Mission: Biblica, the international bible society, exists to provide the bible in accurate, contemporary translations and formats so that more people around the world will have the opportunity to be transformed by jesus christ.
Programs: Bible translation: there are still many people in the world who either don't have a bible in their heart language, or who only have an old, outdated translation. That's why biblica is dedicated to providing accurate, contemporary translations of scripture in the world's major languages. To date, we have completed 118 translations and continue to work on both revisions and new bible projects. In fy'17, we launched the first-ever sorani kurdish bible. In fy '17 biblica had 45 translation projects. Of these, 11 were completed and 34 others were still in process.
bible access: biblica is committed to sharing the bible with those who so desperately need to hear the message of salvation and love. Poverty, political and spiritual oppression, and literacy keep millions of people from encountering god in his word. Digital and audio bibles are effective tools in overcoming these barriers, providing scripture in a format that is easier to understand and faster to receive. Biblica has 60 of its bible translations available in digital format. During fy'17, there were 3. 7 billion digital scripture requests. Biblica also has 17 of its bible translations available in audio format. During fy'17, there were 700 million digital audio requests.
bible engagement: having access to the bible isn't enough. In order for god's word to transform a life, it must be read, understood, and obeyed. Biblica develops programs that encourage bible reading and help people engage with god's word in a meaningful way. These include training pastors and church leaders to understand and teach the bible accurately, introducing young people to christ, and encouraging church congregations to study scripture together. 148,874 leaders were equipped in fy'17. Reach4life is a bible based program that introduces young people to jesus christ through addressing some of the hardest issues youth of our day may face, but through the lens of the new testament. In fy'17, there were 238,918 participants in the reach4life program. In total, 1,404,717 people were impacted in fy'17 through biblica's bible engagement programs delivered primarily through biblica's relationship with hundreds of ministry partners.
