Causes: Adult & Child Matching Programs, Children & Youth
Mission: Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1 to 1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
Programs: Prevention based program that exists to facilitate one to one relationships between children in need and qualified adult volunteers who serve as friends and role models. The mentors engage the children in 1 to 1 activities to strengthen the child's academic achievement, sense of self-competence and self-confidence, and to ensure that the child is better able to cope with life's many challenges as they mature. We have two core programs: community based where the volunteer/mentor goes to the child's home and engages the child for 4 hours weekly for a minimum commitment of one year; the second core program is our school based program where the volunteer meets with the child for a minimum of one year, once a week, and helps with homework, school projects, forming a relationship/bond with the child to help with bullying, etc. Both programs recruit quality adult volunteers to help the children become well rounded, productive citizens of tomorrow.
