This agency was absolutely horribly; unprofessional, unethical, and irresponsible: Retraumatizing, introduced abandonment issues and rejection. My entire being and my daughter's spirit has been negatively affected by this program that I used to love and know about since I was a teenager.
My daughter and I were so excited upon getting accepted into the program. My daughter bonded with her big sister, they met for lunch and talked for hours. I kept telling my daughter to make plans with her Big Sis and there was suddenly no response coming from her Big. My daughter repeatedly said, "She doesn't care, Mom." I called the match specialist who claimed he just wanted to make sure my daughter is safe, he told Lauren not to respond but they will definitely meet next week. She would never respond. There was not meeting next week.
This became a triangulation among the changed match specialist staff, Camille B. and Amy E. Amy and Camille told me that Big Sister was angry at my daughter for not setting up meetings, yet she never responded to set up dates.
First it was ok to text, then staff changed so we had to speak on the phone. I was in an all day nursing training program, we were not allowed to have our phones so we ended up playing phone tag. I kept emailing Amy and Camille who claimed that we spoke numerously about things yet my daughter was kicked-out of the program for, "lack of communication."
Big Brother and Sister of Central Indiana they would not give me the director's name or number. They didn't refer me to any other classes, agencies, counseling. The impression that was pressed upon me was a bunch of unorganized kids who want to make their resume look good. Not the idea that I had of them since I was a teen.

Causes: Adult & Child Matching Programs, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Children & Youth
Mission: The big brothers big sisters mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
Programs: Deliver programming through 1-to-1 adult to youth mentoring. Adult volunteers (bigs) are matched with youth (littles). Volunteers meet with their littles face-to-face for at least 4 hours per month for a minimum of 12 months. Bbbsci provides participants with continuing professional staff support through regular contacts, workshops, and coaching designed to help the youth achieve academic success, avoidance of risky behaviors, and socio-emotional competency. Our 1-to-1 mentoring program is built upon nationally recognized research and practices that honor the wide range of developmental needs of boys and girls as well as the diversity of their communities. During the 2016-2017 fiscal year bbbsci provided support to 1,165 matches, impacting the lives of over 4,600 youth, volunteers and family members.
college scholarships: 22 college scholarships awarded to little brother and little sister alumni. 1 scholarship awarded to current little to attend writing workshop.
