I have both fostered and brought an animal to Canada thanks in part to Heathers persistence. I have seen first hand all the loving and sometimes painful work Heather and Gil do including help organize the spay/neuter of almost 2000 cats and dogs. Head out day and night to pick up or drop off injured animals to vets and clinics. Countless trips to the airport to send pups off to their new homes. Distribution of meds, food and sometimes even toys. Any monies sent here get used to their maximum potential. Send money. Feel great!!!
Both of our dogs are from this rescue. We adore these people and their tireless dedication, love, and commitment to stop the suffering of the dogs there and to end the cycle of homelessness for them. Spend your money here. Every penny will help them to keep doing good work every day! Thank you Beach Dog Rescue!!
I heard about Heather and Gil thru her Aunt, a friend. I immediately wanted to help them save the street dogs in Mexico. The situation there is dire so I started to fundraise with calendar photo contests, dog bath fundraisers, auction basket raffles and direct donations. I hope to visit some day. Heather and Gil are heros in my eyes. Kim T. Pittsburgh
Great group (2 people ha!) who do amazing things and are making a huge difference for the street dogs and cats of Costa Maya. There are very few doing this type if work there and Heather and Gil work tirelessly and with very little resources. Since COVID there is more need and even fewer resources.
They have been to Chetumal a few times helping hundreds of abandoned animals in great need. They are amazing!
Heather and Gil are the rare people that don't have blinders on to the world around them and are willing to do something about it. They have singlehanded improved the stray and unwanted dog problem along the Costa Maya. It's awe inspiring.
About 5 years ago Heather Johnson formed this charitable organization to help the many sick and injured and abandoned dogs of Quintana Roo, Mexico. In that short time she's been able to help thousands of dogs, and cats, live happier and healthier lives. She provides funding for life-saving Medical treatments as well as regular free spay and neuter clinics. She also arranges transfer of adoptable dogs to the US and Canada. She is presently looking at expanding her efforts into the Yucatan area including providing a sanctuary for unadoptable dogs and for farmed animals. She does this without any administrative staff. All donations go to bettering the lives of the dogs and cats of Mexico.
