When I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer I thought my world had come to an end. I was desperate to find others who had been there and knew what to expect for treatments. I also needed someone to talk to, someone who would know how afraid and confused I was. The ladies on this site listened to me complain, ask questions, request support, and they were there every step of the way. They gave me valuable information and insights. The live chat room at this site was a safe place for me to go and say what I needed to. I still go to this chat room today and try to help out others that are experiencing the same trauma from being diagnosed with breast cancer. Don't know what I would have done with all these wonderful ladies!

This support organization was just what I needed to calm me and give me a sense of support when I needed it most during the early days of diagnosis and treatment. Although I am a nurse and aware of the ins and outs of diagnosis and treatment the very critical component of empathy and reassurance came from the women who had been there (through this website). The very personal caring instilled a sense of "Yes it may be difficult but you can do it...and we will always be there to help...we understand. The posters were always there...in those scary hours of the night when all the fears emerge from the shadows to the cheerful blue skies of the day. The availability of a shoulder to cry on and an outstretched hand to pull me up was amazing. That was 4 years ago and now I still post on the site but now to be there for my "sisters" who are currently looking for that support and help.
