had on him. His therapist have even notice an improvement in his eyes ability to focus and overall field of vision since he started target shooting again. We are profoundly grateful for the friendships we have made and opportunity to enjoy a hobby he had before. So much of life has changed, it is such a blessing when we are able to regain a few activities from before his traumatic brain injury
I've known BDMHC for about 3 years now and they were the first people since I had been injured that got me out of the hospital and onto their range. They are a wonderful and dedicated group of people who really believe in doing all they can for our veterans. I am thankful for everything they have done for me and very much look forward to taking part in their events in the future.

The Black Dagger Military Hunt Club is fantastic. Safe and coordinated shooting operations are consitantly provided and guided. It has always been wonderful to participate under Black Dagger led activities.
Just wanted to say thank you to Black Dagger for letting me help out and participate in Top Shot 2015. It was the most memorable experience i have had to this day. Got to meet and compete with fellow disabled veterans. Came in second place. THANK YOU BLACK DAGGER!
These guys are great! Such great attitudes and giving me opportunities that I didn't know existed. I tell everyone I can about them.
Truly great group ran by selfless individuals. I truly enjoyed the experience they allowed for me and the other veterans. Every step of the way is to better the experience of the veterans involved.
Hubby finally got a BUCK with y'all and operation outdoor freedom this past weekend. You were all amazing and shared his excitement. Thank you so much for this opportunity for him and all you do for our veterans. He is so excited for all the hunts he is able to attend in the future.
Black Dagger is an organization that allows wounded / injured military veterans to experience the outdoors and sports without the events being too large, over-manned, complicated, and there is no "babying" or "hand-holding". We veterans are respected for our abilities regardless of injuries, and the relationships with Black Dagger personnel, especially Ryan, are personal, and long-lasting friendships are made. I hope to always be a part of this organization!

Awesome charity! Founded by an amazing military family that I am honored to call friends.
I was recently invited to attend Black Dagger's event shooting sporting clays with my son. We both had a blast! Great people with good souls!
I recently was introduced to Black Dagger from another wounded veteran in the Tampa area. After registering less than a week previously I was contacted by Dave and Ryan Winters. They both offered any kind of help in its immediacy, but also if I was able to participate in any events ASAP. Of course I said I needed to check but of course. Within a month of the initial contact I was out hunting with them.
Very well organized, the land management and set-up is very well thought out. The compound was impressive with the ancillary benefits of a "camp" outside of a camp. All the volunteers were very eager to meet me and explain their role in the organization. Got to meet and greet with a "sponsor" of the hunt and his wife and they were terrific people! Very professional, very detailed, very organized. Everyone was very respectful and courteous and always asking if we needed anything in preparation for the hunt. Even if I had forgot something they had all the necessary equipment to show up in boxer shorts!
First we did the introductions, safety briefs, and then a little more on the types of animals that are out in the preserve, but also that they have at other staging areas in town. We then went out for weapons safety and practice/zero. I think it was an added bonus that the trappers had showed up about an hour before we were getting ready to leave for the hunt, but they had brought about 12 boars to the farm for release. It was pretty neat to see them all in the cages, before they got turned loose on the property.
Overall and awesome experience with even greater people. You can't put a price tag on something like that. Great bunch of guys and gals that I plan on keeping in touch with over the years!
I have been helped by black dagger in more ways than I can count. The have provided guidance, mentorships, encouragement. They have shown me that they is more than a broken body and bruised soul. It seems no matter what the day is like u can expect Dave and Ryan to be there smiling pushing you forward to your goals. They and the rest of the volunteers are some very special people. Our special community can never thank them enough for what they do for all of us.
Black Dagger Military Hunt Club is an amazing non profit that gets our veterans back out on the range shooting, hunting and fishing. I have been volunteering for over 2 years because I love to see our veterans smiling and enjoying spending time with other veterans young and old. The other thing that I LOVE about Black Dagger is that 98% of every donated dollar goes back to the veterans. I encourage anyone to donate or volunteer with this organization.
As a volunteer I have attended two events. One was a competition clay shoot and the other was a day for veterans to skeet shoot. At both events everything was very well organized, but what impressed me the most was that the veterans regardless of experience had a review on safety of firearms prior to handling the fire arms. Also they were all cleared prior to the event by medical personnel to be certain they were ready for the step. Black dagger military Hunt club makes every effort to run their organization in the correct manner to protect all involved.
