Having worked for nonprofits my whole life, I know the Berkshire Community Action Council (BCAC) is a solid, accountable and unique organization serving people in need in MA's Berkshire County. Emerging out of a troubled period, today BCAC, under the leadership of the new ED, has rebuilt programs solidly in line with community needs while stressing financial accountability. There is a solid Board of Directors and a committed staff. And now the MASS CAP agency calls on BCAC to help other Community Action Agencies build their own capacity.

I recently became employed as an outreach worker at soldier on and reached out to other like minded organizations for future collaborations and information gathering.. Linda cernik took time out of her day to update me on the vast array of programs and resouce options for veterans and anyone in our community in need of asistance or advocacy..I walked away impressed with the mission of bcac, linda's passion and energy, and the organizations willingness to collaborate for the good of the community.. Quality organization and great staff!

BCAC has truly become an organization that not only 'helps out' in times of emergency, but also 'helps families out' of poverty through their own programming and by connecting people to other services that will bridge the gap from insecurity to financial stability.

For many years, I've been impressed with the good work this agency does helping to feed people in the Berkshires. Over the years, I've donated food collected in the classes I teach, from my colleagues at the local community college, and from my pantry. My children have helped to deliver Thanksgiving dinners and collected warm clothing for distribution. This agency deserves our support.
