Mission: Woodside Priory School was founded in 1957 by Benedictine monks from Hungary who moved to the U.S. to escape opression. They founded a boy's boarding school and monastary where they could pursue their mission to assist students of promise in becoming lifelong learners who will productively serve a world in need of their gifts. Woodside Priory supports the Benedictine values of spirituality, hospitality, integrity, individuality, and community.
Programs: The Woodside Priory faculty includes five monks and 45 lay teachers. The co-educational student body consists of 340 students in grades 6-12. The program is one of high academic expectations in a curriculum that meets the requirements of the University of California and top-tier colleges. Students are given very personalized attention in the classroom, along with the programs in sports, performing arts, studio arts, community service, and extracurriculars. The school offers many AP courses in a variety of subjects, and the Priory's sports programs have garnered many awards. The chapel and daily services are open to the wider lay community.
