Best Friends for Life is an exceptional organization and rescue. Everyone is friendly, compassionate and helpful. You can tell they truly care about the kitties they have in their care. The facility is well-maintained, and they work hard to make the shelter experience a positive one for both the kitties and the prospective adopters. Not to mention all the fantastic work they do in the community to advocate, educate, and promote spay & neuter as a means of controlling overpopulation. I have experienced firsthand the love and compassion everyone who works and volunteers with BFFL has for cats. I 100% recommend adopting from Best Friends for Life!
Laredo is lucky to have an organization like Best Friends for Life. A couple of years ago I became aware of a feral cat community in my neighborhood and began researching how I could get them spayed and neutered. My search brought me to Best Friends for Life. Michelle and Sandra were very helpful and explained their TNR program. Since then, I have become a foster for them and my son has adopted from them as well. Their unwavering dedication to cats is commendable.
Great organization and always willing to help the community in spaying cats and even giving out food from their pantry when your cats or dogs are in need of food.
Best Friends For Life is an incredible organization that is so dedicated to their mission and community. I love visiting their shelter and socializing with their available shelter animals. The staff is always so welcoming and helpful
I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering with BFFL for over three years, and I can confidently say this organization is truly dedicated to helping cats in need. From the start, I was impressed by how well-organized and efficient they are. Whether it’s coordinating foster placements, organizing adoption events, or providing care for rescued cats, BFFL ensures everything runs smoothly and with the cats' best interests at heart.
What makes BFFL stand out is their genuine commitment to improving the lives of cats and their involvement in the community. They work tirelessly to rescue and find loving homes for every cat they help. It’s inspiring to be part of a team that not only cares deeply but also takes real action to make a positive impact.
I’m proud to volunteer with BFFL and would highly recommend anyone looking to support a compassionate, dedicated organization to get involved!
BFFL Laredo is doing an outstanding job of educating the public about the importance of being a true pet owner by promoting spay/neuter clinics, offering adoption events, free pet food for those who cannot afford to feed their fur babies, and microchip and rabies shots clinics
I am currently a volunteer for BFFL and I love it everything about it! Their cat building is always kept very clean and tidy! The workers are also super friendly and make you feel welcomed! I actually adopted my cat from them as well. It’s overall an amazing place to visit and volunteer at during your free time. I 100% recommend!
Best Friends for Life is a welcoming organization that feels like a second home. Everyone is extremely friendly and genuinely cares about you. If you have a passion for helping cats that need a forever home, this is the place where you want to be. They will share your passion and work endlessly to care and love for every community cat, TNR, and cat under their care. Not only will you be forming unbreakable bonds with loving cats, you will also create loving bonds with every individual who works in this wonderful organization.
I LOVE them ! I found and took in some kittens right before a freezing night in Texas and I did not have a plan . BFFL was so supportive and helped me create a plan to foster them in the short term and get them into their program . The staff was wonderful to work with , so responsive and kind . I volunteered some of my time and saw first hand all the work they are doing behind the scenes , WOW ! TNR programs , community outreach , socializing animals , low cost spay and neuter . It is seemingly endless and they are doing it all with kindness and compassion .
My personal foster kitten experience had a small bump in the road with a FELV diagnosis but BFFL is connected with a much larger rescue community and they were able to connect me with a program to support FELV positive cats in Austin . I cannot say enough about them , they go above and beyond ! Donate , support their mission and if you need support call them!
BFFL is an AMAZING nonprofit organization. I volunteer there by taking photos of their cats and each time I go, it’s such a JOY! The staff is awesome and the cats are so sweet. I love getting to play and interact with the cats because it truly brightens my day. I will be a lifetime volunteer at this point! I hope BFFL staff get the recognition they deserve and continue changing the lives of these awesome felines.
We adopted our first cat and had a wonderful experience. Michelle was amazing, kind and informative! Thank you so much for going above and beyond!
I have fostered several Kittens for BFFL and have been very happy with the experience. They keep in touch with you and let you know when to take them for check ups and vaccinations. All the kittens are sweet, lovable and get adopted as soon as they are ready. The staff at BFFL are always there to answer any questions and help you with the process. ~Sara
It has been a blessing to find an organization like Best Friends For Life. The only exempt organization that is actively helping the community. There is no other entity or organization in Laredo that helps the community cats. They were the only ones that helped me spay/neuter under their TNR program a colony of 33 cats that were left behind by their care giver who ended up bed written in a rehabilitation hospital. I had called several vets but I couldn’t afford to pay their fees. They charge the same price as if they were home pets. There were no special prices for community cats mixed w feral /semi feral. Also, surgery spaces were limited and time was of the essence since I needed to stop them from reproducing.
They do a lot of great work for the community cats of Laredo. I wish the city would step in and help them get more grant money so they can expand and offer more services. They offer adoptions, education, and raising awareness for animal cruelty.
This is a Great nonprofit organization
They help the community a lot with thier program TNR
And provide the best health care while in thier care
And find homes for a lot of cats and kittens
And reducing our overpopulation of cats in our community
Because of the TNR program thru BFFL I’ve been able to trap and spay/neuter several cats from my neighborhood and office area. It’s been the most rewarding experience. The cats are all striving and living their best lives now and the best part….they’re not reproducing!!! Some were even so sweet they were adopted into loving homes.
BFFL is a wonderful organization that does amazing things for stray cats/kittens. They make it incredibly easy to find your furever cat! Thanks to them we now have our gorgeous boy, Gibby! Furever grateful!!
Best Friends For Life's staff and volunteers truly care and are passionate about rescuing as many as they can! They assisted with spaying/neutering 4 of my community cats and they rescued an entire litter of kittens that I was unable to get fixed and rehomed on my own. I'm so grateful for all they do for the cats in our city, as resources are limited and there seems to be no end to the over population problem.
Best Friends For Life helped us with the TNR (trap, neuter, return) of our community cats! Now the cats in our neighborhood are no longer reproducing and leaving kittens in our yard! The cats are living happier and healthier lives and it's a joy to watch them thrive! All cats deserve the kind of love and compassion Best Friends For Life gives!
