Benevolent is the brainchild of Megan Kashner, a longtime friend and Northwestern U prof for social impact, & this org has such an important mission to help people in need with one-time financial support to help them get over a hurdle and back to taking care of themselves and their families!!

GREAT org, GREAT team— the CLOZTALK team is honored to call Benevolent our partner!!

I donated twice to this non-profit in 2019

The money is still sitting in limbo because the requests were not funded, so the money gets shuffled to the next request.

An an Intern for a non-profit organization located in the Uptown Area of Chicago we have a high volume of clients and we do not offer any financial assistance. However, it can be extremely frustrating when barriers prevent us from working successfully with clients and prevent them from achieving their own goals. Our partnership with Benevolent has broken down some of these barriers. One of our clients was able to get a cane for walking, another a pair of shoes to get around while another was able to get help with moving costs so he could move into a subsidized unit. For many of these requests we had nowhere else to turn and had exhausted our options with other services and organizations offered in the city - we have been so incredibly pleased with our partnership with Benevolent.

Our partnership with Benvolent has been a extremly positive experience from the very begining! We have had great succeess with getting the needs of our parents met through the Benevolent website. Because of Benevolent our parents have been able to take steps they were not able to take on their own to further their education. As the Parent Coordinator at an elementary school in Chicago i am daily reaching out to parents and families, hearing the needs and challenges they are having and Benevolent is at the top of my list of resources. The whole process of getting needs posted to the website is very easy and the Benevolent staff is always just an email or call away for help or further direction if needed.

Sincerely,

Annie Matyi

I work as an intern for an organization that validates needs for Benevolent. In the few months we have been working with them, they have helped change the lives of many of the best people I know. I know that sounds cliche (and it probably is), but Benevolent is truly a blessing for the city of Charlotte. They are fair, smart, and use their resources wisely to help our neediest neighbors. What more can you ask for from a nonprofit?

Benevolent has taken making dreams come true to a different level. Being in position to assist in making someone's impossible goal become a reality is awesome. Their process is effortless which makes it even the more worthwhile. I'm very grateful for Benevolent, their donors and all efforts made to meet the needs of individuals who are struggling but perservering to make their lives and their family's lives better!

Benevolent has helped some of our homeless and vulnerably-housed clients take a big leap toward financial independence.

Our conversations, meetings and communication with Benevolent representatives have been informative, prompt and positive.

We're excited about what's next!

I've had the opportunity to assist families in applying for services with Benevolent and the experience has been nothing short of wonderful. From the start of the process to get the information about the program , to guidance with assisting my client in recording the video, submitting the vidoe, and validating it; it has truly been an awesome experience!

My approach to charitable giving is finding smaller organizations that have personal relationships within the community. That is not to say, for example, the Red Cross does not build personal relationships with the people they serve, but I don't think a larger, national organization is able to do nearly as good of a job as Benevolent does when it comes to personal interaction and real, lasting connections with community members. Learning about the person I donated to made me feel more committed to her well being, and to her achieving her financial goal. I also appreciate how Benevolent updates you about the person you helped, and allows you to keep up with the person's fundraising progress.

I've donated to a few needs on the Benevolent site since learning about the organization this past summer. It's easy to get caught up in your own world and I find that the stories posted on the site help bring me back down to earth. Benevolent's platform help remind me of where I've been and the opportunities allotted to me via the support of individuals and programs in my community. Returning the favor and supporting individuals looking to move their lives forward is the least I could do.

Benevolent gave me the opportunity to take actually a specific person of my choosing with the money that I would've probably spent eating out. Once I donated, and after the need was fully funded, I received a thank-you email from the recipient along with an update on how she was doing.

LWalker...This agency has been a truly amazing support to the people we service. As a validator for our non-profit the Benevolent Agency has been and will be a continued asset in helping others. I am a non-profit professional that loves what i do but understands the needs of the communities are great and it takes us all to work together to address these issues pleaguing the country. The Benevolent is an agency that lives that and proves that through there work daily. They are definitely a beacon of light that is not only needed but very much appreciated in this fight for social, educational, emotional and economical change.

I am a validator for a nonprofit partner agency with Benevolent. Since our partnership started in late May, we have posted 6 needs for our guests and all needs have been met within two months. The Benevolent team has been extremely easy to work with, providing a user-friendly platform to help our guests overcome obstacles and reach self-sufficiency, in a very short amount of time. From standard posts to more detailed questions, Benevolent provides an excellent service to both nonprofits and the individuals they assist.

I am a validator with a non-profit that uses Benevolent.net. Since starting to use Benevolent, we have posted over 10 clients. Each and every one has had her need met by the caring folks who visit the website. As my clients say to me, it's not just about the money they get, they get a feeling that other people care about them. I am constantly moved by the stories on Benevolent and by the people who help. What a great nonprofit!

This has been an amazing vehicle for helping those in social services help others, empowering those we serve take charge and feel supported, and getting the word out to the general public that small donations can make big differences. thanks for what you do!
