This is a fantastic nonprofit that does so much good in multiple communities, and uses donor dollars very efficiently. The nonprofit bears the name of Claire VanLandingham, whose life was tragically cut short due to intimate partner violence, but the good Claire ushered into the world during her short life lives on through this organization. Its many projects and initiatives all center around six guiding principles: All people should have access to healthy food, health care, shelter, safe relationships, caring role models and that the earth's resources should be protected. This small but mighty organization is collaborating with diverse groups to make progress in all these areas. It offers grants to mission-aligned nonprofits, leads interventions that provide funds and volunteer resources for nonprofits, and is launching a community training called Claire's Community that trains adults to help youth build relationships that are free of violence. If you have funds you want to invest to bring about transformative change, invest them in #BeMoreLikeClaire!
#BeMoreLikeClaire is a fantastic nonprofit. I began to volunteer with them after I saw all of the good they were doing in our community. They have given out thousands of grant dollars to other local organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the Children's Advocacy Center just to name a few.
In addition to the funds they raise for other nonprofits doing amazing work, #BMLC runs another amazing program. This is called the Claire's Community Training. For this training, #BMLC partners with local partner agencies to train adults to recognize the warning signs of an unhealthy relationship, listen, support, and educate those in unhealthy relationships so they may safely navigate out of it.
The staff at #BMLC are passionate about their work, the board of directors is involved and extremely helpful to the running of #BeMoreLikeClaire.
