The Bishwa Seva Foundation serves San Diego, California and Panauti, Nepal.
In San Diego the Foundation offers fifty to sixty sound meditations per year, to hundreds of community members. As a volunteer musician, I have witnessed the profound improvement in the physical, emotional and mental health of the attendees. Often these sound healings have hundreds of Tibetan bowls and dozens of full sized gongs! Occasionally, a Nepalese meal is served to hundreds of people at these events.
From the voluntary contributions at these events the Foundation raises funds for the missions in Nepal. It is amazing.
In Nepal, the Foundation sponsors the costs of tuition, food and supplies of fifty low-caste, disadvantaged students for school. Through written letters, the Foundation encourages a relationship between the schoolchildren in Nepal and their American sponsors. This mission has been in place since 2008. The students graduate at the top of the national testing scores and are saved from life on the streets and far worse fates.
The Foundation assisted with the 2015 earthquake relief and had food into remote villages within 60 hours of the disaster. The Foundation is now developing a Sustainable Villages Initiative in the Panauti area of Nepal. The Foundation is receiving guidance from Engineers Without Borders and the Encinitas Mindfulness Community.
Bishwa Seva means "to serve the world" in Nepalese. The Foundation became a 501 (c)(3) trust in 2009.
Namaste and thank you for your interest.
