Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Congregate Meals, Food, Human Services, Meals on Wheels, Senior Centers, Seniors
Mission: The mission of berks encore is to develop aging-confident individuals to enhance their ability to live well later in life.
Results: Meals on Wheels delivered more than 130,000 meals in 2023 to over 1,000 unique clients. Almost 700 volunteers provided more than 50,000 hours of service. Our Medicare counselors helped more than 1,200 clients save over $208,000 in 2023. Our volunteer grocery shoppers handled more than 2,400 orders last year. Health & Wellness master trainers served 1,160 participants with fitness and evidence based programs focused on improving strength, balance, and flexibility. Our six Wellness and Activity Centers served almost 2,000 unique patrons with exercise, educational programs, entertainment and socialization.
Target demographics: aging individuals to enhance their ability to live well later in life.
Direct beneficiaries per year: almost 1,100 homebound seniors with meals on wheels and almost 2000 older adults who attended a program at one of our 6 senior Wellness and Activity Centers.
