Results: In 2017 - 2018: The Billings Community Foundation assisted 32 Charitably-minded individuals take advantage of the 40% MT Endowment Tax Credit to perpetually support their favorite local Non-Profits. Yellowstone Valley Gives 2018 INSPIRED 936 DONORS, INCLUDED 104 NONPROFITS! INVESTED $163,000 LOCALLY! Over $50,000 was granted to 20 Local Non-Profits to support critical programming and services through the annual grant cycle. More than $283,000 has been distributed to to local Non-Profits through Endowments payments, Donor Advised Funds, and Fiscal Sponsorships managed by the Billings Community Foundation.

Geographic areas served: The Greater Yellowstone Valley Region of Montana - serving primarily Yellowstone County and many highly rural communities of south-central and south eastern Montana located in Carbon, Stillwater, Treasure, Bighorn, Musselshell, Rosebud and Custer County.
Programs: The Billings Community Foundation is an innovative community foundation promoting philanthropy and charitable giving in the Greater Yellowstone Valley. As a ‘regional’ community foundation, our service area encompasses highly many rural communities of south-central and south-eastern Montana located in Carbon, Yellowstone, Stillwater, Treasure, Bighorn, Musselshell and Custer County. Our clients include community funds throughout this service area as well as various nonprofits and philanthropic minded individuals.
Since its inception 10 years ago, the Billings Community Foundation has distributed over $170,000 in grants to more than 60 nonprofits in the Yellowstone Valley area region, and the number of grants funded into the community by new BCF assets continues to grow! In 2017, BCF awarded more than $42,000 to 27 different non-profits in our region to support their mission, programming, and services!
In addition to grant making activities, the Billings Community Foundation partners with area nonprofits to provide workshops, help clients utilize the MT Charitable Income Tax Credit, establishes endowments, manages Donor Advised Funds, Community Funds, and much more while offering consultations upon request!
Annually, the Billings Community foundation engages in the GIVE LOCAL initiative taking place simultaneously in communities across the country by hosting a 'giving day' in our community. Yellowstone Valley Gives is a powerful 24 hour “Crowdfunding” event that embraces new technologies to provide a quick, easy, and fun way for the public to support non-profits in our area. In 2018, our community came together to raise over $162,000 for area non-profits and provided the necessary funds to help them meet their mission and support programming in the Greater Yellowstone Valley!
