Mission: Bee Busy Learning Academy, Inc. (Bee Busy) is a 501 (c) (3) community based, non-profit organization, established in October 2000, providing prevention services throughout Houston, focusing its efforts reaching the highly impacted area of Southwest Houston. As Bee Busy’s mission is to build strong, healthy communities by enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in vulnerable, at-risk populations, our goals are to increase the awareness of HIV/STIs, increase the number of persons who know their HIV status through rapid HIV/STI screenings, reduce the transmission of HIV and provide timely linkage to care and treatment for HIV positive people.
Results: ) Early Diagnosis Program which is a HIV counseling, testing and referral service targeting the highest impacted community, YMSM (young men who sleep with men) of color ages 15 - 29. This program provides more than 3,500 annual HIV and Syphilis tests, with 40% of those clients also being screened for HCV. 2) Comprehensive Risk Counseling Services (CRCS), services that are provided to the transgender community through a collaborative 3) Adolescent Health Education delivers comprehensive curriculums to youth and young adults ranging from 12 to 24 in schools, community centers, group homes and wherever groups of young people gather to increase knowledge about prevention practices. GINI (Get Informed, Not Infected) teaches safe sex practices and STD risk reduction.
