I foster for this organization, and I love it. It is deeply committed to making a difference for abandoned dogs in the south. It's well-run and the network of fosters, who communicate in a big group chat, is large, dedicated, and supportive. If you have any problems at all with your foster -- from potty-or crate- training to medical issues to behavioral issues -- someone is at your door within a day bearing medicine, supplies, observation or advice. The organization is also excellent at responding to adopters, and making sure dogs are a good fit for their forever homes.

I absolutely love working with this rescue. Being a foster with my wife brings so much love and joy into our home with our own doggos. It's a really great feeling knowing that all of the rescues are so well cared for and get to their forever homes in the best way possible.

Helping this group isn’t volunteer work, it’s a community of people who love dogs so much that they put them above themselves. So much love and sacrifice goes into this organization. Watching come together time and time is again to find temporary and permanent homes for dogs who wouldn’t have had one otherwise is such a rewarding experience.

I have experience with BTDR as an adopter and a foster. Jenny has created an amazing well oiled machine by bringing in like minded, giving and selfless people who see her mission as she does.
Highly recommend BTDR based on thourough vetting that happens prior to adoption, continuing education and training of volunteers and the countless hours spent making sure no puppy is left behind.

I have been working with Better Together Dog Rescue since January 2022, very shortly after its inception. The founder Jenny and I previously fostered together for another rescue, and when I heard that she started her own rescue, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. Working with the rescue solidified what I already knew about Jenny, that she was committed to saving as many dogs as she could, while bringing in trustworthy people to be fosters, volunteers and moral support. This rescue and all involved work tirelessly to ensure not only the safety of the dogs in our care, but also those dogs that are still on the street, with rescue partners going out and feeding, vaccinating and saving as many as we can.

Our foster coordinator does an amazing job vetting potential fosters, and placing dogs in our care that best fit our household to try to ensure that everyone in the home is happy and thriving. Since January 2022, I've fostered 23 puppies ranging from 8 weeks to 6 months old since that is what fits best with my 2 dogs and 2 cats at home, and all of them have been wonderful. There is a community of support for fosters and volunteers, and I've gotten close with many of them who I now consider friends.

The biggest thing to remember is that this rescue is all volunteer based, with everyone having full time jobs, families and lives outside of the rescue. And although everyone is busy, it's people like these volunteers who give their time and energy to beings that cannot care for themselves, that restore some of my faith in humanity.

The first dog I fostered with this rescue was Sosa. She is pictured here. Sosa was a 1 year old deaf Pitbull when she came to me. Pulled off the streets of Nashville where she had been thrown away. This rescue will help any dog no matter the breed or disability and it's quite something to witness. Sosa found her forever home and is a happy healthy survivor who is now living her best life. This all thanks to Better Together Dog Rescue and all their wonderful and kind volunteers. I continue to foster for them and hope to be a small part in this organization for as long as I am physically able.

This group is doing so much good for rescue dogs - and their forever families. BTDR transports dogs from overcrowded shelters, provides foster homes to help socialize dogs, and then helps place dogs with permanent families. BTDR is literally saving lives - and providing so much joy to foster and forever families. This is a wonderful group making a real difference in the world.

Better Together took time to get to know me and what my family was looking for in a dog. They were patient and caring and were with me every step of the way and even after adoption. I am grateful for the work they do and am so lucky to have their help in completing my family.

Better together dog rescue is one of the best dog rescues I've had the pleasure of fostering for as well as I adopted my beautiful precious tulip through them. I was going through a rough time due to health condition and having heart failure but when I took tulip in she was just what I needed to brighten my spirits! She's an amazing 2yr old pitbull and was due to get euthanized at the shelter she was in. Jenny saved her life and made mine so much better at the same time. Tulip is the daughter I never had, my best friend and I love her so much and she's amazing with my two boys. They love her just as much, she's become the princess of our home and we are all okay with that! Jenny is amazing at what she does and doesn't sleep because she's always worried about her foster/ rescues and trying to help as many dogs as she possibly can and she spares no expense. Often times coming out of pocket for so much of the needs of these dogs. She supplies every foster with absolutely all they need to care for these poor babies, as well as she covers all vet visits even covering the cost of transport if the foster doesn't have transportation and if Jenny herself isn't able to take them herself. She makes sure that every dog is up to date on shots and deworming and heart worm treatments and any other care each individual rescue may need. She has built an amazing organization and has brought in some amazing fosters and volunteers, she works 24/7/365 days often times staying up with a rescue if she needs to if he/she is Ill or having a hard time relaxing and adjusting after transport. She puts a smile on at all times for everyone even when she's so tired and emotional because we see all the good, but I'm sure Jenny has had to make some tuff calls and heart breaking decisions but it is always in the best interest of the dog and everyone involved. She's had to have tuff skin because.. well we can't please them all and not everyone will fully understand some of the predicaments someone in this type of organization can be out in and some of the decisions they have to make not all will like and that's okay but they sometimes can be nasty about it and Jenny remains professional at all times. I know I could probably never hold myself together, my organization, and my family home life, and she also held down going to college while doing everything else! I have the pleasure of knowing and am honored to do so btw The REAL SUPER WOMAN! JENNY! I love everything about Better together Dog rescue and all it stands for and all she does! ♥️

Working with BTDR to rescue our boy Shep was thorough and professional. Jenny kept us informed about all transport and health details and did not hold back on sending lots of adorable pics. Shep has brought so much love to our family-I can’t remember what life was like before we had him!!
We are so grateful to BTDR-not only for giving us our boy, but for the countless other dogs and families who get to experience more love!

I've been fostering for this rescue since January and the care and compassion that this team has not only for the dogs they are saving, but their fosters as well is astounding. Jenny is amazing and truly cares about each and every dog that she is able to bring north, and provides everything you need as a foster. I hope to continue working with them for the foreseeable future!

Working with Better Together has been a dream! We partnered with them just a few months ago and have already made three transports of animals to them from Nashville. Best group of people, hands down!

Jenny and her team have been awesome to work with! We started as fosters and were extremely well supported, but ended up adopting our second foster! She truly does care about her dogs and the families rescuing them - answering questions all hours of the day and offering additional sport whenever possible. - including a third party dog behavioral specialist.
We can’t wait to work with Jenny again, fostering once our new family member has settled in.

I am one of the veterinarians helping this rescue, and I have dealt with many in the past. They are amazing... such committed and generous, compassionate people. Absolutely the best rescue around!

I am on the board for the rescue and volunteer. The rescue sponsors many dogs in TN and TX to get them healthy and ready for adoption. We have helped over 200 dogs since December of 2021. The rescue locates fosters, pays the vet bills and provides the supplies before the dogs can be transported to the northeast for adoption. Locally we donate our time and we are working to provide a mobile dog pantry for pet owners in need and we are working to build a facility to also be able to board dogs before adoption and for veterans and victims of domestic abuse.

I started my relationship with Better Together Dog Rescue as a volunteer foster parent. Now, I am both a volunteer and an adopter, and both experiences have far exceeded my expectations.

I have had rescue dogs for more than 30 years, and working with Better Together makes me feel as if I am aligning my volunteer life and my values in a way that I can feel confident and excited about.

It is easy for those who rescue animals to feel overwhelmed by the need relative to the resources of time, money, and volunteers available. Better Together is an organization that has, at its heart, the love of all of these dogs, and whether it is one dog rescued, or 200 dogs rescued, the good work being done is with love, and compassion, and a strong sense of commitment.

Jenny and the team are truly caring. From the first day, when I expressed my interest, Jenny has been immediately responsive to my questions, concerns, and needs. She is an amazing steward of these wonderful animals as they make their way to new lives, and it is always clear that she cares deeply about each and every one of them.

I feel so fortunate to have found Better Together and do not hesitate in recommending them in whatever capacity one is inclined to become involved, whether as adoptive dog parent, volunteer, foster parent, or more.

Cricket, my foster fail, completely agrees!

The volunteers for Better Together Dog Rescue work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well being of all their rescues. It takes special individuals to keep fighting the fight against animal abuse/neglect to find homes for these furry, forgotten souls and the volunteers of this group are hero’s. Thank you for all that you do ❤️
