Target demographics: feed the hungry and shelter the homeless
Programs: Operate a “soup kitchen” which prepares and serves three daily meals on-site free of charge to all walk-in clients. Serve both meals on-site and deliver meals to the homebound elderly, disabled and indigent. Prepare dinners five days a week to be delivered to the street homeless in North Laredo. Operate a three-part shelter complex including an emergency shelter, transitional housing units, and a day resource center. Operate a day resource center for daily living amenities, support services, and case management for the homeless free of charge. Operate an emergency shelter for homeless men and an outdoor safe shelter for women free of charge. Provide 8 transitional housing units for homeless families in crisis needing assistance to become stabilized and self-sufficient. Provide job readiness and transportation for the homeless Provide an all-inclusive program for homeless individuals with shelter, food, clothing, job readiness, case management, with a final transitioning of the clients to stabilized housing through a local subsidy program.
